I took a pretty big slam to the back of my head on my first ride with this helmet and I ’ m not brain dead so I ’ m gon na say it works as advertised. Im actually pretty surprised the helmet is still intact as well. I didn ’ t feel hot or cold with it, so that ’s cool. Style is subjective.

It was super cold so I wore a smartwool liner, it had enough room for another liner. Didn ’ t have to use the vents yet since it was super cold, so I can ’ t comment on that feature. I have oddly sensitive ears and get pain from standard ear pads on most helmets, but the mod5 has ear cups with a hollow space inside that fit perfectly. So, this helmet might not be the most inexpensive but it is a name brand from a trusted retailer( I will not take my chance on other sites where they may try to pass a counterfeit), it is light and comfortable, warm, and looks good. The vents direct air to the inside of my goggles to help with preventing fog. My hand hit the dial on back which loosened the helmet only once by accident. I have a `` medium '' sized head( when wearing adjustable trucker hats I snap over 3- 4 holes) but I went with the large since I ride with a beanie about half the time. Without a beanie it is on about it's tightest setting and fits perfect. I have fallen on this thing twice both times very rough falls. I fell so hard the first time I would have had a SEVERE concussion if not wearing a helmet. No cracks or anything and the helmet handled it just fine. Back to the slopes I go!

Love the fit and I 'm able to wear my head phones. There's a small zipper section in the back of the helmet to put your headphones of they are not buds, but have a wire. Very comfortable. Good air flow too.

Form and fit are VG. Moisture does collect in the upper dome, however. There are exhaust vents at the rear. Suggest a vent on top similar to motorcycle helmets that could be left closed or opened to allow mroe venting.

Love this helmet/color. Feels very light weight but supportive. Keeps your head warm but gives the options to vent if needed. Clip is easy to use. Comfortable helmet to wear overall. It will scuff easily. So if traveling with it, use the bag it came with or pack in a suitcase.

After 20 years I finally started skiing again so this is my first helmet purchase for myself. My son started snowboarding in 2019 and we purchased this same helmet for him and he loves it. We looked at every helmet on the shelf a DSGoods and the design, comfort and price point made this our choice again. We never wore helmets in the 80 ’s- 90 ’s but now I truly understand why it ’s important and practical now. It ’s comfortable, warm, and vented so it ’s cool if needed.
