This coat worked perfectly for me, keeping me dry, warm, and relatively protected from the wind( with the hood), too. I bought this jacket to wear for skiing but have been wearing it at other times also. It is warm and I love the fur hood. I do wish that there were thumb holes in the inner sleeves and maybe another pocket inside the jacket on the other side( there is one on the left side) to stick tissues, money, etc. but it's a great jacket and very comfy. Purchased this a month ago and my kid who is super picky about coats loves it. He picked a crazy pattern that has a lot of white but surprisingly it camouflages the dirty fairly well. I measured him as well as his previous jacket and the fit came out just as expected. He is perpetually cold due to only wearing a tshirt and this coat keeps him warm in Michigan winter. The only thing I thought was a little concerning was the glove clips that are situated in the tiny cuff of the wrist in a small velcro hiding spot. Anyways they are 1- 2 '' so they make the wrist stiff if they are tucked in. But they actually hang out partially. I thought my kid would freak out about them hanging out or being stiff but so far he has n't mentioned it. If he does I will just cut them off! I have noticed one small tear forming on the zipper cover of the side pocket, my guess is my child threw himself to the concrete and the zipper pull covered by the fabric ripped under the force.

[ I 've always loved the versatility of 3 in 1 jackets. Some days can be freezing in the morning, but lighten up by the afternoon. It gives me piece of mind to know that the layers will keep my daughter warm and that it's easy for her to convert it herself depending on the weather. I also love how there is the option to extend the length of the sleeves to grow with your child because we all know that kids outgrow their clothes and shoes in the blink of an eye! The colors are bright so that she stands out in a crowd. The outer layer is indeed waterproof. The only critique I have would be that although the inner layer is fuzzy and warm, it is thinner than I thought it would be( say compared to a fleece inner layer). [ I bought this and another similar Prana coat. I compared the two, and this coat was lighter than the other( Kromata). I actually thought this coat was more comfortable, and the pockets were more comfortable. When recieving the coat, the lining was already stuck in the zipper of the pocket.
