This is similar to the Mytsery Tackle Box, which I also think is a great gift. But I am very happy I bought this as a Christmas gift for my father, for serendipitous reasons. Storytime: every May, he and I take a guided weekend fishing trip up to Lake St. Clair. We always bring and use our own tackle, and last trip our guide took us to a spot we had never fished before. It was weedy, and I ended up throwing a weedless jig I had in my tackle box, which matched the color that we always have the most success( e. g. Rapala Blue Ghost color). It was a swim jig, and I added a Powerbait craw trailer. In that one section, I landed a dozen bass in the 2- 4 pound range. It was very weedy with a lot of slop, and the jig moved perfectly through everything without getting hung up, or getting covered in slop with each cast. The problem was that( a) I only had one jig of that type and color; and( b) I had ZERO IDEA of the brand! I spent many hours online afterwards trying to find the exact jib for purchase, with zero luck... until my father opened the Rapala Bass Boom Box. As he pulled each item out... he took out the EXACT jig I used( climax: it is the Thunder Hawk Mouse Head Grass Jig). This shows one of the great aspects of these Boxes: you will get things you might never have thought of trying- or even knew existed!

Everyone knows these are hard to find. This is about an 85% copy of that other brand that everyone wants. It ’s slightly bigger at 19mm. The legs have decent or “ good enough ” action. At first I was very skeptical about the googan baits but I decided to give a few different styles a try. The bandito bug has turned into my favorite flipping creature/craw soft plastic. Whether it ’s a pegged texas rig, jig trailer or my favorite... a Picasso wobble head. It always catches fish. When I first saw the bait in person, I thought it was too little for the lakes I fish but once I saw the action under water, I was very surprised at how wide those back legs kicked.. it gave it a larger appearance which was perfect. And that scent is amazing. Stays strong until the bait is unable to use. And yes, they are a little soft and can break easy but that ’s the price you pay for a bait with good action.

I used to use rage craws, but as we all know, one fish and the craw was toast! Sometimes just a bite would tear the claws off rendering it useless. This is the solution! I use them Texas rigged, for pitching and flipping, and they work GREAT as jig trailers. I can fish with one bait all day because of how strong they are, but also they have better action then most any other rage tail product. Try these and you wo n't go back.

They do get torn up easily, but the fish kept hitting them. I had a claw fall off one and caught another five fish on it anyways. Best soft plastic I 've used in a while. I 've fished this frog in ponds that get a lot of fishing pressure, and caught dozens of bass like I was fishing somebody's private pond! I reccomend fishing it with braided line though, so you do n't get your heart broken when what would 've been your PB breaks your line. Theres multiple ways to fish this frog, but either way you 're gon na catch fish on this frog. It's a pretty durable soft plastic, but after several fish you may need to rehook it or put a new frog on. Depends on how feisty your fish is! Overall though, this is definitely a soft plastic bait you need for your tackle arsenal.

Been using swimming flukes since they came out... have caught bass, snook, reds and speckled trout. Use them as a swimbait Texas rigged with a pegged bullet weight. These poppers work great. I noticed that the bass in the pond I was fishing were chasing sunnies and scarfing them up so I grabbed one of these poppers that had bright gold on it with some white and blue. Seemed to mimic a sunny pretty well. My first cast I let it sit there for about 20 seconds, then gave it a few twitches and a bass nailed it. I let him take it then set the hook. I landed a 3 pounder. I could n't be happier. A good bargain too at$ 9. 99 for 3 poppers and I had coupons and discounts so they were even cheaper.
