After 1 week very happy, instructions were good, despite what others have said, maybe these have been improved recently, just took some patience to figure things out. I did check the nuts fitting onto the bolts the day before we installed and the nuts did not go on smoothly to any of the bolts, so I recommend you try these before, and make sure you have all the hardware necessary. A few dollars on new nuts that went on smoothly saved a lot of frustration. The hardware LifeTime provides appears very cheap, bolts and nuts at Ace are cheap and will be easier to install. Mine was missing one of the roof mount adapters, but since I mounted on a wall I did n't need these anyway. I used 5/16 '' threaded rod to mount the adapter all the way thru my brick to the inside of the garage with nuts and washers on each end to make sure it was secure, You can cut the threaded rod with a hacksaw. I did n't trust just using brick screws. I like how LifeTime has the measurement of how high to mount the bottom bracket, 9' 7 5/8 '', to make sure once the backboard is mounted the rim will be at 10'. If you have a sloped driveway entrance like mine it will take some calculating and I did n't want to drill thru the mortar where our's lined up, but is within 1 '' of 10' when installed. Some tools that are helpful is a long socket set with a 13mm long socket to go along with the adjustable wrench to make things go faster. Long socket because the threads will stick out too far past the bolts when you get them tightened down to use a normal socket. 2 ladders definitely helps too.

I ride a 32lb mountain bike and this rack is very stable, even on some very rough logging roads that I took it on. I was worried about getting some side to side movement in the rougher areas of the road but my friend who was driving behind me said it did not look wobbly at all! The locking arm seems more like a preventative feature but it would bring some peace of mind if I wanted to run into a store or a restaurant briefly. The ratchet straps also really lock down the wheels and are very easy to use. Keep in mind you do actually have to lift your complete bike up on your roof so it may not be ideal for the vertically challenged or those with larger SUV's or Trucks but I have a 2011 Ford Escape and with my bike on the roof, I still have about 9 feet of clearance.

This is a great rack and is super easy to install. If you can remove your spare tire, you can install it with no problem. Works great for my 2023 Land Rover Defender, the middle length post is a perfect fit for the standard 22 inch rims. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that full suspension mountain bikes can require a bit of creativity to mount due to the SpareRide holding them at two points on the top tube and one point on the seat tube. Depending on the anatomy of your bike I can see this rack maybe not working, but for all other bikes you 'll be good to go.

I am very happy with my purchase of the Malone J- dock Kayak& Gear storage rack. Installation was easy. I did use a bigger drill bit than instructed to drill the pilot holes for the screws, and used socket rather than a wrench to make it easier on myself. The whole installation was about 20 minutes. Once installed, placing my kayaks in the cradles took about 10 minutes. The straps to hang the second kayak did not ratchet as easily as I would have liked, and I suggest using your own straps, having help to take weight off the straps while you ratchet them up, or using something under the kayak to hold it up while you tighten the straps. Either way, once they kayak is up and the straps tightened the kayaks are secure and the system is great! I also liked having the ability to store my paddles on the rack.

The trickiest part for me was positioning the box just right — I prefer to have it centered on the roof, as we often access gear from both sides depending on the situation. The XL size is a great fit for an SUV. Due to the design of our crossbars, we did need to shift the box back a bit further than we initially wanted, which prevents the trunk from opening fully. However, this is entirely our choice, and I do n't fault Thule for this minor issue. We took the roof box on a skiing trip right away, and it held our 4 skis and poles with ease! It ’s been a game- changer for freeing up space inside the car. While the box does make a bit of noise once we hit 70mph, it's nothing that bothers us. Overall, I highly recommend the Thule Force 3 to anyone in need of extra storage. We 're thrilled to have it as part of our gear setup!

It fits perfectly on my BMW. My only issue is that the product description only have pictures and didn ’ t have point by point directions so it took a little time initially to install. Now that I figured out the pieces of the puzzle and the bike rack and how goes on the car the next time will be a lot easier. Great product

Originally I purchased the traditional car bike rack but with having two mountain bikes the fit was just two tight and the bikes were are odd angles. I returned it to Dicks with no issues and purchased this one. It took a few minutes to setup but for the most part it is pretty straightforward. The rack is not to heavy and works very well. It is not a heavy duty as the original bike rack I returned but I suspect it will hold up just fine. If I was to pick out any weak points it would be the plastic adjustment knobs other than it should be fine.

[ We have not had this for a very long time, but it is the best family bike rack that we have had and we have had a TON! We wish we had bought this first. It ’s easy to put on our van( hitch) its easy to load all of our different bikes especially the Trek bike without the quick release front wheel and no bar to go on the other type of hitch rack.

[ Bought this bike rack about a month ago to accommodate the larger bikes our family is now riding. Assembled easily and is very solid when loaded up and on the hitch. It has almost no movement when driving around. Bikes load up pretty easily once you get the hang of it. I think they could have come up with a better style of strap, but they work
