This is a very durable, flexible, and elegant dumbbell set. You can adjust the weight by adding or subtracting weight plates, which means that one pair of dumbbells allows you to do many different exercises. Yes, it takes a minute to screw the collars on and off to change weights-- but you need to rest a minute between sets anyway. And you can screw the collars on snuggly so that the weight plates do n't rattle around like other quick- adjust dumbbell sets( and this set costs far less). I do n't leave many reviews but this product is worthy of some praise. I was looking for a pair of 10 lb weights to take with me while traveling. While looking at options at my local store, I spotted the Fitness Gear 40 Lb Adjustable Dumbbell Set. There was only one set on the floor, and it was sealed. I bought it without seeing the contents. This turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The components are nicely machined and painted or chromed, the set is versatile for a few weight combinations, and the carry case is a bonus. The collars go on the bars smoothly and easily. There are no sharp edges anywhere. This is a great set of adjustable dumbbell weights.

My only complaint is I find it a tad bit difficult to do suitcase squats with them because of them being a bit bulky and if I 'm wearing shorts, they scrape my legs so on those days I have to wear leggings or sweatpants. That said, the fact that they go up to 90lbs it's definitely worth it in my opinion. Now if only there was a compact hip thrust weight product for small apartments( hint, hint) or at the very least a weighted bar that goes up to 110 or more lbs. My first impression of these weights was that they were much more solid with a much smoother mechanism for changing weights than I had anticipated. I enjoy the space convenience of these compared to having an entire set of dumbbells and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Using them they feel very similar to standard dumbbells at a commercial gym. I would also recommend ordering through Dick's sporting goods. Many Amazon reviews complained about receiving broken products, but my weights quickly and in great shape.

Wife and I bought these a little under a year ago for our homegym. Prior to that we had a couple of pairs of standard metal dumbbells. We wanted these to replace them and have more variety and they 've been perfect. I know people with the 552 adjustables and they 're all plastic and have broken pieces after owning for not too long. And they ca n't replace the parts so they 're just sol. These are all metal weighted parts with plastic/ rubber handle assembly and plastic weight adjusting slot piece. The only piece I could see breaking is the plastic slotted piece used for adjustment and that's only if you 're careless as it seems very durable and flexible. And if it were to break it would be breeze to replace. And you can buy expansions to have an even larger weight selection! 100% recommend these to anyone looking for a set of adjustable dumbbells. After almost a year of regular use they 've been incredible and have almost no signs of wear.

I almost did n't give this a try because some of the reviews said neoprene weights wo n't fit on the sides... glad I gave it a try anyways. I was able to fit my 10/12/15lbs neoprene weights on the side. The 10lbs just made it, 8lbs and lower wo n't fit at all. The 2lbs are a bit too short to fit properly on the crossbars but sit at an angle on it fine( I was n't surprised about that). Enough room to fit two more pairs of dumbells on the crossbars for a total of 10 pairs including the 2lbs. Easy to put together and fits nicely in my small workout area. I pushed it a round a little bit and it's a little wobbly but did n't seem like it would fall over. As mentioned in another review I would be still be careful/avoid small kids leaning on it.

Easy to assemble and I like the relatively compact nature of it. Got my weights off the floor.
