Had the original of this. Would not have gotten anything else but this again. I was disappointed with the lack of product pictures to show the inside of the jacket. Where are the pictures of the inside pockets and lining, You need to get that right for this product! I was also disappointed with the zipper in the inside pocket. I 'm also annoyed at the sleeve length. This jacket need about half an inch to an inch added to the sleeves on the regular fit. Nevertheless, while different and lighter than the previous version. This jacket still dominates any other hoodie I own... in fact it dominates any other hoodie I 've come across. The original I owned was in the Chocolate color( IYKYK) had that one for about 10- 15 years. I was looking to get that again, but I 'm happy with the black. I 'd wear it all the time if I could, but it would n't improve my social awkwardness. Buy with confidence, knowing that this jacket will serve you very well! Bought this a couple years back now and decided to laud it after keeping me dry in a 10 minute downpour while waiting at a bus stop. It's truly my favorite article of daily outerwear.

I had second thoughts at first about the jacket because I was concerend about the slightly snug fit. I 'm about 185lbs and 6 ft tall with the medium size being snug but not uncomfortable at all. I just wondered about wearing layers witht he jacket. The arm length is perfect for me and the large size would be too long in the arms. I almost throught to return it to other options but realized this size is really perfect as is after wearing it on a few outings. I do n't really need additional mid- layers with this jacket so it has been great and wo n't be looking elsewhere for another jacket. I had the previous iteration of the Thermoball( I guess 1. 0?) and this one seems to be warmer as well.

Probably my favourite fleece. I own two. My first in dark olive is about 5 years old stood up well through outdoors work and chores got a bit bobbled but I gave it a shave not long ago and it looks as good as new. Very light weight. Packing compressed it a lot and it took a couple days for it to expand out. My first time wearing it was in 30 degrees and it kept me very warm. I am 5' 6 '' and a large was a good fit for me, especially for arm length. I am a little concerned about longevity because of how light weight it is, but time will tell on that. Material and stitching are top notch and the jacket is very comfortable to wear. I HATE the feeling of gortex and this has more of silky feel inside and out, which is perfect. It actually feels cooler than the REI Sahara hoodie by 2- 3C, even though they 're both the same weight. I think this shirt has better thermal conductivity. It also absorbs sweat faster which helps increase evaporation. You can check by dunking both shirts into a tub of water. I felt much more comfortable with this in 30- 40C temperatures with high humidity. I can feel the difference under a helmet. It's more stretchy, and greater horizontally compared to vertically so you have to be careful not to stretch it too far in order to keep it's UPF protection so I wear a loose fitting size. The fabric is n't as durable as the REI Sahara, as it has more pilling after a few months of wearing 2- 3 days a week. The wrists seem to be more stained. It has more facial coverage along the neck and side cheeks near the ear because it has a smaller opening for the face. It's a round opening so it sits fairly symmetrical compared to the REI Sahara which has an overlapping stitch at the neck that causes the hood to twist to one side. It does n't have a drawstring but since the opening is smaller, the wind does n't really blow it off, unlike the REI Sahara which needs it's drawstring to be cinched to resist the wind. The only benefit of the REI Sahara is possibly greater sun protection from the side rear angle due to how the hood drapes, but less protection from the side front angle; cheaper price; higher durability.

I wear the echo line of active wear when I 'm working out of fishing. The level of cool I get from wearing the ActiveIce appearal is unlike anything I 've tried before. It keeps me cool and I 'm not sweating as much as I do with the echo fabric. It does come with the trade off of being a bit heavier than the echo and not as breathable feeling since it's a thicker fabric. I will choose to wear the echo fabric when it's a cooler day doing a lot of activity and the ActiveIce fabric when it's really sunny and warm.

Awesome piece of gear. It ’s lighter than a mouse fart, but warm as a Marshall pufffy combined. This jacket was purchased with climbing Kilimanjaro in mind and will be bringing it with in January. The only other puffy that compares is the whisperer/2 which trades a little down loft for a slightly tougher shell fabric.

This is my dream super light down jacket and I wear it more than any other during the colder months. I thought the Ghost Whisperer was good until I got one of these and now I only wear the UL. It's so light it almost feels like you 're not wearing anything, and at the same time its seems much warmer than similar jackets that are heavier. It's almost like an illusion because when you put it on you warm up quickly yet you do n't feel like you 're wearing a jacket! It's amazing and there's no excuse not to carry it with you on every mission. It's so small and light. It's more like carrying a wind shell but so much warmer~!

I like this hoodie a lot and the material feels great. Size up for correct fit unless you like it more tight fitting. I usually wear an XL and like them to be a little longer. This XXL is perfect( fits like an XL). OR please restock sizes! I would buy another grey one and black would be a nice option too.

So, everyone loves a good hoodie, and this might be the perfect shoulder season hoodie. It's been a beautiful spring so far here in the PNW; cold in the mornings, but still kind of chilly in the afternoon. This hoodie is perfect for this weather. The only low point of the hoodie is that it's sizing is a little on the smaller side. Fit's a little more like an XL than a XXL Other than that, it might be my new favorite hoodie.

Huge fan of this! It's a go to for slightly warmer to hotter temperatures. It's comfortable and feels far more breathable and quality than alternative sun hoodies on the market( REI Sahara sun hoody) Also, the protection I get with it from the sun is amazing. The hood is more oversized so it's easy to wear over a helmet or to sorta pull to the side to provide extra protection from the sun-- even when you 're just driving and there's bright sun coming from the side window. I own two and am dreaming of a third!

Excellent quality, XL fits me perfectly, I am 6' 0 '' 190 lbs. Super comfortable and perfect when a heavier weight hoodie might get too warm. Breathes well, I wear this trail hiking in cooler mornings in Arizona. I really like the hood, I pull it up over my cap to protect my neck from the sun, and unlike other, fruit flavored hoodies I have, it is roomie enough not to be constricting, and the geometry is perfect to stay up without blowing down. I wish it was available in black and some lighter colors.

The Vigor fleece is a very nice light weight piece of equipment. Worn either by itself or as a mid layer, it gets the job done. It holds heat and moderates body temperature very well. It has the pockets you need and none that you do n't.

This jacket( when crushed into a ball by noted son) is really small and the warmth vs. weight is excellent. Recommended by parent of moody teenager. This is a nice jacket—super versatile. I use it for night walks around the neighborhood and camping trips to the desert. It keeps me warm even on really cold nights. This jacket is a light, packable, and comfortable. Perfect for warm weather adventures that just need a little extra layer to block the wind. It packs down into a small pouch that can be tossed in your pack or beach bag for that `` ace in the hole '' when needed. Unlike many competing brands, this jacket is made of a very soft material and does not have the crinkle feeling like you are putting on a trash bag. Also unique to this jacket compared to it's competitor's is that it has front handwarmer pockets as well as a chest pocket( most packable options do not). The pockets in my opinion bring it from just being a quick grab backup plan to an intentionally worn and functional jacket. The chest pocket is a great spot to quickly store your cell phone and the front hand pockets give you that sensation like you just put on your favorite hoodie sweatshirt. I have worn it while hiking mountains during the summer in Maine to hanging out on the beach in Costa Rica on a windy day.

This jacket is extremely comfortable. I 'm 5' 6 '' with broad shoulders and a more or less triangular shape( not a body builder by any stretch, though). The medium fits me perfectly with room to layer. I expect it's long enough for taller people, too. It breaths well, provides good wind protection, and a small amount of protection from precipitation. The first time I tried running in this jacket, the hood flopped annoyingly into my field of view. I have since discovered that you can just fold the brim back once or twice to tighten up the fit. This may look a little wonky, but it works beautifully, and it's the only option, since there's no drawstring adjustment on the hood. It's very nice to have hand- warmer pockets, which many wind shells omit.

I bought this to try out in spring/summer in Washington and it is fantastic. It's super light weight but does a great job at blocking the wind and light rain. The fit is trim but not overly loose( I got a large with a 41 '' chest, 6', 188 lbs). It has quickly become my go to windbreaker and has replaced my Arc'teryx Squamish hoody. Definitely worth the buy!

I am an OR employee and have used prototype versions of this jacket over the past couple years. The fabric works very well at giving both wind and light weather protection AND breathability and stretch. For running, mountain biking and as an `` up- hill jacket '' for backcountry ski touring it is amazing because it adds warmth in cool and cold temps, but breathes enough to prevent overheating so much better than traditional windshells. And it is ultralight and highly packable. Best of all worlds.( It does not replace a rain jacket though. It is water resistant, but far from waterproof.)

I purchased the shirt for a 3 1/2 week kayak, snorkeling, and walking trip to Palau in the eastern Pacific, and used it about every other day. This is a well designed shirt that is comfortably soft and blocks the sun both when dry and wet. I felt it was comfortable in hot and humid weather. The hood stays in place in the wind and while snorkeling. The sleeve gauntlets will cover the back of your hand when paddling- important in intense sun. Unlike the other sun shirt I had, this shirt does not stretch out of shape when wet, and it will dry overnight if you hang it up.

Very comfy for everyday wear. The quality is better than some of the other comparable brands. I have used these shirts while fly fishing up in Leadville, Colorado( 10500 feet elevation) and have experienced no sun burn thanks to the spf rating. I love this baselayer, very convenient for skiing, as you do n't need to wear additional balaclava. The balaclava on this hoodie provides decent warmth, but you might want a thicker balaclava for- 20 weather. Overall, a very good product for skiing. I wish all baselayer had this option.

I work as a climbing guide in Colorado, so my work takes me to a variety of locations and climates. My initial guess as to what the Keele would be like was similar to other grid fleeces: lightweight and flexible. The latter is more true than the former. This layer was surprisingly heavy- and I think that's fantastic. It presents a different layering option than other mid- layers that tend to strive to be light. The inner fabric is extremely soft, so it feels great next to skin. I was caught in a mild drizzle and the outer fabric did a great job beading water and not letting me get soaked. I 'm 5'10 '' 165 and it felt just a hair big on me. If it was colder( ice climbing or mountaineering) I would appreciate the room to layer. As the only mid- layer I was wearing it was just a slight bit big, but I did n't find that problematic at all.

I am a rock climbing guide who guides across Colorado and Utah and its important for me to have gear that works well, is durable and looks professional. I was excited for this hoody to arrive as it checked a lot of those boxes for me. The large fits ideally for me at 6' 2 '', 215lbs and long arms. I have a bit of an issue in the past with MHW sizing as it seemed I was right in between a L and XL but this jacket fits wonderfully. The waterproofing is functional if you are stuck in some light rain, as the water will bead right off. The brushed grid interior gives the hoody that cozy feel which means you 'll never want to take it off. It is a lot denser of a hoody than I was expecting but that's a positive in my books. I really think this hoody is for anyone who wants a full zip mid layer jacket but it will find itself at home the most in the backpacks of you Spring rock climbers!

I am a search and rescue volunteer and climbing wall instructor who spends my time in Arizona and Washington state. Working in a wide range of environmental conditions requires that my gear does the same. I ordered the Keele grid hoody as large, my usual size, and I found it fit true to size. The Keele hoody has performed exceptionally while climbing, traveling, and hiking. The recycled polyester double weave fabric is my favorite feature of the Keele. Its brushed back grid interior is soft and wicks moisture well while the DWR coating on the exterior provides durability and water resistance. Even when soaked through, the Keele kept me warm climbing in less- than- ideal conditions. The three- piece hood functions incredibly well and I found it fit over or under a climbing helmet. I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Keele and recommend it as a base or mid layer for nearly any outdoor endeavor.

You can never have too many midlayers! This statement is always true, and that is one of the many reasons the Keele Grid hoody is something you should get. I 'm 5' 9 '' 165lbs. and the medium fits comfortably. It does n't have a really technical fit like an r1; it's a more relaxed fit. This jacket is the r1 that you can wear everyday, but with pockets and way more wind resistance. I 've been grabbing this every morning when I leave the house on all these cool Spring mornings. The hood is really comfortable, and I 've always been a half- zip kind of guy, but I 'm loving the full- zip jacket feel.

This jacket is exactly what I needed for Colorado's winter. Keeps me very warm without any layering though with layering warmth will obviously be increased. I would totally recommend if you are into snow sports or like being toasty during winter. Being able to pack this jacket up is another plus for me so it's always convenient to either leave in the drawer when stowed or have it hung up on the coat rack. This is the jacket I will reach for when the temps drop around the 30s.

As a South Florida resident for the past 48 years, I do n't find myself needing a heavy winter coat often. But this year, we were traveling to NY in early February, so my layered sweaters and sweatshirts were not going to cut it. I had an old( 15 years,...) winter ski jacket, that must have weighed 20 pounds, not ideal for travel. I asked around and was told Northface is the way to go for a lightweight winter jacket, for extreme temps. I went online, looked at the various styles and colors, and went with the Terra Peak Hoodie. I could not believe how light it was, and could not understand how this could keep me warm. Well, I soon found out what a great purchase I had made. Temperatures were in the 20's with strong winds, and I was toasty as can be. The hood is perfect for keeping the wind out and I quickly realized that I did not need to wear various layers underneath, becasue the jacket kept me warm. Additionally, it is so light and compact for travel, I was able to stick it in my carry- on bag with no problem. We are going to Iceland later in the year, and I am ready!

For me, it's the perfect sun hoody. I wanted something super light for hiking in the sun and just a little sun protection to prevent me from burning, because I still want the vitamin D. This barely weighs anything and I find it surprisingly durable for what it is. It's not tough by any mean, but I was worried it would deteriorate after a few uses. I have two minor complaints: 1. is that it's quite expensive for how simple it is. 2. The t- shirt version fit differently than this version, it was quite tight around the chest, I was expecting the same fit. The t- shirt version is great for working out in the gym on a hot day where they still insist you wear a shirt.

Recently bought the Mountain Hardwear Summit Grid Hoody and do n't love it because it's short at the waist and the material is too lightweight yet stiff'ish. This Trail fleece from OR is a bit heavier, drapes well( soft), and the neck buttons up so nicely. Wind does n't get through very easily, but can be felt when above 10mph.
