I bought this in preparation for a trip where I was expecting temps in the low 40s, wind, and rain, but needed a few easily accessible pockets, too. This coat worked perfectly for me, keeping me dry, warm, and relatively protected from the wind( with the hood), too. I just received this jacket today and I 'm super happy with it after only trying it on! I 'm 5'11 '', about 165- 170, athletic build and the large fits perfectly! I have a little extra length in the arms, which I love because it is a rarity. I feel like I have just enough room that I could wear a crewneck underneath without problem, but it's not bulky without layers. And it's long enough that it covers my bottom! I 'm usually between a medium and a large and I would not size down for a medium in this jacket.

As I was out shoveling, I discovered the designer winter coat I bought from a big department store was NOT waterproof. Unfortunately, I weigh 274, so finding a coat is n't easy. After researching, I decided to try this one even though it is over$ 300. It fits great( it is n't loose, but it is comfortable and I can sit with it zipped)! It also is not puffy, so there is no added bulk. The sleeves are nice in that they are not too short and I can tighten them at the wrist with the Velcro. I also love the chest pocket-- I put my phone in there and can listen to a podcast as I walk my dog. Well worth the money!

This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

I bought this recently after outgrowing a jacket I used for many years! I keep my jackets for multiple years and am very pleased with it so far. It ’s extremely cozy and warm and I get cold easily! I live in the interior of BC, Canada, where it ’s often brisk in the mornings and evenings. [ I bought this jacket for a family roadtrip we did a couple weeks ago to Tennessee. We traveled from Florida- temps averaged in the 70 ’s, to the Smokies where the temps dropped to 22F some nights. I ’ m glad I had this jacket on hand. It ’s really well made, light and you can easily pack it inside it ’s front pocket. It turns into a cute little bag easy to store in a backpack for “ just in case ”. I ’ m 5 ’ 5 ” tall, 112lbs female and ordered a small size. At first I thought it ’s a little too big for my build. But then I thought if I go somewhere where it really snows, it would be nice to wear some extra layers under it. If you 're on the fence to make such an investment, it ’s worthy every penny.
