I really like these trousers. I wanted a pair of hiking trousers that looked a little more stylish and can be worn in a multitude of scenarios. I have them in green, a pleasing military shade, and like the fact they are all a single block of colour unlike many two- tone hiking trousers( which I personally find a little uncool). Material is flexible facilitating easy and fluid movement and is durable but not heavy. The cut is straight, not baggy, a little more slim than most walking trousers. The elasticated hem is practical and aids with the slimmer line of the trouser. The 3 pockets are all zipped which is practical. The yellow logo on the back is cool. I would recommend and may also buy in the blue colour too.

Don ’ t know what these negative reviews are about. I have a newer pair with zipper and they ’ ve performed as they ’ re suppose to- as a Jean- not as a trekker or hard wearing pant. Because fjallraven made the smart decision of discontinuing the Greenland jeans in regular sizes and now only come in talls. Reason? They said it would just be easier for them to have tailored in store. Another problem, stores are far and few. I only have 1 store in my entire state. And the tailor usually isn ’ t there. Why discontinue perfection it makes no sense. Anyway I made the long trip of going to the store and buying a pair of longs to have sized, but was really upset as the overall pant size is different on the longs, the leg pocket rests about an inch lower, and the crotch area is a bit more baggy and just felt like I was wearing an adult diaper. Overall, I owned 3 pairs of Barents Pro. The two first pairs, I wore about 500 rough days( 250 each) within two years, travelling around the world, while hiking and camping for weeks in Nepal, Sikkim, Himashal Pradesh, New Zealand or Tasmania, or simply as daily backpacker trousers. After those 2 years, rubbing between my thighs caused the fabric to tear( I have very big thighs- my jeans rip there after having been worn barely 60 times). I simply patched the tears with the excess of fabric from the legs, which I had kept. I still wore them many, many more times afterwards. Because the patches weren ’ t aesthetic, I got another Barents Pro( and a Karl) some time later. To me, those trousers are one of the best investments I ever made.

I love these hiking trousers!! I live in the Midwest and I did not know how they would hold up in our really cold winters. They are great in the snow and wet cold. I add a layer underneath for warmth and the trousers do the rest. I tend to be hard on jeans and cargo pants but these are just as rugged and really lightweight. [ I normally wear the Fjallraven Keb trouser but was looking for something lighter for mid summer hikes in the sweltering northeast, these absolutely fit the bill although I will most likely tear these apart quicker than the Keb. Not because they are low quality, but because I am a big dude and very hard on my gear.

These are by far my favorite pants ever for trekking, travelling etc. Super comfortable and lightweight, but also tough as nails. After several overnights and rounds of deep mud and butt- sliding down rocks, they still look brand new.

Usually wear a 34 and ordered a 33- 34, fit and felt fantastic. Vent zips are perfect with plenty of pockets. Hiked on the coast with these and they kept me warm enough from the ocean breeze yet i wasnt uncomfortable for a second because of excess heat. If you 're looking for lifetime pants it's well worth the money.

Bought to use as trekking pants on a trip to Aconcagua. Could not be happier. Lightweight yet durable material. No obtrusive seams. Pockets are sized just right. Light enough for hiking in the sun, but not overheating.

Preferred the darker colour of both. Comfortable and flexible. Bought for warm weather and now wear all the time. Could have gone with shorter inseam.
