If you get the fit right, they do n't pull your socks down when you walk. Very good for walking unlink the tradition tall boots. Where I live( Washington DC) we do n't get crazy amounts of snow, but we will have the occasional winter storm and get 6- 10 inches or so. I needed a boot to keep my feet warm and dry when I walk my dog, run errands, etc. But I did n't need super heavy duty boot to shovel snow in. I chose this because I liked that the shaft was n't too high, so I could still wear it with most of my pants. We just had a winter storm. The snow was deep enough that it covered my entire boot and yet they kept my feet SUPER warm and I did n't feel slippery when walking on ice. The waterproof material kept my feet dry, and they are also SUPER CUTE! I am a true 7. 5( according to the size chart; my feet are 24 cm), but I still ordered a size 8 based on reviews saying it ran small, and I think I made the right decision. I think if I ordered my exact size I would n't have room to wear thick socks.

Super happy I purchased these winter boots. We do n't get snow often but when we do the city is horrible at managing it and these boots are a game changer. Pulling my kiddo up hills in the forest to go sledding, they managed the terrain. They kepts my feet dry, warm and super cozy. I went up a half size and there is still a bit of room for super super thick socks. So I 'd say probably go with your normal size. I am so happy with my purchase.

Thanks SOREL for supplying me with work shoes! This is my fourth pair of Sorel boots. I have worn them for years. These shoes get beat up and worn out. I have gotten rid of one pair, a suede pair, because after years of being in the elements they were not looking very professional anymore- but the shoe was still holding up minus the, understandably, worn down tread on the ball of the foot. The Emelie can be slipped on and off! Totally love this feature in a bootie. I ’ m still breaking them in but the foot shape that Sorel uses fits my “ pizza ” feet well( thinner mid foot and slightly wider toe splay). I sized 1/2 down for the Emelie because the last pair of boots I bought broke in so well that they are a tad floppy now. The Emelie is surprisingly still a tad big with thin compression socks but will be fine once I switch to my winter compressions. Love adding this to my collection!

I have flat arches and over pronating hind feet so I was thrilled my orthotics fit in place of the company made insoles. There is arch support in the Tivoli Resort that is comparable to that in Tivoli. The higher platform and deep tread is ideal for the snowy slushy winter terrain. The insulation works perfectly even in below 10 degree weather with windy conditions. The higher top and faux help keep the ankle to calf part of lower leg protected and warm. I ’ m even comfortable in them for an 8- hour shift in retail involving going up and down ladders. Highly recommend for women with C width feet( wider than typical but not quite wide.).
