I 'm so glad I did n't order these online, I opted to try on my normal size at a local retailer and they were crazy tight, like early 2000s skinny jeans. I then tried on 2 sizes up from my regular waist size and they fit nicely with a belt. If you work out and have thighs and glutes that are semi- built order a size or two up in the waist for mobility. As far as quality goes, I like the thickness and rigidity of the material, definitely a nice resistant fabric.

I purchased these on a whim and have thrown out my other pants similar to these. The cut is nice and has a slight taper in the leg giving it a modern look. The material stretches and I have not noticed any wear after several washes. I am usually tough on clothing and these show no sign of abuse. I bought another pair in a different color I liked them so much.

CFink
Best pants I have ever owned. I had a pair of the regular Ferrosi pants, they were comfortable, but way too wide and baggy for my liking. These ones are a great cut and have an excellent feel to them. Super stretchy, super light, super comfortable. OR, please never change these. I will be buying more and more pairs!
5
Carl J
The transit pants are a step- up in fashion compared to the standard Ferrosi pants. Granted I 'm not a fashion master as my wife reminds me but these are versatile enough to wear climbing or to work. They do n't have the zipper thigh pocket but as I mentioned this gives them a slightly more formal look and fit. Obviously it goes without saying that they are comfortable, stretchy and lightweight like the entire Ferrosi line. Sometimes the Ferrosi line is known to pill but I have n't noticed any yet after a couple of months wear.

[ This is my second pair of these. I have not yet had a chance to wear them because the weather has been nice. But what I love about them is that the fully separating zippers allow me to don and doff them without the need to tak my boots off and on. Even more importantly you make them in a short length( I am only 5' 1 '') and that is the ONLY way this concept works. You can not reasonably shorten rainpaints with a separating zipper-- you have to start out with the correct length and not many companies cater to this need.

Use these mostly for Montana backpacking. Love that they offer a 34 '' inseam for those with longer legs. The ferrosi fabric is stretchy and lightweight keeping my legs protected from the sun and shrubs during long treks in the Montana backcountry. Love them!
5
Jacob J
I ’ ve put a ton of wear and tear on these pants with backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, and general travel. For being as breathable and light as these are, they hold up to abrasions pretty well. I ’ ve had tons of branches, rocks, and trees slide on these without any major damage. The integrated shoelace/string belt on the interior of the waist is a great little compliment to the external belt loops, no extra bulk with a little extra security. One small negative I have for these are the elastic cinches at the cuffs. They ’ ve held up fine so far, but I ’ m always worried about losing one of the little clips that go on them. Just make sure you loosen them before taking the pants off and double check that the 2 pieces are still there.
5
JGReno
I love these pants for hiking and backpacking. The material breathes well, dries quickly and is cool in hot weather but warm enough when actively hiking into the upper 40s even in a mild breeze. The draw cord at the waist is very nice and works well. Eliminate need for a belt, which gets in the way when carrying a backpack. The draw chords at the cuffs are nice, but they require a plastic attachment, which is easily lost. They should be supplied with one or two replacements when purchased.

My old pants were OR and lasted forever so when it was time for new ones it was a no brainer to go with these. They are incredibly comfortable. Very soft and very stretchy makes them great pants for any outdoor activity. The legs zip off easily and the pockets are great. Ca n't say much more about them. Outstanding quality and a great brand who stands behind their products.

Great for hiking in Alaska during the summer. Dries quickly. Exceptionally comfortable.
5
Charles B
The pants have a perfect amount of stretch, which makes them comfortable during a day on the trail, and when relaxing around camp afterward. The zippered legs come off and on easily, and the adjustable drawstring at the ankle allows you to cinch it up around your boot to help keep 6- 8 legged critters and trail debris out of your shoes. I like them, and they look good with my Scout leader uniform too. I went with the Morel color, as the Verde was a little too green for my tastes.

Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. I bought a pair of these pants about 20 years ago and wore them until recently when the lining started to deteriorate. I have a hard time finding pants long enough for my 33 '' inseam, but these pants are perfect! I 'm 5' 8 '', 140 pounds, with a slim build and the medium fits perfectly. I usually wear long johns or long johns plus another pair of warm pants under these and there is plenty of room. Everything seems to be about the same as my older version except this one has side pockets for my hands and I love that! I mostly wear them for hiking in the rain. Not sure how to use them? Are pants suppose to go under them? if so shorts or really supper thin ultra light hiking pants. Not as generous as the picture. I understand there `` minimalist '' meant for backpacking but would of like to have a bit more leg room and perhaps a wider hip so you can put them over pants. The mens Med jacket has room but the pants fall short 0r should i say tight. Use then for all four season. Hopeful they will work for winter sports with just a basis layer under neath.

I ordered the pants and jacket to replace some old faithful ones that have been reliable for years. I 've always been happy with the Helium line for backpacking. Predominantly a cold weather running pant, though I have used it for nordic skiing as well. I 've had several pairs of rain pants from other manufacturers over the years and these are the best so far. They do n't restrict my leg movements, do n't leak, and are easy to get on and off. The rise is high, so you have good overlap with your top and the waist drawstring seems sturdy enough, although I pair them with suspenders also. Rain and wet brush are expected if you are outside much of the year here in the PNW, so you need some good rain pants.
4
Andy P
My issue is n't with the pants which are great, BUT with the sizing chart- I am 6' 3 '' and 36 '' waist and a large size works for me but I have an 34 '' inseam and the chart recommendation is to get a tall size however I think regular would have been much better. The pant legs bunch up at the bottom when I have mid waterproof hiking shoes on. The OR pro deal is great but unfortunately they do n't allow exchanges or returns. I would liked to have swapped this pair for a large regular.

I ca n't speak more highly of both these pants and the jacket. Both stretchy and comfortable, and also breathable. Do n't feel like I 'm wearing a plastic poncho at all. And they kept me totally dry all day hiking in Peru during the rainy season.

I picked these up for winter fatbiking. Combined with a merino base layer, they are nearly perfect. They keep the cold air at bay and breath really well, like I have n't seen from other pants. Nearly perfect. As another reviewer mentioned, after less than 10 rides, the seated area has started piling. Excellent otherwise.

I bought these pants for ski touring, mountaineering, and backpacking and I have been nothing but impressed. The material is strong but still breathable and it repels water well. I love the way these pants feel and look. I recently bike commuted in them in the rain and unexpectedly they did great shedding water, they barely got wet at all. I love the stretchy waistband and overall fit. Being a little taller, they bottoms are a few inches above my ankles but that's fine if you 're looking for that. I would love an identical option that extended another 6 '' or so and in a few more fun colors. I 'm about 5' 7 '' and 133# and a size S was just right to avoid a baggy look that still moved well. I always seem to fall somewhere between an OR size S and M for bottoms, though.

I LOVE these pants. I bought a pair 6 months ago and am buying more in case OR ever gets rid of them. I 've tried the OG ferrosi climbing pants& the ferrosi leggings, but these are my favorite. I climb in them frequently and they hold up on wide cracks and sharp crystals. They look great and are so comfortable. I love that they are slightly cropped& tapered so they stay out of the way when climbing. I 'm 5' 4, 130lbs,& typically a size 4,& the size small fits perfect. I will buy these pants over& over again.

I own two pairs and highly recommend them. This style goes from day- to- day errands to casual dining to travel to hiking- an excellent multipurpose piece of clothing! I recently took a skid on a downhill abrasive, pebbly hike and thought `` this is end of these pants ''. I was wrong- they were n't at all damaged and the rock dust just brushed off. I would love to see some more colors in muted tones- gray, drab olive green, etc. The khaki color goes with most color tops, but the green is an evergreen color that does n't go with most of my wardrobe, just the black and white tops. I dress in dull colors that do n't show travel wear.

Bought these for hiking based on all the positive reviews and they are working out great! They are lightweight and comfortable. I am 5' 8 and weigh about 200lbs and am wearing the size 16. I originally bought an 18, but they too big. I recommend these pants.

The pants are light weight for summer. They fit well. I like the fact I can cinch up the bottom of the legs for a different look. I have not had them too long, but they seem to be sturdy and long lasting.

This is my third pair of Ferrosi pants that I 've purchased. I love the comfort and fit. As a short, curvy outdoor professional, these are my favorite pair of synthetic work pants I 've owned.

These were a Christmas gift for my daughter- in- law. She mentioned to me she had tried them out walking last week with some fleece long johns and `` they are THE BEST '', and were a fabulous gift.

[ There is a reason these pants are rated so highly. I 'm big, perfect technical pants have n't previously existed in my size, and they are the best fitting, most comfortable, easy- to- move- in zippered- pocket( and deep pocket) pants I 've ever owned. I will be buying more of these.

I found myself wearing sweat pants all the time because... you know, it works and feels good but I do n't want to look like a guy that wears sweat pants all the time. Now I got these pants and not only am I comfortable, but I also am able to keep it classy:) This pants are great for an expert at comfort. I feel like I could even wear these to work. I advise you combine it with a nice top.

I love the casual look and feel mixed with the tech performance. I 'm someone who often goes from a meeting to outside play and these fit the bill perfectly. The drawstring waist is super comfy and eliminates the need for belt, which I hate having to use on tech pants.

The fabric of this pant is excellent, the UPF protection, water and stain resistance, and still highly breathable on hot humid days. The cut is very comfortable and the added stretch makes this perfect for any activity, traveling, or just for casual occasions. I have been wearing this much more often than I expected.

These pants are perfect for hiking or yard work. I love how light they are while still resisting wind and scrapes. I look forward to wearing these for many years to come. They have great pockets and I appreciate that the waist string actually holds the pants up when my cellphone and keys are in my pocket.

[ I love these pants..... functional and great quality. They don ’ t stretch so I suggest ordering a size up. I ’ m curvy, so sizing up worked for me.

[ These snow pants were amazing! I 'm so glad I purchased these for a recent Yellowstone trip where the low temps were in the single digits. These negated any possible wind chill factor and made the trip in the cold weather just fantastic! Wish I would have purchased these sooner! I did size up simply because I 'd be wearing 2 layers underneath and very glad I did. I 'm a bit curvy and normally wear a 16 in jeans, there was a couple days that I waited to zip them up until after my boots were on, but overall, these were a great purchase!

These pants are awesome. I ordered a large and then a medium because the sizing does seem to run on the larger side. I was comfortable in both, but ultimately decided to keep the medium. I usually am a size 10, athletic build, and I am 5'10. There was just too much extra fabric in the front and hip region in the large. I have been looking for a pair of pants like this for ages and this is the perfect pant.

The most comfortable pant I own, especially for travel. The lack of a zipper and button closure make them so easy to pull up and down and comfortable to sit in. I ’ m 4 ’ 10 ” and 138lbd and wear a small that I had shortened.

G3 waders are just the ticket for me. High quality materials: durable, flexible, optimum weight. Adding the pants to my full wader set gives me the best option for water and weather conditions. Adding a small back pocket would be a nice feature.

I hear a lot of reviews saying they are roomy in the butt and thighs… a dream for big butted adventurers like me! I typically struggle with adventure gear only working for athletic builds, but these fit great! I have a big waist to hip difference and there is a cinch to help keep the waist tight. The rise is great, goes up to my belly button. I got a size large so they wouldn ’ t be tight in the butt or thighs and they drape beautifully, with plenty of room for base layers. If you ’ re a curvy gal these are for you!

I purchased these for a trip to Finland next January. I love the fit and feel of these pants, They are lightweight and stretchy, which will allow for ease of movement. Also, for traveling, they fit into a small packing cube. I think they will be excellent as a midlayer in Finland's winter temperatures. I was worried about which size to order, but I chose wisely with a Regular Large- I am 5' 2 '' 160 lbs- they fit perfect.

[ bought these for a 10 day sailing trip. we had all day rain one day and the pants kept me dry. I was questioning whether the full zip would allow water pentation, but it did not in my case of mostly standing. The full zip was great for getting them on and off easily without removing footwear. I was also able to sit on wet surfaces without water coming through.

[ I bought these for a recent hike that I completed a week ago. Of course it rained but I was prepared and the rain pants were flawless. Love the full zipper!

[ I was very skeptical.... very light weight..... I 've worn them now a half dozen times. I stay try and the light weight does n't drape to your body so you feel dry andcool.... love them... bought two pairs

[ These side- zip rain pants fir true to size over my hiking pants in the summer, and over my cross country ski softshell pants in the winter season, which gives them great versatility for year round use. The fabric sheds rain and snow, yet breathes well enough to make them acceptable as lightwt. winter shell pants. The full side zips let me take them on and off without having to remove hiking boots, or take off my XC skis, and the weight is so minimal as to always carry them in the pack when not in use.

[ Great rain pants when needed. I work out of a van and don ’ t have the luxury of changing in a house. With the full zipper on the legs, I can get them on over my boots in a jiff.

[ I like the fit and comfort of these pants. Since having babies I only wear high rise and find these fit without constantly falling down. They are supposed to come to your ankle but I have a large and I ’ m short so they ’ re longer on me. I find these are good for lounging around the house or being out and about doing errands. I ’ m not sure I would wear them as workout pants although I mainly wear shorts. Overall they work well for me and are a must buy in my book.
5
Gmom6
[ These pants are amazing! The material is soft and very versatile. It ’s kinda like a soft wind breaker like material. It ’s fall/winter weather in Iowa and I wasn ’ t freezing outside wearing them. I ’ ve gone for a run in these pants and I ’ ve used them for lounging around the house. They are very comfortable. The fit isn ’ t too bad. I personally thought they were a tad long but I also sized up thinking I would need more room in the butt. These pants are loose fit and would of been better off not sizing up. Will definitely be getting another pair!
5
Jcraye
[ These pants are one of the most comfortable that I own. They have a nice high rise that helps hold things in place. They are roomy so you could size down if you are looking for something more fitted. They seem durable as they are a wind breaker type material that seems like it would be water resistant as well. They breath well but do make a noise when you walk due to their material type. However, a great quality about their material type is that they don ’ t wrinkle. Overall, they are super soft, comfortable and fit well. I would get them in every color!

Perfection! I 've been on the search for a down pant that is n't made for 5' 9 guys that are 250lbs.
