Does everything I 've ever needed it to do. Very well put together, and feels solid and durable in the hand( much more so than Gerber tools, in my limited experience). The knife blades come very sharp and have held their edge quite well. The pliers are solidly constructed and well suited to all sorts of tasks, which is the main advantage that multitools have over something like a Swiss Army Knife. The wire cutters are fine for anything up to like a coat hanger; for tougher jobs you will probably want a heavier tool. The minor tools all work very well; there's nothing extraneous and no wasted space. The sheath is fine. Velcro is a bit loud, but is n't that always the way. A few minor quibbles:- There is very little to distinguish one side of the tool from the other, meaning that if you want to use one of the knife blades, you will open the wrong one roughly 50% of the time. Kind of annoying.- The knife blades are nice to have and work fine for day- to- day stuff. That said, they are clearly not designed for a lot of heavy cutting, and the attachment point feels pretty breakable. If you do a lot of cutting you might consider just getting a pocketknife and carrying that as well.- The minor tools( scissors, screwdrivers, etc) are packed in pretty tight, and can be stiff to open.- It's not the most ergonomic grip in the world. Not uncomfortable, exactly, but there are a few little ridges sticking out, and if you 're using the knife a lot your hand will be tender the next day.- No tweezers. Whenever I get splinters I feel a slight pang for my Swiss Army Knife. Overall it's an excellent little tool, arguably about the most useful and versatile thing you could carry. If you want something like this, buy this.

This is a short and sweet, to the point tool. No frills, no fancy coatings( option to duracoat yourself). The tools are strong enough for on the spot situations. Knife is suprisingly good! About as good as any breasting knife or caper. Only issue while feeling solid and durable is being `` too '' solid. Its somewhat hard to open up alot of the tools but im sure with time like any tool it 'll break in and be smooth a butter. If not who cares. It will still serve you with years of dedicated use.

I received my first wave as a high school graduation present when I was working as a Girl Scout camp counselor and working on my family's dairy farm. It was useful so many more times than I could believe. I moved about a year ago and some how in the move my leatherman disappeared. I have completely torn apart my apartment several times could never find it so for my birthday this year, my mother gave me the money to purchase another. I work in a green house in the summer and it comes in very useful and it's also great to have on me for random things that I encounter out in the world. I do recommend getting the leather sheath for it if it is something that you are going to be wearing extensively as the velcro on the nylon sheath will wear out.

I bought this knife maybe 2 months ago for my ruck pack after seeing it on sale at a Dicks Sporting Goods store. I thought eh, has a good edge and will make a great extra knife. BOY OH BOY!!! When i took it on my camping trip, this knife performed and withstood all I tossed at it. I literally used the knife to shave logs and make wood chips for fire. When I got the fire up and decided I needed medium pieces of wood; I was able to split the logs down the middle using only this knife and another log to hammer it through! The blade never dulled or bent. This knife is a monster. Totally recommended it for any one asking should they buy it as a main or an extra. And the company is great. I bought the display knife which did n't have a sheath and SOG was kind enough to mail one right to my home. Thank you for a great product. About to purchase a second for a back today!

I bought this knife a couple of weeks ago alongside the Pentagon. During the recent winter storms I ended up trapped with ice all over my car and had nothing but my SEAL Pup to scrape 1/2 '' thick ice off my windshield, mirrors, and rear window. When I got back home, I checked the edge expecting it to be chipped, rolled, or dulled. Amazingly, the knife is still shaving sharp, just like when I took it out of the box. Many thanks to SOG!

After some use, this new Made in the USA gerber blade performs well. I used it while camping and it did great for al, the tasks I asked of it. It carved sticks, created kindling and fuzz sticks for a fire, sparked a ferro rod, cut rope, and sliced up our meat for supper. The sheath is well thought out and allows for multiple carry options. The handle fit my hand well and was very grippy in all conditions. I ordered a fine edge from an Internet site, and received a serrated in the box. Gerber's customer service was awesome, and quickly replaced it with the fine edge version that was supposed to be in the box.

Back in my Active Duty days, I carried a Gerber Mark2 in my ruck. So Brand Loyalty is key here, I 'm not a full on Gerber Fanboy, but their designs and innovations speak to this former Grunt, and now retired but still running Precision Rifle matches. My EDC was the Gerber LST( light and SS for corrosion concerns). My current EDC is the Gerber Swagger. I sprung for this StongArm because I found the Prodigy and LMF and Infantry knives/sheaths a bit on the heavy side. Enter 2015 and the StongArm.... What can I say that has not been said. Great for BOB knife, SHTF, Zombie Apocalypse and plain old GTFO/ Get Home bag. I 'm no longer wearing a plate carrier so a simple FLC with MOLLE will see this knife. My Maxpedition bags all have MOLLE so this GTFO/SHTF knife mounts with amazing flexibility. And for my 2017 Taco truck the BG Ultimate Pro will reside in the cubby. This StrongArm will always reside in my GTFO gear, though. I do have an axe for the truck so I 'm not concerned about chopping, but I 'm super pleased to know from the YouTube reviews, that these knives can hold their own. I just put the SOG Jungle Primitive to a brief initial test. Results were good. I chopped a six inch log in half in about 30 seconds. Then I shaved some kindling and tinder. I finished up by using the knife with a fire steel to start a quick fire. No hotspots on hands nice handle grip. Very sharp blade. I 'm a satisfied customer!
