This product over exceeded my expections. Lots of cushion but still allows you to ballance nicely while doing yoga.

5 lilbunney
I purchased this yoga mat at my local Dick's Sporting Goods Store. I had been wanting a really good mat after attending Hot Yoga with an 'ordinary' Target - brand mat. I was slipping and sliding all over the place with my previous mat. With the Manduka PRO Mat, I was calm - cool - and stable. It was wonderful! It is a little slick at first( the protective coating has to wear off), but that will get better with time. I have become a Manduka fanatic after using this mat. FYI - it is a little heavy. I would recommend purchasing a yoga strap or yoga bag to haul this puppy around in.

5 Scout
I am looking forward to having a long relationship with this mat. I love it and it makes a huge difference on knees and feet with cushioning needed for my aging body. Highly recommend.... and buy it when you are young so you can use it for years and years. Save those knees and feet!

5 pingsid
The mat is 5 mm thick and very comfortable when on knees. However its not very sticky but other reviews say that it gets better with time.

5 Erica
it's firm yet supportive. does n't slip on hard surfaces. It is definitely worth the money. We were buying a cheaper mat and eventually it would start falling apart. This mat was a good purchase: -)

I was looking for a sturdy mat with better stickiness than the others I 've owned. This one cost significantly more than those and it's a good investment. I like that it's thicker too.

5 Har Har
Love the mat thickness and overall feel. Still hard to roll up.

5 juancuit
I have been using a good mat for yoga, though basic, it has helped me 6 months in my practice. This Manduka mat is really worth the price since it has enough cushioning, not so much that makes one lose balance but good for a head stand. Also, it has a great grip for positions when you press hard with hands and feet. It is long enough for me to fit laying down and it is n't that heavy. A very good product overall, I highly recoment it for anyone who practices yoga or even other sports.

5 AlbertM
I am just starting out with Yoga and this mat is perfect. It ’s beautifully simple and is really forgiving. It ’s also light and takes up minimal room. I would definitely buy it again.

5 Gaumondd
This pad had great grip so that my feet do not slide. It is dense and great for yoga

Good for a light gym mat, not for yoga ... If you want to have two mats this is a great option for the general fitness in a home

The texture of this mat is very grippy and rugged. It seems it would be good for general fitness, but not the greatest for yoga, which is half of why I bought it. If you want to have two mats this is a great option for the general fitness in a home gym.

5 Chawk58
Bought this in December... use it all the time... light weight and nonslip!

5 BamaGuy
This is absolutely the best yoga mat I ’ ve ever owned. It looks and performs like or better than MUCH more expensive mats! It ’s extra thick, with a much more substantial and luxurious feel. The extra grippy texture on the backside made sure my mat didn ’ t slip at all on the slick hardwood floors at my yoga studio. Finally, the beautiful marbling is also a huge plus - it really does look so much nicer than any may I ’ ve owned.

5 Julie
This Calia yoga mat is my favorite. Two best things are its length and grip. I ’ m 5 ’ 8 ” tall so many yoga mats are to short, not this one. I can keep my feet and hands on the matt. No more slippery grip cuz my feet don ’ t fit. The grip is amazing, even when my hands get sweaty. This mat is a bit on the heavier side but that ’s the trade off for the length and grip.

5 Mama H
This mat is my favorite so far! It is lightweight, easy to transport, very cute, comfortable, easily cleaned, and always gets compliments! I have the 5mm in terracotta. I wasn ’ t sure about the color at first, but I am definitely a fan now. I am always asked where I got this mat. If you are in need of a mat, head to Dick ’s Sporting Goods and get yourself one!

5 Theresa L.
This mat stood out to me because it wasn ’ t just plain black. The thickness was just right for me and I liked that it has the grip on one side and it is smooth on the other for comfort. This is not the softest mat from this brand but it has stood up to me degrading it all over town from studios to outside.

Great mat - nice and big - great color. A bit slippery until gets broken in.

5 Caliblueyogi
It took a while to break this in because of the film on the mat( you can clean it yourself but I didnt). Oddly enough this mat even smells good! Sturdy and with the right amount of stickiness. I got the midnight blue. Easy to wrap up! Length and width are perfect as well

5 Alana
I bought this to use at home and in the studio so I needed one that would last. You can feel the quality of the mat with and without a towel over it. Glad I finally upgraded!

5 Bootcamp Yogi
I actually picked this up for outdoor boot camp class. Our classes are held at an elementary school playground on the blacktop. It gets really dirty, unfortunately but the cushion is superior to cheaper mats and the grip was great on day one even though the package says you need to break it in a bit. I have a tailbone that sticks out so I need good padding. It's a great mat for yoga as well, of course.

5 Joanne
This is our 2nd mat. I received one from my husband and now he wants one. Very cushy and sturdy. Would highly recommend it.

5 Qwerty
[ Bought this as a gift for my younger sister and she absolutely loved it! Color is true to the original image. Soft texture. But supportive:)

5 MGM1123
[ So far I 've only used this for one class, but it is not slippery! I go to buti yoga, which is sort of like a combination between cardio and yoga, and I sweat, although I am not a heavy sweater. It involves a lot of downward dogs, and I felt much more stable than I did on my previous mat. My hands felt grounded and did not slide. The mat did seem a bit slick when I first received it, but I read lots of reviews and followed a few suggestions: leaving it out in the sun for a few hours( it was 80 degrees), rubbing a fine grain sandpaper over it( once over, applying a bit of force), and using a heavy duty scotch - brite sponge with some cleaner( I used Mrs. Meyers) before rinsing it off and letting it dry. I maybe spent 10 - 15 minutes using the sandpaper and cleaner. And it worked! I am hopeful that this is my soul mat.

5 Jojo
[ Love the color I got at such a great price! I did find it's a bit slippery so I used the 24 hour salt method and it is now my favorite yoga mat!

5 One Punchman 1973
[ Love these mats.. Great colors, thick and stable yet light for easy roll up and travel to your yoga class. Great for hot yoga and clean up and dry quickly. Always buy Manduka!!

5 mdog2200
[ I 've been doing yoga on this mat almost every day outside and keeping it outside in the shade through fog, sun, rain, everything and it's good as new every morning. Good grip as well.

[ I love this mat! Super light - weight and grippy for sweaty yoga flows! The color is awesome! The weight is perfect for traveling and is still very durable!

5 Kastar
[ I took my Manduka light on a trip to Europe and it fitted perfectly folded in my backpack. And it performs like the regular one. Just perfect.

5 TVTV
[ Awesome travel yoga mat. Like it's sister mats, this one is super sticky so you have good grip on your mat no matter what asana you choose; from Dancer, Warrior 2, or handstands, there will be no slippage on your mat! This mat folds up nicely for travel, easily fitting into a crammed suitcase then coming out as if it had never been folded. It's amazing. Bear in mind this is a travel mat therefore it is thin! May want additional padding underneath Once you reach your destination or you may desire a thin mat mat. Just know what you are ordering. It is unfair to the store and manufacturer, for you, a customer, to buy a travel mat then give it a poor rating because it's thin, when that is what a travel mats all about!!!

5 Altitude18
[ This is my second eKO SuperLite Yoga Mat. I keep one in my office for lunchtime yoga breaks, and the second goes backpacking with me. As it's lightweight, it is n't as well cushioned as my heavier Manduka mat, but it has excellent traction and folds down so packably small!

5 Jenn the young queen
[ All of the quality retained despite the lightness! I will be using this more than my usual mat now! excellent grip, it ’s perfect for me!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions For Sweat-Resistant Yoga Mat

When searching for a sweat-resistant yoga mat, consider features such as material composition, texture, and thickness. Mats made from high-quality, non-toxic materials often provide better grip and durability. Additionally, a textured surface can enhance traction during sweaty sessions, while a thicker mat can offer extra cushioning for comfort.

The material of a yoga mat plays a crucial role in its sweat resistance. Mats made from natural rubber or high-quality PVC tend to absorb moisture better and provide a non-slip surface. Synthetic materials may offer varying levels of moisture resistance, so it's essential to choose one that specifically mentions sweat resistance for optimal performance.

Thicker yoga mats can provide additional cushioning and comfort, which may be beneficial during sweaty practices. However, the thickness should be balanced with stability; too thick of a mat can make it harder to maintain balance in certain poses. Ultimately, the best choice depends on personal preference and the type of yoga being practiced.

Yes, a sweat-resistant yoga mat can be versatile enough for various workouts beyond yoga. Its moisture-wicking properties make it suitable for activities like Pilates, stretching, or even high-intensity interval training. Just ensure that the mat provides adequate grip and support for the specific movements involved in those workouts.

To maintain the quality of a sweat-resistant yoga mat, regular cleaning is essential. Wipe it down after each use with a gentle cleaner or a mixture of water and vinegar to remove sweat and bacteria. Additionally, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent degradation of the material over time.
