For reference, the person wearing this is 6' tall with a slim build and typically wears small or medium shirts, however, i had to size up with this shirt because everytime he raises his arms you can see up to his belly button. If you have a long torso and will wear this to the gym, I recommend a large. Otherwise a medium is good.

The first two were bought in size medium but they ’ re little tight fitting so I bought a couple more in size large. I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ” 180 lbs with really broad shoulders. Only wish is that they would remove the logo from the front of the shirt to make it look less like a workout tee so I can wear it out on the town.

I bought a couple of these for running and hiking in the humid SE summer. They have performed perfectly for that purpose and are great when paired with the super comfy Astro Shorts. I also wear a couple of Patagonia Capilene Lightweight short sleeve shirts, and I would put the Echo up against the Capilene; they are very similar in terms of fit, performance and weight. The Echo comes just a tad further below my waist line than the Capilene. Fit is great. I am 5'10 '' 165 and the medium is perfect.

This shirt is so comfortable, lightweight, and looks great. I 'm 6' 0 190lbs and bought a medium, and it's not tight, not too baggy. I can move easily and wear it comfortably in summer here on the Colorado Plateau without worrying about sunburn on my arms, and it breathes wonderfully. Bought this to replace an old compression base layer that was falling apart. This one is a more casual fit and lighter, a nice change. My last hike was in temps 50 to 85. I bought this shirt to use for everything from travelling to backpacking to working out to just kicking around the house. For a lot of synthetic shirts I wear an undershirt because the material does n't feel great against my skin. This one is super comfortable. Probably the biggest testimony I can give is that I 've found myself wearing it for 3 days in a row. I just like the fit. I live in Maine and this is going to be perfect for Spring. And Summer. And Fall. And Winter.

I picked this up in preparation for a trip to Scotland at the tail end of the winter season. Temperatures averaged 28- 40 degrees Fahrenheit with strong winds and light rain being common. This garment worked extremely well over top of a cheap polyester base layer and often only needed a rain jacket to help protect against the wind when out hiking. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a lightweight and warm midlayer.

Got two of the these shirts to test for long duration wear and they do not disappoint. Upon receiving I immediately set out on a multi day outdoor trip with a lot of heavy activity and the shirts held up. Highly odor resistant and fast drying; did n't lose shape when hand washing and hang drying. This one has slightly heavier fabric, and seemingly, a tighter weave, so it does n't breathe as well. On the other hand, the new snaps are much easier to unsnap than last year's metal ones.( I sometimes wonder if I 'll rip the snap out of the Shade Lite before it disengages!)

Fits true to size, I 'm 6' 2 '' 185, size large fits perfect. The material is comfortable, breathes well, and is durable so far. I used to be a short sleeve purist on my rides, but this material is breathable enough that I do n't get hot wearing it on sunny days. Plus the long sleeves protect my arms from the sun and branches along narrow trails. The only disadvantage is it `` holds the stink '' but that is typical for synthetic materials.

The Freewheel Short Sleeve Jersey is more like a daily driver shirt over a traditional jersey. You can wear it daily for day to day tasks then hit the trail after work. The material is similar to other Outdoor Research shirts in the 2024 clothing catalog. I took the shirt for weekly rides on local trail heads in MD in spring and on the Santos Trails in FL on a work trip. The stretch is nice when you catch a sticker bush and length is nice if you have a long torso. The only con in my opinion is that a bring color would be nice for hunting seasons. I currently have the blue shirt and it looks good.

[ On a whim, I picked up a Canyon SS prior to hiking into Havasu Falls on the Havasupai reservation. We hiked into the falls in early July, with daily average temperatures in the low triple digits. I found this shirt to be extremely comfortable, fast- drying, and quick to vent off excess heat. With a large pack on my back for the 12- mile hike, even with the Arizona sun bearing down on us, I never felt uncomfortably warm or overly soaked in sweat. The shirt managed to wick away and evaporate off the moisture at a steady, appreciated rate. Upon reaching the falls, I gave the shirt a quick rinse off in the creek and after half an hour of hang drying, the shirt was ready to be put through its paces once more. Seriously, as far as the intended function of this shirt is concerned, it performed beautifully. Plus, I find both the fit and appearance of the shirt to be really nice. I 've since placed an order for additional shirts. I really dig 'em. For the reviewer who found the shirt to hang onto odors, I did n't have that issue at all, and I used just the one Canyon shirt for the three days we spent at Havasu. And, I was with people who would have quickly pointed out that I stank. No problems with odor control.

[ This shirt is amazing, I could wear it for days without noticing that it's even there. The lightweight fabric has stood up to hiking with a full pack, bouldering and scrambling as well as climbing a tree or two. The vents help to keep me cool on trails as hot as 90 degrees and also help me look cool in town. I have n't used the pockets with a pack on but love them in town. I bought this for my husband and its one of the most worn items in his closet. He has a really muscular build, so he is always looking for low- bulk layers and this is perfect. He likes that he can go directly from a zoom call( looks dressy enough on screen) to working outside( durable) to skiing( warmth under a ski jacket). [ I recently bought a bunch of sunblock hoodies and have been wearing this a lot more than the others so far this summer, I love it! I 've been hit with skin cancer on my face twice now so trying to find ways to cover up when I 'm outside that do n't require me to bath in sunblock lotion. For context: I live in Arkansas and it's been super hot& humid. We 're currently in the upper 90's/lower 100's with pretty high humidity- dew points in the 70- 75 range most days. For that kind of weather this is the by far the most comfortable of the 3 other sun blocking hoodies I 've tried. This material is very breathable and lightweight like a tech shirt, but it fits loose and does n't show off the finer details of every fat roll I have like a tech shirt. It looks good just wearing it around. The `` activeice '' part is n't entirely obvious like wearing an air conditioner, but I noticed the other day that my exposed legs felt hotter in the sun and took longer to cool off once I got out than my arms/torso so it does seem to actually do something. If you live in a hot climate that is also humid, there is n't a better option I 've found, so just buy this. Most of the others I 've tried use some cotton- like materials that soak up humidity or they are thicker& less breathable and start to get a bit too warm when the temp hits 90's and the humidity is high. My only complaint is the collar/base of the hood. The closest pic of the hood up on OR's website you 'll find is a guy reaching back to start to pull it up, so I 'm assuming they already know the hood looks a bit funny, but sharing on the off chance they read this for next years version. I wish the hood had two sections that crossed under the chin or something similar instead of the solid strip. I do appreciate the neck coverage and it looks good when the hood is down, but when the hood is up you look like you 're in one of those face- in- hole photo boards or about to go bee- keeping. Most of my friends are master- level wisecrackers so it will have to be really sunny day before I wear this around them with the hood up. Pro- Tip: It looks better( to me at least) when wearing a hat and pulling the hood over the brim, and gives better sun protection on the sides of your face that way as well. My second minor improvement would be that it could be maybe just one inch longer, I 'm 6'00 '' and 200 lbs. The length is great for the most part but if I 'm reaching straight up it shows a bit of belly. Overall though, this is easily the winner of the bunch I 've tried for the dead heat of summer.
