I do n't mind these boots but they feel more like a winter boot than a rainboot. They are quite heavy for a rainboot and they rub on your lower calf/upper ankle if they 're not snug. I wish I would have went down a half size or worn thicker socks. You must wear taller socks so it does n't rub on your skin. I wanted to try the 6 ” nylon ankle ice boots because I love the 6 ” deck boots I wear almost daily. They are very comfortable once on, have great support, good traction and are very warm! The only complaint I have, is that the top opening is not as wide as the regular deck boots, which makes them harder to just slip on and go. I had noticed that in the few reviews I had read, but wanted to try them anyway. A long handled shoehorn is needed, for me at least. Perhaps the designers thought a narrower opening would make them warmer, but it doesn ’ t allow for thicker socks. I kept them but probably won ’ t buy another pair in the future unless the opening is redesigned.

I have only tried them in this cold winter season in Western NY, so i ca n't speak to their breathability, or fit with thinner socks, in the milder parts of the year. But right now, they have been great. Easy to slip on/off, lightweight. I previously was wearing my blundstones but on- 20 F nights I just was n't having it anymore! I 've now been wearing these Bogs for a few weeks and in( almost) all sorts of condition. They were definitely a bit stiff the first 2 weeks I 'd say. But now my foot easily slips in and out of the shoe. I noticed a little bit of rubbing on my ankle in those first two weeks but that has gone away. I have high arches and usually put some inserts into my shoes. I tried that for a bit with these and found it to be a little tight. They are comfortable without the inserts but I might try again in the future once they are completely broken in. Overall, happy with my purchase! I have only kind of slipped on the ice once- which is great great improvement from before! Woohoo!

[ I wore these while hiking in Sequoia National Park in the winter. They were super comfortable! I walked through snow, small streams of water, and muddy areas. My feet stayed dry and warm. They had good traction. Some snow did get in over the top when I walked in snow deeper than the height of the boots, but when I put on some snow shoes with them and that kept me from sinking in too deep. They did n't feel too bulky or heavy when walking in areas without snow. I choose these because they are made with vegan materials. I ordered my normal size and they fit perfectly. I found these while searching for a pair of long lasting waterproof snow proof winter boots. I have to say I ’ m very picky about boots, so when I got these, I was a little disappointed to see they didn ’ t have a side zipper, but that ’s my fault for not reading thoroughly. The description says leather and suede upper, but that ’s only the stripe, the actual majority of the boot is a soft canvas, which isn ’ t what I was looking for. I wasn ’ t a huge fan of the shape of them, as they seem to accentuate the widest point of my calf, but overall they ’ re very nice and they fit well when I tried them on. They are thick inside so they might feel tight with a thick sock, but they were immediately super warm so a thick sock doesn ’ t seem really necessary. I am sad to admit I am sitting in my work truck with my boots off because my feet are soaked after 4 hours of work... my rain pants busted out the whole rear end from the poor seams. Wilco happily returned them after wearing them 1 day. My boots are definitely the most upsetting in this situation. If you plan on purchasing these boots, I would not plan on staying dry for to long.
