There are two separate burners. The inside grate is in two pieces and we got the pan accessory so we can be grilling on one side and heating stuff in a pan on the other side. The drip pan is great. You just put water in it and any grease drips right in the water making it so easy to clean up. The regulator is easy to attach and simple so it would be really hard to strip it accidentally. I ’ ve had my griddle for a year and used about twice a month and my top has absolutely no deterioration or excessive wear. The griddle has never seen any metal cooking utensils or abrasive cleaning products or tools. I use only Pit Boss utensils for the griddle and clean with Dawn soap, water and the Pit Boss scrub pad( recommended by Pit Boss). Another tip would be to not use oil( as you would with a steel grill). I use butter and only enough to flavor. My experience is better than most reviews. You can ’ t treat this griddle like a steel top.

Have had this for about 5 weeks, and cooked steaks, burgers, hash browns, eggs,& vegies. The cooking heat range is exceptional compared to my old grill. I bought a laser heat gauge to fine tune the exact heat I want, and it works great. The control knobs maintain the exact heat I want. Clean- up is the best part of this griddle. Start to finish less than 10 minutes, including re- oil for next use. The steaks maintain the juice inside, unlike my old grill, where the juice fell through the grills. I wonder if some of the long- term complaints are due to failure to maintain the griddle with oil and after use maintenance. My only complaint is I waited to long to switch from grill to griddle

Long honest review here and I want to start this review off with this is my very first full sized griddle. I have always just used the Camp Chef Sidekick Griddle on the Woodwind Smoker. Before buying I put in my time researching and looking at reviews and I am so happy I went with The Gridiron 36. This thing is sturdy, easy to use, and just looks badass. I am about 2 months in and keep saying I ’ m glad I stuck with Camp Chef equipment. First it arrived in perfect condition and was easy to put together. Everything about it is fantastic. The lid is awesome and love how it ’s connected for easy on and off. The four burners and ignition is great and have not had a single issue. Extremely quiet when I turn it on. The shelves on the side are useful for everyday cooking and yes the one above the propane tank doesn ’ t fold down but that ’s okay I don ’ t fold them down to begin with even with the cover. Grease management is a breeze and love that it ’s in the front and easy access from underneath. I have the cover and griddle mat which I strongly suggest. IF you want some kind of critique or one thing I wish was different. I wish the line for the propane was not directly up front and in the rear, kind of hidden, but that ’s purely cosmetic and does not affect a thing. I ’ m over it already. My buddies have a popular competitor griddle and it just looks small and not as well built as the Gridiron 36. Next up is buying some of the magnetic attachments. After every cook I think I verbally say to my wife I ’ m glad I chose Camp Chef again!

I did have an initial issue with one of the burner nacklights not working and they sent me out a new know with backlight immediately, no problem at all. I 've been using my BBQ grill box with my Explorer for 10+ years. It has been used as an every- day grill, camping grill, party grill, baseball tournament grill, etc... very heavy usage. Zero issues. I estimate that I have prepared over 300 meals with it. The grill box has now worn out( the grate plate below the cooking surface finally rusted and broke through and is coming apart). I purchased. BB30 BBQ for my Pro 60 14 ” stove. After purchase I found that the BBQ would not close completely with the pizza stone inserted in the BBQ. The two tabs that secure the BBQ grate during transport provide an interference with the pizza stone. Without modification of the tabs, these two items are not compatible with one another. The modification was simple for me and I am now happy with my purchase, but not all buyers will have the ability to make them work together. Buyer beware. Camp Chef has been a part of my family for forty years- this is the first issue I have had with three stoves and many accessories.

I purchased my Woodridge grill a few weeks ago and have cooked on it four times so far. I absolutely love this wood pellet grill. Being able to control all aspects of cooking by using the Traeger app on my phone is amazing. One of the things the app does is alert me when the meat I am cooking has reached the desired internal temperature. Because of this, I can check on the status of what I am cooking from anywhere. If you purchase a Traeger grill, the wifi feature is definitely worth the money.

I have owned many grills and smokers. The Traeger Ironwood is by far the best. The largest issue of owning a pellet grill is the maintenance. If you use it a lot and do n't clean out the ash box and the grease build up it can create many issues. The design of the Ironwood makes cleaning almost fun. It is by FAR the simplistic cleaning process for any pellet fed. The Traeger also rules king for all the other very important items, temp regulation, waterproof design, superior app connectivity, durability all design, etc. My only complaint would be the probe situation. The wired probes work flawlessly. I do n't like that we are restricted to a certain wireless probe that works directly with the Traeger app though. This is not a large issue, they do have a wireless option and I have not used it, but I do n't want to be tied to one wireless option. I am sure they have the capability to integrate their app with other wireless probe manufacturers which could resolve this issue.

This smoker adds the extra smoke I was looking for on my meat. I smoked a few pork butts and they all turned out amazing. The smoke ring was awesome. The meat was tender and juicy. The room in this smoker is twice the space I had on my MZG 24 smoker. The temperature stayed consistent and was always within 3- 5 degrees off set temperature. The vertical chamber is great for not losing heat. When I would open the lid to my MZG 24 smoker, the temperature would drop ten degrees or more. I do n't get but a couple degree drop when I open the door to the XXL Pro. Probably due to the vertical design. I would say the smoke box is also great addition to adding extra smoke at whatever level you desire. The Wi- Fi, blue tooth controller works well. I really like this smoker.

My XXL has been in use now for several months. There no significant issues with assembly. The door fits and swings well and easily. The temperature controller works as advertised. The smoke box does the job easily and neatly. Pork Butts, Pork Ribs, Chicken, Turkey, Beef of various cuts have all turned out delicious. It is supremely easy to use. The wheels make it easy to move around, thought the legs tend to vibrate and chatter a bit on uneven pavement. The pellet hopper is huge and easy to fill and monitor. Even the WiFi connection/controller works well. Nice unit.

I also would have appreciated some sort of fun little recipe guide to get going. One thing I would fix though is the spot that you put the grease/mess into. Mine seems like it is a little on the crooked side, but everything looks even when you have it removed from the griddle.

I could n't believe how easily it setup, cleaned up and made a ton of food for every that came that day. It worked so well that my wife and I ordered one immediately to use on our own trips, gatherings and just some Sunday morning cookout fun. We also purchased the two burner griddle and griddle carrying bags for both the stove and griddle, so nice to keep everything neat and sorted. I 've only used it a couple of times so far but one thing i really noticed was how nice the burner control is, you can turn it down all the way and not worry about the burner flaming out. My only complaint which is minor is that the flip out red lid covers do n't sit completely flat like my friends did. Perhaps they will wear in with a bit more use.

Since we bought this for memorial day and didn ’ t get a chance to use it all summer I was starting to have buyers remorse. But after using it one long weekend I ’ m in love. We bought the griddle and the grill accessories. One of my favorite things is that which ever one I ’ m not using acts is a warmer as I continue cooking other food. I literally planned an entire three day weekend of cooking around my new camp chef cooking system even though we have a camper with a stove and oven. I wasn ’ t sure I needed the pro with the flip out shelves but now I can ’ t imagine not having them. Worth every penny.
