Very good product. I had these tubes installed within minutes of taking them out of the box. Have put a lot of miles on them with no flats to date.

5 InColorado
Nice product and easy to work with. Much easier than trying to use the bottle of slime and getting it into the tire tube.

I got this after tearing the normal 26 inch tube during install. Much sturdier worth the extra$ 2

So far so good. Installed as easy as any bike tube. Have had no issues to date with quality and no flat tires to date. Not sure if it is working or just no flat tires!!

No problems to report. Why not go for the slime tube that was just about the same price as a regular one.

5 Matt P
it works fine, I would buy another one. It does everything it should, it holds air and keeps my tires from being flat.

5 LivingStrong
I 've been using slime for years and I absolutely love that these tubes heal themselves when they get a puncture. Although, after removing a larger object, I 've noticed that it helps to rotate the wheel — flip your bike upside down and spin the wheel a few times to fill the hole. This is a great product, and I always keep spare slime tubes handy.

5 KC
These save me from many flats. Corpus Christi Roads are horrible. These are durable and worth every penny.

5 Bike_Jedi
Just had a nasty puncture in my tire on my last bike ride. Was surprised the tire did n't deflate right then and there. It did within a few hours, but thanks to Slime self - healing tubes, all I had to do was pump up the tires and I was good to go. Did another long - distance ride after the incident, and my tires worked like new. Saved me the hassle of having to change out my tire tubes after every flat.

Put one of these on the front tire, not the back. I have had 6 flats on the back and none on the front. I will be putting a slime tube on the back soon!

5 Lindsay
I used this smart tube while riding down a really rocky trail and was worried the tires would n't make it through such rough terrain. I was n't disappointed!

3 rides so far. No flats yes. Lightweight. Factory tubes went flat on the first ride.

Worth the extra couple bucks over the regular tubes in case of a flat

I recently bought four of these, after my wife ran over some cactus on one of our rides. I read a previous review, basically saying don ’ t buy these and the stem was broken, but I never had issues buying stuff from Dick ’s in the past, so I bought them anyway. I noticed that on the Presta Valves, the stem lock ships screwed all the way in, if you unscrew this, it will inflate and deflate properly. I replaced a tube last night, and just checked the air this morning, and it ’s fine. Maybe the other person just didn ’ t realize this? Hard to say, but no problems here with mine.

They do as expected. I really like the valvestem. I have adaptors oddly same brand as Slime. Did not need them. My, pump can inflate them. I like the hold down nut that keep the valvestem in place with no air. It makes connecting so much easier. For a sports store Dicks has a tiny selection of bike tubes tires and such. Seems non sports stores have more to offer.

5 Elwood333
I ride my bike close to 7 days a week. This past summer I had 4( yes FOUR!) tire blowouts using the Schwinn bicycle brand of replacement inner tubes purchased@ Walmart. I became so frustrated by the constant changing of the tires that I vowed to get the inner tubes somewhere else. I luckily thought of Dick's.( The return associate@ Walmart explained to me that: `` They do get a lot of those inner tubes returned to them on a pretty regular basis. `` The quality of the Slime inner tube carried by Dick's is readily apparent the moment you open the packaging. They feel twice as thick as the Schwinn's product sold@ Walmart. The valve stems are also of much better quality than the Schwinn product. I will never shop for bike replacement products at any other store. Dick's carries quality product.

5 That Other Guy
Slime tubes are some of the best sefl healing tubes on the market and Dick's sells them at a lower price that any other store in the Valley. They even beat the big box store that starts with a W.

I use the 26x2. 25 presta version. The# 1 biggest problem with mountain biking is all the stuff you run over on the trails. When I started mountain biking 4 years ago I had 6 flats in the first three months, using std tubes. I tried going tubeless as well but to me its a mess toi set up and mess to manage because you need to use a Slime like sealer to do it. So when I found the Sline tubes, I thought I had found the perfect balance. Yes they are heavier than a std tube( about 240g vs 120g for a std tube), but I ride a 40lb mountain bike( loaded with gear) so a few grams is not an issue( whereas getting a flat miles from home is a BIG issue). I Have not a A SINGLE flat using these tubes for the past 4 years. Not to say the tires have n't got minor punctures, but the slime seals the flat as if it never happened. Few words of advise... 1) always inspect your tires pre and post ride for damage.. if you get a puncture( you will see this by the green ooze at the puncture point) remove the puncture item and let the puncture seal. The slime coats the inner surface of the tube so for even coverage ride the bike a little and it will seal. These tubes can take a pretty big puncture. Pulled a big thorn out last weekend( size of a rose thorn) and it still sealed. 2) The slime is a liguid and will pool at the bottom of the tire, and the wheel may feel off balance as you start riding. HOnestly I do n't even notice anymore but it takes maybe a hundred feet or so of riding to redistribute the slime inside the tire. No big deal. 3) I am now replacing my tubes because the inflation valves are getting sticky. The slime does come out a little when inflating. I make sure the valve is at the bottom of the tire( closest to the ground) and push the valve in with my thumb and a small piece of paper towel to clean the valve a bit before attaching the pump. My pump has never suffered or gotten clogged and works just fine after these years. HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone who wants care free tires.

I ride a 26 '' Dual suspension on trails and off - road in South Dakota, Colorado and Nebraska. I ran my original tires flat the first day I bought the bike. I went to Dick's and bought these HD tubes and new Kenda smooth - thread tires. I 've pulled `` sand burrs '' and punture vine thorns from this combination for over a 6 month period with NO problems/flats! Before this, I used to install HD tubes and add the slime myself.... now I do n't have to! It's already done! And for$ 10 per tube, what a DEAL!!! However, it DOES add some weight to your bike for those worried about keeping it light. But, I chose to ride rather than walk/carry a flat - tire bike anyday!

5 Jake02
I recentlypurchased this tube and have ridden my bike off road twice and I have not had a flat. My experience had been I got a flat on every off road ride but this fixed that problem.

[ The muck off tape together with muck off sealant is exactly what you need to tape your tubeless wheel. Doesn ’ t require much overlap. I use the 25mm width for 25 internal width wheels

I got a flat from small pieces of glass and this sealant works great. Just removed the glass pieces spun the wheel and aired it up

This stuff works as advertised for sealing small holes in bike tubes. Application is fairly easy, but can be a little messy. I gave 4 stars because the competing brand( Slime) sells a slightly bigger bottle for a lower price. This brand works, but have not noticed that it is any better than Slime for the additional cost and less product.

Works exactly the way it should! Helps seal small holes and punctures, keep the bike on the path.

Frequently Asked Questions For Selfsealing Bike Tubes

A self-sealing bike tube is designed to automatically seal punctures as they occur, helping to maintain tire pressure and reduce the risk of flat tires. These tubes contain a special sealing liquid that fills small holes and cuts when the tire is punctured. This innovative feature allows for a smoother ride and less downtime due to flat tires.

Self-sealing bike tubes offer several advantages over traditional tubes, including increased convenience and reduced maintenance. They can save you time and effort by eliminating the need for frequent repairs or replacements due to punctures. Additionally, they can enhance your riding experience by providing peace of mind, knowing that minor punctures will be sealed automatically.

Self-sealing bike tubes are available in various sizes and valve types, making them compatible with many different bike models, including road bikes, mountain bikes, and hybrids. However, it's essential to check the specifications of your bike to ensure you select the correct size and valve type for optimal performance.

The lifespan of a self-sealing bike tube can vary based on usage, conditions, and maintenance. Generally, these tubes are designed to last for an extended period, but factors such as exposure to extreme temperatures, frequent punctures, and the quality of the sealing liquid can affect their durability. Regularly inspecting your tubes can help you determine when it's time for a replacement.

If a self-sealing bike tube suffers significant damage that the sealing liquid cannot address, it may not be repairable. In such cases, replacing the tube is typically the best option. However, many riders find that the self-sealing feature effectively handles minor punctures, reducing the likelihood of needing extensive repairs.
