I wear an 8 in most shoes, but I use orthotics because of my high instep arches, so I went one size larger and with my black Thorlo roll top socks they are very comfortable and fit perfect. [ This Keen Targhee Apex is a comfortable shoe! One of the first things I noticed is how quiet the outsole and midsole were when walking around the store on carpet and cement. They 've since been on a dusty hike and a rainy road- to- trail hike. Nice cushioning, stability, and no dust nor water got inside the shoes. Since these shoes are nearly white you can see that some dirt has stayed in the crease on the forefooot even after being hosed off.( Again, no water got inside.) Fit wise, these have a neutral insole, roomier toebox, and wider heel. To keep my foot from sliding forward and to have a better fit for my heel I will add Superfeet insoles. This shoe runs true to size so I went up 1/2 a size to allow for swelling on longer and hot hikes. Nice shoe. I look forward to seeing how it feels after putting more miles on it.

This was my first pair of hikers. I love Keen shoes, so decided to try the Targhee Apex in the Abby stone/birch color. They were on sale for 25 percent off, which was a good price. They are light weight and cute, not clunky looking. The color is cute and not something everyone is wearing. However, I have a lazy baby toe, so need a little more room in the toe box. I 've been trying to find good 'intermediate' boots for snowshoeing for over a year. I bought several pairs and returned them all. These are exactly what I was looking for. They are waterproof, warm, and have stiff enough uppers for cinching down snowshoe bindings. They also have great tread and decent edging ability on hard, steep snow when not using snowshoes. Since it is a waterproof shoe, you can expect it to be a little bit tighter obviously to help keep water out during rainy training days. The second time I wore them they felt much better and didn ’ t feel as tight. I normally go half a size or a full size up for running shoes. I ’ m normally a 9, but did a 9. 5. The cushion on these shoes is amazing. They have the new zoom cushion which is super comfortable and you can wear out for long periods of time. I did a few recovery runs in this shoe during the rain storms we have been having and they did great on concrete with rain, road with rain, and some softer terrain with muddy surfaces. I didn ’ t feel like I would slip or anything while running- the grip on these shoes is amazing.

Ryka shoes are my new favorites. My first Ryka purchase was a pair of Echo Knit Slip- on Sneakers and they fit like they were made specifically for my feet. Same thing with these LX Walking Sneakers. They hug the feet with no rubbing in any unwanted spots. They are lightweight, very cushioned and have excellent arch support. I have a long narrow foot and have a difficult time finding walking/running shoes that are narrow enough for my feet but Ryka, medium width are narrower than other brands I 've tried. I 'd recommend you order the wide width if you typically wear medium width in other brands. I 'd also recommend sizing up ½ size if these will be used for walking/running. I mistakenly ordered the same size as the Echo Knit Slip- ons I had- 8. 5 medium- but for running I should have ordered a half size larger. It's too late to return them because I 've already worn them outside for a run, but they are great for just wearing around. I guess I 'll need to order a 3rd pair of my new favorite shoes!!

I like these boots. I work in a prison and needed a black boot that looks smart and conforms to our uniform dress code. There really isnt a lot out there for women which fit the bill. I always go for the XA Pro 3D. I don ’ t normally go for the Goretex. As others have mentioned, this and other models are longer than in previous years. I ’ ve always gone with the same size& had to size down a half size for all shoes this year. The Goretex liner is built into the upper tongue area better than in previous years- no more sock to slip into- or it wouldn ’ t be an option for me. The toe cap& sole are key for features for me. Fortunately the sides( near the ankle) are lower- some of the previous Goretex models were too high. The lacing system doesn ’ t seem as durable as previous models& I hope it holds up. Thats my only concern. The stiff soles( that I want) make them a bit less comfortable than some of the lighter shoes but these are great for legit hiking.

I am very impressed with this shoe. I live a very cold, snowy climate and we had a surprise early snow and my boots were still in storage from a move. I was worried that because they were waterproof they ’ d be too hot but my feet have never gotten hot. You do need to put inserts in them as they have no arch support but I just put my normal inserts in and they were good to go! I sized up a half size.

Only shoe I 've ever worn, that I can honestly say I feel like I 'm walking on clouds. My typical stance has me putting pressure on all the wrong places of my feet. I 'm usually standing in one place and shifting my weight back and forth. It has caused me foot problems. With these shoes on, I 've found myself correcting my stance equally because it caused no pain. Walking was a dream. The RS Walking Sneaker is nice looking and very comfortable. I got the B& W and thought they were white but they ’ re more of an off white. I just moved, still moving boxes around, and up and down stairs, etc. It ’s all me, no help. In addition, I do HIIT 4- 5 days a week. My lower back has been so achy and tired. I bought these shoes a week ago and have been wearing them to do things in the apt. I have metcon trainers for my workouts but I ’ ve run errands in these, carried boxes, and had my generally nuts 11 hr days in the Rykas- my feet and my back are so much better wearing these( plus they make me 2 ” taller!). History: I ’ m on my feet on hard floors for 8- hour shifts at work. My job involves a lot of movement, walking, and standing. I ’ ve gone through so many pairs of shoes trying to find some that give me the support I need. Even among APMA- approved shoes, I ’ ve had a lot that didn ’ t measure up. They fit weird, the support wore down too fast, and they still required some additional insoles! And my feet still hurt. All the time. DEVOTED: Are there magic springs inside?? These almost propel you by themselves. They ’ re lightweight, comfortable, SUPPORTIVE, and won ’ t cause foot pain! They are my only pair of shoes I haven ’ t stuffed a separate insole into. They ’ re excellent. Having properly supportive shoes helps the rest of my body to be able to perform my duties without misery. The fit: Perfect length and width. The “ these run big ” bit seems to come from the ample height. There ’s plenty of room for swollen feet, thick socks, or whatever your feet desire. I have no squished toes, but my feet aren ’ t sliding around. They aren ’ t designed to be worn without socks. If I had ordered down, they wouldn ’ t be quite long enough. To Ryka: well done! These are fantastic. I hope they hold up to the heavy use I ’ ll be putting them through, but they are the BEST shoes I have ever worn. Loads more colors, please! Thank you! My feet are happy. It ’s my day off and I want my work shoes on because they feel like heaven.

I work outdoors and walk tens of thousands of steps every day in every possible type of weather. I 've tried boots from several other brands/stores, and finally, after hearing me repeatedly complain about said failed footwear, my brother recommended Merrell. I 've only been wearing them for a few weeks, and while my feet have been delightfully dry( yes, they 're 100% waterproof even in standing water), I 'm wary about whether or not they will last as another brand or two also managed to keep themselves together for a few short months before disintegrating miserably and proving themselves not worth my money. So, while I 'm cautiously optimistic that my Merrells will outlast their competitors, I can confidently say that these are unequivocally the most lightweight, comfy and waterproof boot I have tried. Did n't even give me blisters as they broke in! All around, I 'm in love with the boots and am just desperately hoping their longevity is as impressive as their first impression.

I began eyeing these boots( along with a few other pairs of Danners) when I really got into hiking this past year, but was hesitant to purchase as I 've seen a million reviews( on literally every hiking boot ever made) that talks about the break- in requirement and resulting blisters, foot pain, lost toenails and the likes. I committed to a winter hiking hut trip this past month and knew that I needed something waterproof and after window shopping( literally every boot tailored for women who love the great outdoors) kept coming back to these. After weeks of considering my options, I decided to take the plunge on these. I received my order about 10 days before the hut trip. The first day I trying them on they felt great, but the second day( when I intended to start wearing them every minute of every day to break them in pre- trip) I noticed that they felt quite roomy, despite having ordered exactly as the size chart indicated. I immediately began looking for a half size smaller and low and behold, they were sold out everywhere. Despite my immediate panic, with lack of better options I ended up committing to the size ordered paired with a thick pair of wool socks for the trip( 6. 5ish miles each way, 2kish in elevation gain on the way up). I am delighted to report that despite feeling a bit roomy when I tried them on, the wool socks made the fit perfect. The trip up proved to be the most foot- comfy hike I 've ever had! My feet stayed entirely warm, which has never happened without Hot Hands in my socks in winter hikes for me. Beyond that, the boots were completely submerged in snow due to post- holing multiple times throughout the weekend, but my feet stayed 100% dry the entire trip. These paired well with my Kahtoola microspikes and Orvis snowshoes. All in all I 'm completely impressed and can not wait to hike more in these boots. If you have gear anxiety and are on the fence about ordering these( like I was), I highly encourage you to get off the fence and order! My initial impression is that this is the best boot purchase I could 've made.
