This hat is great! I 've owned it for about a year now and it has still held up very well in the Florida heat! Me and the family go on a yearly trip to Orlando and the amusement parks down there can get HOT in July! This hat is a great addition for daily wear for hours on end and tens of thousands of steps later on peak south Florida humid summer days. It does a great job keeping the sun out of the eyes, is very lightweight and breathable. No concerns if it gets wet in the pop up downpours, or you can purposely wet it and it can keep you cool that way as well. I strongly suggest pairing this with sunglasses and sunscreen as well, but this is probably one of the more important things to pack. If you plan on being outdoors in the summer heat and sun for hours on end, this is the one to keep a cool head per se! 5 stars very happy with this.

[ This is a really nice hat. Bright retro colors and retro style. Very comfortable, and does a good job keeping the sun off my head. It might have been nice if the strings were removable, in case you did n't want to wear them all the time, but I can just tuck them up inside the hat. With the cinch cord on the back, it stays on your head pretty well even without using the strings below your chin.

This hat is cool because it has a brim for sun protection but it's not huge and floppy. Size up for a bit more brim, or down for a more compact brim. I have owned two of these sun- blocking( read cancer- blocking) caps and I lost both so I 'm buying another. Great design, etc. I just do n't like the colors so I buy white ones and dye them in shades of pink and red myself. Outdoor Research: Give us some Pink& Red hats and clothes. The other negative is that it's hot as Hades wearing them in 90- something heat. I wish they were better ventilated.

This hat is very comfortable and offers excellent sun protection. It is a smaller hat as in the headpiece is not deep like a trucker hat. I got a medium and it fits perfectly. Having a less deep headpiece makes it possible to wear sunglasses or over the ear earphones comfortably. The sun cape is attachable by to buttons. The adjustable chin strap allows you to keep sun protection even in windy conditions.

I got this hat because the brim is slightly smaller than my full on sun hat, so it ’s not as awkward to wear in the car or indoors, but still provides a good amount of sun protection. I got the goldenrod color, and it ’s a little darker in person, but still a cool color. It does seem to run a little small compared to my other hats of the same size, so if you ’ re in between sizes, probably best to size up. Oh, and the sunglasses holder is awesome! I love to wear this hat around town or when we ’ re out on sunny days. It ’s very comfortable, and the brim holds its shape well. I don ’ t use it when I ’ m out gardening or mowing the lawn because I prefer my other Sunday afternoon sun hat that I can throw in the washing machine if it get dirty. That ’s not to say that I couldn ’ t use this for light yardwork. It would be great with the sun protection, I just prefer to not get mine dirty. My son and I both got this same hat for Scouts camp in the Adirondack mountains in August. It was HOT during the days, and these hats did their job keeping the sun out of our eyes. I love these hats but you should strongly consider making the adult size S/M a flat out Medium and makeing the youth large witch starts at 6 inches and ends at 6 7/8 a small. I 'm infuriated by the laziness of this. I and many others with small heads would like to have more to choose from like the adult selections. This is flat out discrimination against those of us with smaller skulls. We like hat's too. Like I ssid in my previous review, if they would have had the PHG in youth sizes and frankly all the different colors and designs, I would have spent$ 1, 000 on hat's the day I purchased 12 hats because there are only 7 youth colors and I was n't really feeling the electric pink, but I got two of each. These are really great hats, I love them and I wish Columbia would take a look in either making more styles in youth hats or get rid of the S/M size and make it a Medium and the large youth hat a Small. Because every man with a tiny peahead such as my self are very tired of being discriminated against. I like Columbia clothes/gear. It's mostly what I wear and I almost got rid of all my Columbia stuff, all the pants, shirts, fleeces and coats but the youth hats saved the day.
