I work outdoors and walk tens of thousands of steps every day in every possible type of weather. I 've tried boots from several other brands/stores, and finally, after hearing me repeatedly complain about said failed footwear, my brother recommended Merrell. I 've only been wearing them for a few weeks, and while my feet have been delightfully dry( yes, they 're 100% waterproof even in standing water), I 'm wary about whether or not they will last as another brand or two also managed to keep themselves together for a few short months before disintegrating miserably and proving themselves not worth my money. So, while I 'm cautiously optimistic that my Merrells will outlast their competitors, I can confidently say that these are unequivocally the most lightweight, comfy and waterproof boot I have tried. Did n't even give me blisters as they broke in! All around, I 'm in love with the boots and am just desperately hoping their longevity is as impressive as their first impression.

I 've been trying to find good 'intermediate' boots for snowshoeing for over a year. I bought several pairs and returned them all. These are exactly what I was looking for. They are waterproof, warm, and have stiff enough uppers for cinching down snowshoe bindings. They also have great tread and decent edging ability on hard, steep snow when not using snowshoes. I knew these would be great since I own at least 5 pairs of Chaco boots, including the regular Fields Chelsea ones. I have high arches so I know I can always count on Chacos to be supportive. They are TTS, comfy, and of course look great. I have two small complaints though- The arch support seemingly hits my arch a few millimeters too far back. It's not uncomfortable but it's enough to notice it and this has not been the case with any of my other Chaco boots. I know everyone's arches are in slightly different places so maybe I 'm just weird. The other thing I wish they would change is the shape of the lace hooks. They look sharp( as in stylish), but they are also literally sharp, in such a way that if you do n't carefully guide the laces around them, they split the laces and cause them to get stuck. This happens like half the time I wear them and as a result, the laces are starting to look sloppy already as the different threads have been getting pulled. I still love these boots and am happy I bought them, but I will probably need to replace the laces soon.

The lead actress on our show bought the Iron Ranger boot the same week that I had bought my red wings. The boots are very comfortable after wearing them over a couple weeks. I knew this would be the case based on my other RedWing work boots. I ended up with a size 8 shoe even though I usually wear a size 7 because of the insole that the salesperson recommended. My feet were very tight for a little while until the shoes were broken in. I love the look of the boots for wearing around the office because I hate wearing high heels. The only down side is they squeak very loud whenever I walk on a smooth hard surface, such as tile. OMG I CAN NOT say enough about these boots.... I will be ordering them in all 3 colors. I had yet to find a hiking boot that didnt cause me foot pain, blisters, or hot spots.... until now.
