[ I ’ ve used this compression sack a number of times and am looking forward to using it on our upcoming water park trip. For the waterproof test, I sprayed the thing with a garden hose, on “ gentle rain ” setting for 30 seconds with my down bag in there to see how it would perform in wet conditions. Overall, it does what it says it does, keeps the contents dry and vents out excess air when the system is compressed. Highly recommend.

So I 've been wanting to upgrade my stock compression bag that came with my sleeping bag for a while now, and wow is the Evac HD absolutely perfect. The 35 L size makes getting a bulky sleeping bag in and compressed a cinch, and the rugged material is perfect for mounting on the outside of a backpack! What's the most impressive, though, is the eVent technology that really allows the sleeping bag to be compressed more than any other type of dry bag, as the air can be pushed out of the bottom through the eVent material. Frankly, I 'm absolutely thrilled with this thing!
5
Drew C.
I have been using the eVac dry bags for years. They are a great way to keep sleeping bags and extra layers dry while gaining room in your bag. The new HD fabric is bomber. I will use it with a roll- top dry bag to keep my sleeping bag dry all summer on the river. These are the best compression bags I have ever used.

I am a backcountry fishing guide and I beat on my gear pretty hard. I ’ ve been using the 13L dry bag to keep my sleeping bag compressed and protected from moisture and it works awesome. It ’s super durable and easy to use. I highly recommend this product- it ’s a massive upgrade from a standard sleeping bag stuff sack!

I absolutely love this bag, for those extended trips where weather is expected and water crossing are necessary this bag provides me the mental security to navigate those with ease. I ’ ll never have to be concerned with small punctures or it getting rubbed against harder items in my pack. This bag is a must for my down gear.

I bought these for a backpacking trip to use as a stuff sack for my down sleeping bag. The large one is great for that and for hanging your cooking clothes in bear country. We got some light rain and it held up to that. I use the smaller ones for my puffy coat and as a leakproof bag for toiletries.

Kid Colt
Used these bags as a little extra added security for electronics that were `` water resistant '' for a recent hike of the Inca Trail. If you 're looking for waterproof or something that could be completely submerged, I would spend the money and buy a higher grade bag. You ca n't beat the price for what I use them for.

I bought these for my son to bring to Scout camp& I ’ m very glad I did. He packed all the wet things in these and they worked perfectly. The rest of the stuff in his pack stayed dry. Before that he also used them to keep extra socks dry on a very rainy day. He said they worked perfectly. We ’ ll be bringing them on our trips to the beach, too.

[ This is my go too stuff sack in this price range. It has held up in some heavy brush and kayaking trips. It fits all my sleeping bags. It compresses well. I took this bag out on a 15 mile trek with new people to hiking. I showed them the importance of a good quality dry bag, as it started to rain! A couple asked me where to go to get one and I said Sea to Summit.

This is a great product for just about any sport that involves any sort of water. This spends most of the winter on my snowmobile keeping backup layers dry, and has held up really well. These ca n't get wet extra layers are essential in the backcountry, but I never have to worry about that with this bag. In the summer this transitions onto my bike and can take the wear and tear of being strapped on externally. I had an older version of these bags, but the new one is easier to use and more streamlined. The compression feature is well worth the( minimal) additional weight as it takes up way less space and gives you more options to strap the bags onto other things.

13L is the perfect size for my 20 degree down sleeping bag. It ’s critical to keep down dry and having the compression straps turn a full size down bag into the size of a small basketball which frees up lots of space in my backpack for other items. I have an older version of this bag that still works well but the new quick release buckles on this model make it easier to use. Note that you do need to be patient for the eVent to work. It ’s a dry bag so water can ’ t get in but air can escape with compression out of the eVent fabric. Pro tip: roll the top closed once and add pressure to get out a lot of the air, then add two more rolls and clip closed. Pull the bottom over the top and using constant pressure keep cinching the straps alternating sides for and even compression. Another quality piece of gear by Sea to Summit. Two thumbs up.

I have been using the EVX 13 L dry bag when paddling, climbing, camping and bikepacking. This bag is amazing! It is light, tough and above all keeps the weather out. I took this out on a multi- day bikepacking trip which turned into a multi- day snow and rain event. I stored my down jacket and other `` need to stay dry so you do n't cry '' items in it( down jacket/pants). Everything stayed perfectly dry. The compression straps allow me to get my gear into small areas in my bike bags without compromising the integrity of my gear. The compression straps worked super smooth, no twisting or locking up. I travel to remote locations, most of the time solo( unless guiding). I need to know that I can count on my gear to keep me in the backcountry as long as I want and not have to leave due to equipment failure or poor design. The EVAC bag is amazing. I am going to purchase more and I highly recommend it to anyone that spends time exploring, or traveling in areas you know the weather will test and punish the your gear.

Waterproof compression sacks are designed to protect your gear from moisture while also reducing its volume for easier packing. They are ideal for outdoor activities like camping, hiking, or kayaking, where keeping your belongings dry is crucial. Additionally, their compressible design allows for efficient use of space in your backpack or luggage.
Waterproof compression sacks are typically made from durable, lightweight materials such as nylon or polyester, often treated with waterproof coatings. These materials help to prevent water ingress while maintaining a low weight for easy transport. Many also feature reinforced seams and closures to enhance their durability and water resistance.
Choosing the right size waterproof compression sack depends on the volume of gear you need to store and the type of activities you'll be doing. Consider the amount of clothing, sleeping gear, or other items you plan to pack, and select a size that accommodates your needs while allowing for compression. It's also helpful to think about how much space you have in your backpack or storage area.
Yes, waterproof compression sacks are versatile and can be used for various activities beyond camping. They are great for travel, boating, or any outdoor adventure where you need to protect your belongings from water. Additionally, they can be useful for organizing items in your home or during storage, especially in damp environments.
The primary difference between waterproof compression sacks and regular compression sacks is the added water resistance feature. Waterproof compression sacks are designed with materials and closures that prevent water from entering, making them suitable for wet conditions. Regular compression sacks may not offer the same level of protection, making them less ideal for outdoor use in inclement weather.
