Like it so far- we have a Rav 4 Adventure and had to put the rack in the middle which makes it a little harder to get the Kayaks on the roof. It might have been better if we bought two separate units so they could be closer to the side of the Rav. Also with the support straight up, the bigger Kayak needs to be held until you get the first strap on it. All that said, the rack seem strong and the Kayaks rode well.

Overall, a great way to store your canoe on your vehicle's cross bars. Felt like the price was about triple for what you actually get in terms of plastic braces, 2 straps, and screws. However, it's a well- built product that should last. Have used it twice thus far for our canoe... have a good hang of it now... could probably reinstall/take- down in 10 minutes tops.

I placed this on a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with factory crossbars. These worked great for holding a 16 foot canoe. Never moved and protected the vehicle. I would give it five stars if there was a way to lock the mounts to the car( None of the other canoe carrier companies had locks either. ie thule, Yakima) It would be nice if you did not have to undo all the screws each time you removed the mount from the car, but not a big deal. I would recommend this and I would buy it again.

My partner and I recently bought two kayaks from Dick ’s and needed to transport them over 100 miles through several mountain passes on a windy day. On a whim, we bought this kit and we are so glad we did. The steel Straps that attach to your cross bars do n't slip a millimeter during transit. also the strap guide on the top bar of these racks are great so you can set the strap and fold it up without having to climb up on the car to do so. [ Got these to replace my stock crossbars. Got them for the main reason is that they have the ability to install Thule ’s one key lock system. I don ’ t have any ability to lock down anything on the factory cross bars and the can be easily taken off by popping the trim piece off and sliding them out of the side rails. With these load bars, the foot system, and the one key lock system, it is definitely a better theft deterrent than what I previously had. I ’ m sure it ’s not theft proof, but it ’s better than the factory load bars I had.

[ I installed these load bars about a month ago. I added the cargo basket on top. Getting the bars installed was easy and getting the basket installed was easy. Based on the instruction manual for the basket( which includes installation info for other bar types, as well), it was much easier to install on these particular bars than on other bars. It also took fewer tools to get the basket installed onto these bars. I 've now driven across 4 states and have had no issues with them- a very good purchase!

I bought this boat for both short family trips and max- gear solo excursions, and so far i ’ m super happy. The boat is about as big/ heavy as I ’ d ever want to deal with solo, but having said that, i can totally manage it on and off the roof rack. Two kids fit side by side in the center seat, and solo, i can paddle from the center or flip the boat and paddle from the bow seat backwards. I ’ ve got a 280cm kayak paddle and a 54 ” bent shaft canoe paddle, and both work fine for solo trips. It ’s not fast or light, and of course not for portages, but if you need a big gear hauler that can work as a solo boat, it ’s perfect.

I just purchased this canoe to replace my original Discovery 133, which I ended up trading for a pair of wire cutters. Yep, you read that right. About a month ago I visited the completely fenced in storage lot where we live and had the boat stored in AND ACTUALLY CHAINED TO THE FENCE!!! What I found in place of my canoe was the pair of wire cutters that were used to cut the fence the boat was chained to. then they apparently lifted it over a 7' tall fence. So apparently someone else likes the Old town Discovery 133 as much as I and also thinks it is a great canoe. Seriously, it is a very high quality product, very stable due to it's wide beam, yet still moves easily through the water and is remarkably maneuverable. I was delighted to find a new one to replace it on the Old town website, purchased it immediately and just as predicted when I bought it, it arrived 2 weeks later at my door. The packaging was great and kept the canoe from getting and scratched or `` dings '' in transit. Excellent job all around by Old Town.

My wife and I bought this canoe to paddle and fish on our neighborhood's 100 acre lake in Owasso, OK. We are very satisfied with our Discovery 133 for this purpose. The canoe is easy to paddle for two amateur canoers. It tracks well. I was able to stand and comfortably fly fish out of it with no concerns for the canoe tipping over. It is well proportioned and easily manageable for two people to easily load/unload it and get it on the water quickly.
