My foot size is 8. 5 regular. The boot size is the same but it feels `` spacious ''. Not too long or short or even wide but ample- enough to accommodate a thick sock. My advice would be that if your foot is low volume or on the small side of the size like mine, order down, if your foot is high volume, order your size, and if your foot is on the high side, order up. A size 8 might have been perfect for me but might not have been roomy enough for thick socks. It's a trade off. The boot leather is super thick but the boots were comfortable right out of the box. No break in required. So far they 're holding up well. The steel toe has not been a problem in the winter cold or summer heat. It is not a factor except when a chunk of wood slips out of my tired hands. I had to learn the need of a steel toe the hard way. I only wish Timberland attached a pull loop to the heel. They put one on their loafers but not on a 6 '' boot. Unusual. A loop would help with the on/off process. What would also help would be lace hooks in place off the top two lace holes. With lace holes the laces have to be pulled down and out to loosen them to widen the boot for removal. You ca n't just kick these boots off. Neither of the above nit picks is a deal breaker. I love these waffle stompers.

I have had these boots for 5 years. Humping through the snowy mountains of Vermont on the job. Taking them off and on tens of thousands of times in customers homes. They have gone under many houses, crawlspaces, and under porches. In knee walls and trenches. Put away so wet that my socks were soaked the next morning( step in knee high snow and any boot is gon na get wet). I 've only had to change the laces on one boot. All I ask is that my boots hold up to the abuse I put them through. I wore them untied during the summer even, and the backside of the inner heel has just started to wear through. Only on one side again! They are waterproof, durable, comfortable and dang if they do n't look good. OMG I CAN NOT say enough about these boots.... I will be ordering them in all 3 colors. I had yet to find a hiking boot that didnt cause me foot pain, blisters, or hot spots.... until now. The boots are great! Handled spring time in Colorado so raining, ice, sleet and then snow all in one day. I mucked horse stalls and had very warm feet while doing that chore. Have always loved Sorel boots and needed a new boot with good traction because my arches have fallen and feet have spread. Over the years the boots have gone from being roomy in the toe area to more narrow and fashion oriented. I was afraid this boot wouldn ’ t be wide enough in the toe box to accommodate my bad bunions. At first look, I could n't see where the insulation was located, but after being out in the yard in the winter, I 've been amazed at how warm my feet have felt. I bought these to wear for myself as an adult. I have small feet and the children's sizes are significantly less expensive than the adult ones. These also have a lower temperature rating than the adult sizes for keeping your feet warmer. I have had a few times where the snow was deep enough it got into the holes on the sides used to help pull up the boot. As an adult, I would prefer those not be there. However, for a small child who may need help getting dressed, they seem to make sense. I have walked long distances in them pretty comfortably. I like that they can be tightened, but fit snug enough to use as a slip on boot. My only complaint is that they are not attractive for an adult woman( Again, they are designed for kids!) and that the tread on the bottom could be a little meatier. I live in a cold and icy place. I was needing a boot that I did n't need to lace up, kept my toes a bit more warm, and had traction. This boot is that! I previously was wearing my blundstones but on- 20 F nights I just was n't having it anymore! I 've now been wearing these Bogs for a few weeks and in( almost) all sorts of condition. They were definitely a bit stiff the first 2 weeks I 'd say. But now my foot easily slips in and out of the shoe. I noticed a little bit of rubbing on my ankle in those first two weeks but that has gone away. I have high arches and usually put some inserts into my shoes. I tried that for a bit with these and found it to be a little tight. They are comfortable without the inserts but I might try again in the future once they are completely broken in. Overall, happy with my purchase! I have only kind of slipped on the ice once- which is great great improvement from before! Woohoo!

I wear size 6 1/2 but was advised to go up a half size since my feet are wide. They were too tight so I got size 7 1/2 and they feel much better but I am breaking them in before a winter trip to Japan where we will be doing a lot of walking. The boots are a simple style which I love and will keep my feet warm. I looked at many other winter boots on several websites and none can compare to the Cedar Quilt and I love the color green so this was perfect. I will attach two photos to the review. Snow pants fit over the boots nicely. Alas, the sizing is off. The toe box is very narrow. I have an average weight foot and generally wear medium width( average) shoes and boots comfortably with mid weight socks. I purchased size 9. 5 in this boot which is my regular size for boots. Not only was the toe box much too narrow, but my toes were pushed against the toe of the boot.

[ I bought a pair Korkers Polar Vortex 1200g boots after my kids talked me into. They ate like mini furnaces on your feet. They are crazy waterproof. [ I bought these for ice fishing. I needed a boot to be super warm& waterproof. Something that will still feel warm at 50mph and subzero air. These totally fit the bill. Very comfortable. The `` Boa system '' is really cool. Instead of leather or cotton laces, it's a wire system that tightens up to your comfort when you twist the button on the front. When you want `` out '' you pull the button out and the tongue loosens right up. Very convenient. I would recommend this boot for mostly active activities. I 'd to walk miles in them they are so comfortable, they also feel very sturdy and supportive which you 'd want in an ice fishing boot.

I do n't mind these boots but they feel more like a winter boot than a rainboot. They are quite heavy for a rainboot and they rub on your lower calf/upper ankle if they 're not snug. I wish I would have went down a half size or worn thicker socks. You must wear taller socks so it does n't rub on your skin. [ The materials, color, and safety attributes of these boots initially appealed to me. I wear work/safety boots six days a week, 12+ hours a day. The Carhartt Ironwood boots fit exactly right, and are unexpectedly comfortable. The soles absorb shock and are comfortable all day. The insulation is just right too. My feet usually sweat in boots, but stayed very warm did not sweat in these. The only improvement I would make is to use something other than hiking boot laces. I ’ m very satisfied with them and would highly recommend.

I 'm in love with these boots, and I receive compliments on them everywhere I go( light tan color)! However, I have a size 5 shoe, and these start at 5. 5( really wish more shoe manufacturers made shoes starting at a 5!), so they are a little big, even with socks. Even though they are a little big, they are warm, easy to slip on when running out the door, and look great with leggings and jeans. Highly recommend them!
