This is a very durable, flexible, and elegant dumbbell set. You can adjust the weight by adding or subtracting weight plates, which means that one pair of dumbbells allows you to do many different exercises. Yes, it takes a minute to screw the collars on and off to change weights-- but you need to rest a minute between sets anyway. And you can screw the collars on snuggly so that the weight plates do n't rattle around like other quick- adjust dumbbell sets( and this set costs far less). Finally, the plastic case is a nice touch if you need to put the weights away when the grand kids come over for a play date.

I do n't leave many reviews but this product is worthy of some praise. I was looking for a pair of 10 lb weights to take with me while traveling. While looking at options at my local store, I spotted the Fitness Gear 40 Lb Adjustable Dumbbell Set. There was only one set on the floor, and it was sealed. I bought it without seeing the contents. This turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The components are nicely machined and painted or chromed, the set is versatile for a few weight combinations, and the carry case is a bonus. The collars go on the bars smoothly and easily. There are no sharp edges anywhere. This is a great set of adjustable dumbbell weights.

I noticed an odor with the RPU coating on these dumbbells when they arrived. However, they appear very sturdy and the smell dissipated after a while. There are grooves in the handgrip portion of the dumbbells to help with securing a hold on them.

That said, they are a bit on the pricey side: more so than the other options, and they 're not expandable, unfortunately. Work hours not compatible with gym memberships and ETHOS Rubber Hex Dumbbells were perfect compliment for home workout regimen. These are well constructed, tough, and versatile for both upper and Lower body workouts. Definitely not the cheapest solution, but well worth the extra$. I purchased 2 of the 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 lb weights and may eventually need add some higher weights. If you have space and are disciplined and motivated enough to use them, these are very useful and will last longer than me( and I plan to last a while).

I bought this a month ago and was able to assemble it pretty quickly by myself and then load it up with 424+ lb of dumb bells and kettle bells to clean up my home gym area. Working as described and I 'm pleased so far. The lower rack with 264 pounds of kettle bells may be just slightly sagging in the middle and so I put the heavier weights on the ends and I may add a wood block of support in the middle.

I 've had this stand for almost a year now. Very sturdy and have not had any problem storing my power blocks on it. I also like that there is room under the stand itself( I keep another set of dumbbells underneath). Note that I do not have the extra power block expansions( 70+ pounds), but there does appear to be plenty of room to accommodatee them, and the stand has never felt unstable in anyway with the base powerblock set.
