I bought the Oat Sunset Hat first, to wear while gardening and walking the dog. I live in NE FL and the sun can be brutal at times. Our duaghter and her husband took us on an* day Caribbean cruise right after Thanksgiving and I bought a 2nd Sunset hat, this time in Cinnamon, so she would have a good sun hat too. She preferred the lighter colored hat so I let her keep that one and I kept the cinnamon one. These hats can be shaped how ever you prefer them, but I like the sides rolled up like a `` western hat '' so I have good peripheral vision, especially when walking our pup. They traveled well strapped to a back pack and if they got a bit misshapen during transport they were easy to return to however you might prefer them. Best Hat I ever Had. I have a small head and the medium cruiser fit perfectly. Great hat rim, rigid enough to not bend, pliable enough to be comfortable even in windy conditions. I 've hand washed it and it keeps its shape- has just the right amount of sun coverage and is n't hot to wear- Excellent workmanship!

[ I 'm on the edge between a large and x- large. Went XL and it's roomy but still fits great because it cinches down. This hat is cool because it has a brim for sun protection but it's not huge and floppy. Size up for a bit more brim, or down for a more compact brim. It's light, well- made and protects you for those hot Summer days or desert hikes.
