My partner and I recently bought two kayaks from Dick ’s and needed to transport them over 100 miles through several mountain passes on a windy day. On a whim, we bought this kit and we are so glad we did. In the parking lot of the Dick ’s, we were able to install the kit on the crossbars of her Subaru Outback within 30 minutes and did not need a single tool for assembly! The instructions that came with the kit were clear and taught us how to safely secure our kayaks to the car. After tightening the straps, the kayaks didn ’ t budge for the entire trek home. This is a great product that is easy to use and effective in fulfilling its purpose.

I have used other car roof canoe carriers and found them lacking. This one, used in combination with the Evo WingBar, is tremendously better. The engineering and quality of materials is impressive. I ca n't imagine anything more secure and easy to use.

Trying to research options to haul a canoe a few times on my F150 and this came up. It ’s a bit of a pricey option when combined with the the roof rack. In the end I was able to haul a canoe securely without issue. All straps were provided and the install was easy and secure. I ’ d recommend it.

Like it so far- we have a Rav 4 Adventure and had to put the rack in the middle which makes it a little harder to get the Kayaks on the roof. It might have been better if we bought two separate units so they could be closer to the side of the Rav. Also with the support straight up, the bigger Kayak needs to be held until you get the first strap on it. All that said, the rack seem strong and the Kayaks rode well.

I have the Malone AirFlow towers and rails and the BigFoot Pro pads are a great accessory to get the canoe/kayak up off the vehicle roof. Quality construction. I just wish there was a way to lock them to the crossrails.

Overall, a great way to store your canoe on your vehicle's cross bars. Felt like the price was about triple for what you actually get in terms of plastic braces, 2 straps, and screws. However, it's a well- built product that should last. Have used it twice thus far for our canoe... have a good hang of it now... could probably reinstall/take- down in 10 minutes tops.

I placed this on a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with factory crossbars. These worked great for holding a 16 foot canoe. Never moved and protected the vehicle. I would give it five stars if there was a way to lock the mounts to the car( None of the other canoe carrier companies had locks either. ie thule, Yakima) It would be nice if you did not have to undo all the screws each time you removed the mount from the car, but not a big deal. I would recommend this and I would buy it again.

I received this bar today and had it assembled in 15 minutes. I attached my J- bars and mounted everything on my Ford Escape within minutes. The suction cups work great and the strap is easy to tighten and holds solid. This bar is very adjustable for any vehicle without a factory luggage rack! I love it!

I use this trailer for my 12' fishing kayak. Buying American has many advantages, in particular that the build instructions are in English and easy to understand. The directions walk you through everything and the pictures are excellent shots of the steps. It took me over 4 hours to put it together, but I 'm a 54 yr/old woman!

I love my Malone Microsport trailer! It pulls nicely on windy, country roads. Very versatile. Can adjust cradle placement. After a long day of kayaking, we can easily lift our kayaks on the trailer. Solid materials make for a solid product. Best investment for avid kayakers!

When selecting a canoe carrier for cars, consider features such as weight capacity, ease of installation, and compatibility with your vehicle type. Look for adjustable straps and padding to protect your canoe and vehicle during transport. Additionally, features like a locking mechanism can enhance security while on the road.
Canoe carriers for cars come in various types, including roof-mounted racks, hitch-mounted carriers, and foam block systems. Roof-mounted racks are popular for their stability and ease of use, while hitch-mounted options offer a more secure fit. Foam block systems are a budget-friendly choice for occasional use.
To determine if a canoe carrier will fit your vehicle, check the manufacturer's specifications for compatibility with your car's roof type or hitch. Measure the width of your vehicle's roof and ensure the carrier can accommodate that size. Additionally, consider the height of your vehicle to ensure you can load and unload the canoe safely.
Canoe carriers for cars are typically made from durable materials such as steel, aluminum, or high-strength plastic. Steel carriers are known for their strength and stability, while aluminum options are lightweight and resistant to rust. High-strength plastic components can provide added protection and cushioning for your canoe.
Many canoe carriers are versatile and can be used for other types of watercraft, such as kayaks or paddleboards. However, it's essential to check the weight capacity and design of the carrier to ensure it can safely accommodate different watercraft. Some carriers may come with adjustable features to fit various shapes and sizes.
When transporting a canoe during different seasons, consider the weather conditions and how they may affect your journey. In winter, ensure that the carrier is equipped to handle snow and ice, while in summer, check for UV protection to prevent damage from sun exposure. Additionally, ensure that your canoe is securely fastened to prevent shifting during travel.
