This shirt fits perfect and will be perfect for backpacking. ... A slightly higher UPF rating would be nice, but would also make the fabric heavier, so I understand the trade- off

[ I was looking for a bright top for a bike trip and this was perfect! The fit is flattering, it ’s comfortable in heat, and the pink/orange is highly visible. Would recommend!

[ Recently returned from an extremely hot and humid vacation in Key West. Temps in the 90's. Dewpoint 75 or higher every day. Heat index of 110. I brought 2 of these Echo T- Shirts with me and lived in them. Very light and breathable and the only tops I had that did not stick to my hot and sweaty body. They wicked well and offer SPF protection. How this is accomplished in such lightweight material is a mystery to me. And no... they are not see- through like so many other lightweight options. I 'm a big fan of the modest v- neck these shirts have. I do wish they were and in or two shorter, but that's my personal preference. I highly recommend the Echo T- Shirt and the Echo Sun Hoody. Fantastic all around.

Taschi
[ I bought this shirt for hiking and backpacking. It is extremely light and comfy. I love it and can tell it will be great at wicking moisture. I only wish I have bought more:)

[ I love the Outdoor Research Echo fabric even though some might say that it snags easily. My favorites are this t- shirt and the quarter- zip long sleeve. I live in the HOT desert and when I want to keep the sun from baking my skin, this is what I reach for. These shirts are SO thin that it's as close to wearing nothing that you can get. I also love them for travel as the t- shirt can pack into practicality a 2 inch cube! I could wash this shirt with a little soap in a sandwich- baggy and it would then dry in no time at all.

[ Love the Echo T- especially for warm climates, I think I have it in half a dozen colors!

Pants are relatively lightweight, stretch is amazing, and super comfortable. ... I love how they fit, breathe and look tremendous. ... So incredibly comfortable and just perfect in every

[ These pants are wonderful! Very comfortable and multipurpose…. travel, casual, nice casual and hiking wear. These are well designed and tailored for almost any situation in which you find yourself. Not very technical looking which is great for easy transitioning from task to task

Haystacks
Pants are relatively lightweight, stretch is amazing, and super comfortable. They get wrinkly if you let them sit in the dryer for too long. So be careful on that.

I have Fessari Shorts that I love and this is my first time getting the pants. They are true to size and just as great feeling as the shorts. I like that the leg is a slightly tapered for a slimmer fit.

OR Employee - Ryan - Ecommerce
I 've had these for a few weeks now and I 'm a huge fan. They are a perfect everyday pant that still has a technical feel to them, being lightweight and stretchy. The trimmer fit looks great too. I 'd recommend for anyone that loves their Ferrosi hiking pants, but wants the look of a traditional 5 pocket pant.
5
JAC
These pants lived up to my expectations. I was looking for pants that were light, stretchy, and provided sun protection. Check, check, and check. I wore them in 90 degree heat and did n't think once about being too hot. And even though I purchased them for the outdoors, the khakis look good enough to wear to work. I would buy them again.
$99.00
A great pant for hiking or everyday activities. ... And it ’s very LIGHT AND BREATHABLE. ... They are stylish and the short length works great for me. ... It ’s perfect for

[ These pants are comfortable, lightweight and have just right stretch- perfect for a hike in the woods- and look great. No bagginess. I am 5' 3 '' and the small fits perfectly.

[ I have several Outdoor Research Ferrosi pants and capris. They are my favorite of all brands due to the excellent fit, comfortable tricot- lined waistband, zippered rear and leg pockets, deep front pockets and the drawstring waist.

Aly33
[ I took these hiking pants on a two week backpacking trip in Alaska and they held up great! Super lightweight yet durable. They were a little big in the waist, but the drawstring helped for a better fit.
$99.00
Not sure how they managed that without sacrificing durability but so far it's held up beautifully! ... Great for Spring and early Fall. ... Solid layer ... I 'm a sweaty hiker and it's pretty amazing how little sweat this shows and how fast it
5
jjcep
I purchased this hoodie for sun protection on a recent 9- day backpacking trip. I bought the light grey colour because I thought it could double as bug protection, since the mosquitoes were horrendous. I really liked how feather- light it was, it dried fast and the hood was great when the bugs were fierce. Furthermore, all the bug/blood/sweat stains cleaned up nicely after the trip and it looks good as new! As for durability and wind- proofness, I will bring it on my next two canoe trips this July and report back:)
5
Frankie
I love this pullover the fabric is lightweight and comfortable. I use it for running and often layer the Astroman tank under it. Great for Spring and early Fall. Living in the South it is the perfect weight.
5
Taryn S
Works as a great base layer over a top too
5
Mollie L
Quite happy with this version of the Astroman! Still the same great sun protection and durability but the material seems lighter/faster drying somehow. Not sure how they managed that without sacrificing durability but so far it's held up beautifully! I 'm a sweaty hiker and it's pretty amazing how little sweat this shows and how fast it dries. This lil hoody is also extremely packable- have taken it on quite a few birding/hiking trips and long days bike- packing. I plan to take it to AZ this weekend for a friend's bday trip to really put it to the test( I 've been using it in Idaho thus far). Also- LOVE this pink color. I would buy anything and everything in this pink, so dang cute! I bought a Small and Medium and I 'm keeping the Medium- I 'm 5' 4 '' and about 140- 150lbs( 30 '' waist and 40 '' low hip, aka most of my weight is in my booty/thighs). The small fit fine, but I prefer a looser fit for layering and breathability:) And because this is a sun shirt, looser fit is best for the fabric to keep out sun rays, anyways. The ONLY thing I would change about this: please move the pocket to the chest or somewhere more useful. It's on the right hip and goes backwards which is strange and not natural at all, I really dislike it. I 'd prefer it be on the chest( like the men's version) or even still on the hip but a zippered drop pocket( like the Freewheel Hoodie).

Anna W
Perfect piece for an avid outdoorswoman; thin enough to pack up super well.

Light, breathable, stretchy, and minimalist. Great shell for hiking, running, skiing, or just walking around town. The 'cenote' blue is just right.

Jeff
Love this piece so far. I 'm 6' 4 '', 250lbs and the XL fits me great. I typically need to order XLT shirts but this is sized well for me. Sleeves are good length but would n't have minded another inch. Thumb holes would have been nice. I have to maneuver a little to get it over my chest( 46 inch) but it's not a problem, just noticeable. The material has a nice stretch to it. Might have a shirt on underneath or nothing under depending on temperature and wind. Love the hood fit with or without a hat. Zipped up the hood stays on well. Zippers work well. I 've washed it several times now and the material and color still look new. Washing on delicate and hang dry. I like it so much I might get another.
5
D S
Absolutely love this shirt. It ’s made of magic. Awesome for summer around water. Dries very quickly. Can wear swimming instead of sunblock. Keeps the sun off you and keeps you cool as it breathes well. Also keeps you warm as the sun goes down. I have a bunch of these. I wear them all the time! Great for most outdoor activities.
5
Thomas A
I live in this thing all summer. On the boat, on the beach, biking the Andes Mountain. I also got it treated for mosquito protection. It's my favorite piece of clothing.

MA
Im a female in carpentry and these are my favorite shorts! They do n't ride up, the inseam is perfect length& ca n't see anything up my shorts when I 'm on a ladder, the waist band is so stretchy and comfy these are perfect with my heavy tool belt, they keep me so cool on hot days. And they have a sporty yet professional look to them. These shorts are perfect.
5
Samantha S
Unbelievable shorts with amazing stretch for those big thigh girlies. I think my only critique is the pockets stick out a little too much for my liking. However the deep pockets are very VERY much appreciated! The waist band of these shorts is supple and so comfy, never a moment of feeling like it ’s too tight or had buttons pushing into me. Can be used for hikes, swims, paddle boarding, and climbing.
$180.00
Bought this mainly for a boat/cycling trip in coming spring& wanted something light, breathable, easily packable& waterproof. ... It packs down super small and is incredibly breathable which is needed for us down in Alabama where it can still be very hot while

i use the Helium Rain Jacket in addition to a 700 fill goosedown esp. when i ride out into wilderness. while it will not protect against sheer downpours, it will if you 're under a tree! plus, in conjunction with the puffer i stay super warm and dry while packing small and light. imperative on a horse!

Colorado Gal
[ As a rock climber, I need my adventures to be flawless& refined. The Helium rain jacket packs down into its pocket& I can clip it to my harness for instant on hand protection from the unpredictable Colorado weather. I 'm often stuck between a small& medium in other brands sizing but this is a perfect fit. I 'm 5' 4 '', 126lbs 36 '' chest& it is Perfect! I love the color too!
5
Lynn
[ This is a great rain/wind jacket. It's lightweight, does the job and-- best of all- quiet! Too many rain jackets are just loud and deafening to wear. Not this one. It has quickly become my go- to jacket for brisk, windy days when there's a potential for rain.

Color& durability are so perfect!!!

The fabric is incredibly light and breathable! ... One of the best layers for summer or winter. ... This is the perfect weight- it does n't matter how warm it is, I know I 'm protected from the sun but am still

Pacific Huckleberry
[ I now own 3 of these. I got them for backpacking for some sun protection without overheating and I like to wear them a little loose for extra ventilation or layering over a t- shirt. I end up living in them all summer long as they are also great for water sports. And when it ’s a slightly cooler evening they are a nice layer to have. Love the the ponytail hole feature! They are super comfy, lightweight and dry quickly.
5
Andrea
I 've used this for paddle- boarding when it's a little chilly and for protection from the sun. It's also a great base layer for cooler hikes. Very comfortable, has thumb holes and fits true to size! And a cool bonus feature, it has a slit in the hood to pull your ponytail through.!!!
5
Patti
[ I absolutely love how light and breathable this shirt is. I 've worn it over a shirt when I needed just a bit more and it was perfect. I love how soft it is against your skin. It's my new favorite shirt!!
5
Sun friend
I wanted something to wear while I did aerobic activities on sunny, warm days. Other sun shirts I tried were too thick- I 'd roll up the sleeves( so I might as well have worn a short sleeve) and the shirt would get soaked and stick to me. This sun shirt is thin, so very breathable and fast drying. I know it comes at the cost of sun protection but this is what I was optimizing for.
5
Karla A.
I absolutely love this key piece of hiking gear. It's nice to have in sunny/ hot weather and very lightweight. I can also use it in windy chilly conditions. I really like the color in lilac too.:)
$159.00
I like them as much as anything first lite I have in my outdoor clothing collection. ... Great for hiking, skiing, even just walking around ... Pants look good, durable and fit

2WheelFun
[ Does n't have the baggy bro- brah fit- thankfully. Still has enough room through the bottom leg for big boots and a gusseted crotch. Simple pant but well done, really all you can ask for.
5
[ I really like these and wear them while fat biking the winter. Now need for a bottom layer even down to 10 degrees while on the fat bike. They are tough I have scraped them on branches and stuff with out a mark.
5
Jeff
[ I used them for a week in the Cascades, an attempt on Mount Rainier in whiteout conditions and a successful summit of Mount Hood including a glissade on the way down. They were awesome!

Bought these for my husband as he finally wore out his previous pair. Some differences made over time but overall he's pleases with them.

dano99664
[ I bought this pair for a backup to a pair I currently use on all my outings in the backcountry where I live. In this part of the country, it can get extreme and in the winter time, we use snowshoes most of the time because of the steep, rugged, and forested area. Flexibility for mobility is necessary for comfortable traveling conditions. The better I feel the farther I can go.
$89.00
These are great for working out, hiking, walking, etc. ... Most comfortable and practical sun hoodie I have ever owned. ... The fabric feel is great too. ... Comfortably stretchy and breathable, definitely felt cooler in it than

HogCaller
[ I recently bought a bunch of sunblock hoodies and have been wearing this a lot more than the others so far this summer, I love it! I 've been hit with skin cancer on my face twice now so trying to find ways to cover up when I 'm outside that do n't require me to bath in sunblock lotion. For context: I live in Arkansas and it's been super hot& humid. We 're currently in the upper 90's/lower 100's with pretty high humidity- dew points in the 70- 75 range most days. For that kind of weather this is the by far the most comfortable of the 3 other sun blocking hoodies I 've tried. This material is very breathable and lightweight like a tech shirt, but it fits loose and does n't show off the finer details of every fat roll I have like a tech shirt. It looks good just wearing it around. The `` activeice '' part is n't entirely obvious like wearing an air conditioner, but I noticed the other day that my exposed legs felt hotter in the sun and took longer to cool off once I got out than my arms/torso so it does seem to actually do something. If you live in a hot climate that is also humid, there is n't a better option I 've found, so just buy this. Most of the others I 've tried use some cotton- like materials that soak up humidity or they are thicker& less breathable and start to get a bit too warm when the temp hits 90's and the humidity is high. My only complaint is the collar/base of the hood. The closest pic of the hood up on OR's website you 'll find is a guy reaching back to start to pull it up, so I 'm assuming they already know the hood looks a bit funny, but sharing on the off chance they read this for next years version. I wish the hood had two sections that crossed under the chin or something similar instead of the solid strip. I do appreciate the neck coverage and it looks good when the hood is down, but when the hood is up you look like you 're in one of those face- in- hole photo boards or about to go bee- keeping. Most of my friends are master- level wisecrackers so it will have to be really sunny day before I wear this around them with the hood up. Pro- Tip: It looks better( to me at least) when wearing a hat and pulling the hood over the brim, and gives better sun protection on the sides of your face that way as well. My second minor improvement would be that it could be maybe just one inch longer, I 'm 6'00 '' and 200 lbs. The length is great for the most part but if I 'm reaching straight up it shows a bit of belly. Overall though, this is easily the winner of the bunch I 've tried for the dead heat of summer.

[ This product is noticeably better than another sun hoodie I own and I got to test them both on a Mt. Baker climb weekend. The OR hoodie is well constructed, fits well, and most importantly, kept me cool and protected from the sun.

[ I bought these for my Dad who hikes a lot in the summer heat. He said they fit well and the material is nice. I have the Women's pants version and they are my favorite hiking pants. In summer they are nice and cool and in cooler weather they work well with a base layer.

[ Comfortable, sturdy and looks good
$129.00
This may look a little wonky, but it works beautifully, and it's the only option, since there's no drawstring adjustment on the hood. ... Great super light weight

Love this jacket, incredibly light and packable, breathes great, but still provides some nice light protection against wind or a light drizzle.
5
OR Employee (Charlie, Product Team)
I am an OR employee and have used prototype versions of this jacket over the past couple years. The fabric works very well at giving both wind and light weather protection AND breathability and stretch. For running, mountain biking and as an `` up- hill jacket '' for backcountry ski touring it is amazing because it adds warmth in cool and cold temps, but breathes enough to prevent overheating so much better than traditional windshells. And it is ultralight and highly packable. Best of all worlds.( It does not replace a rain jacket though. It is water resistant, but far from waterproof.)
5
PNWhiker28
I bought this to try out in spring/summer in Washington and it is fantastic. It's super light weight but does a great job at blocking the wind and light rain. The fit is trim but not overly loose( I got a large with a 41 '' chest, 6', 188 lbs). It has quickly become my go to windbreaker and has replaced my Arc'teryx Squamish hoody. Definitely worth the buy!
5
Intermittent Grouch
This jacket is extremely comfortable. I 'm 5' 6 '' with broad shoulders and a more or less triangular shape( not a body builder by any stretch, though). The medium fits me perfectly with room to layer. I expect it's long enough for taller people, too. It breaths well, provides good wind protection, and a small amount of protection from precipitation. The first time I tried running in this jacket, the hood flopped annoyingly into my field of view. I have since discovered that you can just fold the brim back once or twice to tighten up the fit. This may look a little wonky, but it works beautifully, and it's the only option, since there's no drawstring adjustment on the hood. It's very nice to have hand- warmer pockets, which many wind shells omit.

Rob W.
This jacket is a light, packable, and comfortable. Perfect for warm weather adventures that just need a little extra layer to block the wind. It packs down into a small pouch that can be tossed in your pack or beach bag for that `` ace in the hole '' when needed. Unlike many competing brands, this jacket is made of a very soft material and does not have the crinkle feeling like you are putting on a trash bag. Also unique to this jacket compared to it's competitor's is that it has front handwarmer pockets as well as a chest pocket( most packable options do not). The pockets in my opinion bring it from just being a quick grab backup plan to an intentionally worn and functional jacket. The chest pocket is a great spot to quickly store your cell phone and the front hand pockets give you that sensation like you just put on your favorite hoodie sweatshirt. I have worn it while hiking mountains during the summer in Maine to hanging out on the beach in Costa Rica on a windy day.

This was a gift for my boyfriend. He liked the short sleeve version so much, I got the long sleeve version for him to wear on an upcoming hiking trip to Italy. Soft, comfortable, provides sun- protection, great for layering. Looks good too!

This is a great light weight breathable shirt. Fits true to size
$129.00
In terms of water protection they were as good as any of the previous ones they have used. ... I liked them as they appear to be built well and show no signs of wear after being used for a month long
5
Kallie K
Kids go to a camp in CO where it rains a fair amount so rain pants are on the required packing list. This was the pair they had this year and they loved them. They were great because they were light weight and easy to pack. In terms of water protection they were as good as any of the previous ones they have used. I liked them as they appear to be built well and show no signs of wear after being used for a month long camp.

Maria P
These pants are soft, lightweight and the stretch is an added bonus for a rain paint. The sizing is true to size and I will get lots of use on these pants for both backpacking and backcountry adventures in the winter too!
5
Matt L
I ’ m super happy with these. My husband and I both have a pair. They have seen five days in the BWCAW and two weeks in the bighorns and wind rivers of Wyoming. Everything rain and wind to hail and wet snow. Great pants to have in the top of your pack for whatever the weather throws at you.

From the description, I 'd much rather wear these than my current rain pants. But what's the inseam for a Medium? Size Small looks long on your 5' 8 '' model.

[ Really like the waffle design. Perfect for layering or by itself in spring and fall. Beware description says it has thumbholes, but it does not. I love OR thumbholes. None here. Other than that, super piece of gear!
$170.00
It ’s breathable, and with proper mid layer moister management, you can hike all day in the rain and be as dry as you would be in any other rain
5
Curtis R
Super light and packable. It kept me nice and dry when needed. I found it runs small if you intend to put it over layers, recommend size up over a puffer like nano puff.

Joseph V
This rain jacket is super impressive. When it comes to traveling, camping, hiking, or even exploring new cities, countries, etc. You ca n't beat the portability of this jacket. It is super thin and light making it easy to roll up and store into any type of bag weather it's a backpack, purse, or even large fanny pack. Even for being so light and thin, it easily stops water from getting through. I 've had zero issues with any type of moisture getting inside either due to prolonged periods of water exposure or leaks through any seals and stitching. I will say, because it's so thin, in colder weather, you would need a warmer layer underneath to act as insulation. That being said, you might need to get one size up than normal so it can fit over any layers you need. Also, if you are traveling through any thick brush or scraping up against rocks, you need to be careful about scraping or snagging any sharp/rough surfaces too hard to prevent any micro/macro tears in the material. Being so thin, it's not super durable, but it's not very easily torn either. Overall fantastic product and highly recommend

Rf38585
This is a super light, rain shedding jacket. Is it 100% water proof? No, but no rain jacket is. It ’s breathable, and with proper mid layer moister management, you can hike all day in the rain and be as dry as you would be in any other rain jacket. Pairs great with alpha direct layer underneath.

I bought 3 helium jkts, use Nikwax to re- waterproof. These types of UL jkts loose proofing by washing or sweat oil. All jkts of this type need re- waterproofing. This is a great product

This packs so small much like the houdini but has a little more weather protection. I use mine for my just incase jacket trail running and has already proved super useful! Exactly has expected for performance.

I really did n't know what to expect from this product but I have a pair of ferrosi leggings that I love so I thought I 'd give these a try. I 'm glad I did! I bought the blue and aside from the fact they just look really cool with the two tone color, they fit and feel great. And the thoughtful extras- like deep side pockets- are greatly appreciated. I bought these at the end of the winter season and was sad that they might sit in a drawer for months before it was again cold enough to use them, but then we had one of those raw April days in the Midwest. These tights were so perfect. I 'll be buying a second pair.
5
junellemay
I love these. I was already partial to feel of the Ferrosi fabric, and these leggings are heavenly. Visually, the combination of fabrics make for an updated fresh look.
5
dogmom3
Awesome pants for hikes with my 3 dogs. Comfortable, look great and slide right over my very flat feet. These pants will be my everyday pair for walking the dogs.
4
CH
Got these leggings because I love my ferrosi pants and was curious about the fabric in a legging version. The fit is true to size( I 'm 5' 4 '', 120 lbs and got a size small, which I typically wear in OR), and they 're very flattering. My one complaint is that the waist does n't stretch!! Getting it over my hips is a pain, but once the pants are on they 're comfortable. I likely wo n't wear them on trail as much since it would be a pain to use the bathroom if I have to fight the waistband.

Sunfish
I was provided this model of Ferrosi Hybrid leggings to replace a previous pair( the warranty issue was such a complete fluke that really, I should have bought a lottery ticket because the chances of it happening in another pair of leggings would be next to impossible). So A. GREAT work OR for standing behind your products and B. They were replaced by a newer model. Turns out, this is a super cute legging. I love the pockets- they are placed well, good size, extremely functional. I am not sure if I am entirely sold on the two tone black color. When I pulled them out of the wash the back almost looked navy blue- but it could have been the lighting. I have a weird hangup with black and navy together. But really, these are super functional for outdoor pursuits, I am very happy with them.
$170.00
Will be good for hikes, windy climbing days and packs down to stow small in a pack. ... excellent light weight jacket, strong material and a nice color. ... A reliable lightweight option to keep rain off me on the occasional backpacking downpour is all I

[ It is exactly what my husband wanted and he can comfortably layer it over the sweater. It is true to size and is perfect to pack in a bag as a windbreaker or rain jacket for the unexpected weather that you did not plan. He plans to keep it in his car.

[ I ’ ve only used it a handful of times thus far. Easy to ventilate for the muggy/rainy days. Maybe go one size up if you like to carry a daypack on your quests.

Bought this for cycling in the light rain. Nice fit and weight. I 'm 6' 3 '' and 200 lbs. and a large is a nice slim fit. Packs down small and is easy to stow. Not 100% waterproof, but kept me mostly dry on a 3 hour downpour bike ride. If you 're on the husky side, you might size up to an XL.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. He was looking for a thin vest to work over long sleeve button up shirts. This is the perfect weight for that purpose. I will update review once he ’s had the opportunity to open his gift and try it out!

[ It ’s far too warm to try this out here in the southeast yet, but I am impressed. It weighs little( comparable to a down vest), fits great( Medium, 5 ’ 7 ”, 155 lbs), and packs down small. It ’s just what I wanted for some emergency warmth when I ’ m out in the woods. I wanted synthetic insulation because we don ’ t have that dry cold of the frozen north in which down excels; I ’ m more likely to be cold and damp.

Michael
Just that extra touch of warmth maybe a little bit more and without the bulk. Its feather light. Needs a chest pocket but zippers and extra material add weight I get it. Glad I purchased this vest as it is easily a quick grab go to especially with the mild winter so far in the PNW. It will be with me every time I am carrying a day pack as well while skiing.

[ Just purchased the Superstrand LT vest. Absolutely love it. It's weightless and I forget I am wearing it!

I 'll admit when I picked this vest up I was a little hesitant on its warmth keeping abilities do to its light weight and fragile feel. Let's just say I was very impressed how well it works to keep me warm. This is a great little vest. I would think the full sleeve jacket version would be too warm for me on a regular basis in the spring time in the PNW so this is perfect for my needs of casual walking around and hiking in 40- 50 degree weather. Over 55 degrees walking around I start sweating with this and a long sleeve shirt on. Very happy with this purchase.

This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. In summary, this is a durable, lightweight, packable and versatile jacket that does its job in the back- country but transitions seamlessly to the front- country. Highly recommended.

I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

This jacket I has an incredible warmth to weight ratio. The reinforced areas are positioned perfectly for use with backpacks and tactical gear. Very comfortable and warm. Packs up very nicely if you ’ re a backpacker and space conscious.

Love that this uses a fairly high fill power down( 800+), making it warm and space/weight efficient. I have higher fill power items like MH ghost whisperer UL( 1000 FP), but most UL garments use fragile fabrics and do n't have any weather protection, so they 're really limited to cold, dry weather. The Helium Down Jacket has weather resistance in key areas due to the Pertex Diamond Fuse panels, which makes it more versatile. It wo n't be a great outer layer if you 're expecting heavy rain, but I wear it by itself in a light mist or under a shell if heavy rain is expected. The Pertex panels are a little crinkly, but not as loud as some reviews suggest. I found the sizing to be accurate. This is quickly becoming a staple of my wardrobe from fall through spring. Thanks OR!

Have had great experiences with OR gear. Have n't put this to use yet, but zippers and fabric looks like they will hold up through several winters. Contrasting zippers and two shades of blue make this stand out.

I love this version of the Ferrosi shorts. I have spent far too much time and money trying to find shorts that met my expectations. These are durable, fit well, and are made of material that is light and stretchy. I do n't overheat in these and they do n't seem to constrict my movement. My only request would be for rear pockets and maybe another belt loop or two, but I understand why the pockets were left off this version as well. Overall, these are great quality shorts. I own several pair in different colors and they are always the first shorts I reach for when I have a choice.
5
Mark
These shorts are awesome. True to size and the stretch waist in the back gives you so much freedom of movement. I 've been using these primarily as a mountain bike short with a chamois liner underneath. The length is great as it comes down to my knee pads. The Ferrosi material is the right durability and weight for long rides. I like them so much the second pair are on their way to me now!

I picked these up( 2 pair) for a road trip through several national parks. The long inseam is incredible as I 'm 6' 5 ''. They were amazing. Light, flexible, durable. They made my trip hassle free and comfy, even on 12 hour drives.

[ Super breathable but also adds a lot of warmth. As long as it's not too windy or wet, this layer does great! Very good for hiking approaches or for climbing in on colder days. The fit is trim/athletic which allows it to fit snug and shed moisture really well. Totally recommend. I had this in a hoody version and now have the half zip also.

I bought this shirt to use for everything from travelling to backpacking to working out to just kicking around the house. For a lot of synthetic shirts I wear an undershirt because the material does n't feel great against my skin. This one is super comfortable. Probably the biggest testimony I can give is that I 've found myself wearing it for 3 days in a row. I just like the fit. I live in Maine and this is going to be perfect for Spring. And Summer. And Fall. And Winter.
5
Seth
I picked this up in preparation for a trip to Scotland at the tail end of the winter season. Temperatures averaged 28- 40 degrees Fahrenheit with strong winds and light rain being common. This garment worked extremely well over top of a cheap polyester base layer and often only needed a rain jacket to help protect against the wind when out hiking. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a lightweight and warm midlayer.

Comfy and soft. Reminds me of the army poly pro

Great fit-- not too snug, not too loose. Light to medium weight is perfect for hiking in 50- 60 degree weather, or as a baselayer in colder temps. And the waffle fabric feels great next to the skin.

[ I ’ ve been looking for a lightweight, high fill- power down vest to provide some more loft and warmth to wear on its own over sweaters, flannel or wool shirts. This vest is perfect! Great fit( 5 ’ 10 ”, 175 lbs, size L), cozy collar, comfortable zip under the chin and awesome fleece- lined zip pockets. Like the three zippered pockets. All in all, great fit, warmth, light weight, cozy warmth and features.

[ I was looking for a down vest and this had everything I wanted. The three pockets in the front work well. The design is very comfortable and is easy to pack. I wanted something I could layer with and this is perfect. I think it looks great too.

[ I have a down jacket from OR, nearly 10 years old now. It has held up well over the years. I expect the same of the Helix Down Vest. For purchase consideration, this runs slightly small. It may be snug if you order your usual size.

[ By far these are the most versatile climbing pants I have ever owned. I bought the first pair and hit the rock gym, I was impressed, I took them on a trip to do some lead climbing and was blown away. The amazing stretch allows you to make those big kicks to the next foot placement with confidence. The material is bombproof and made for the wild, I scrapped these against all kinds of rock and not a scratch on them. The stitching is fantastic, they have built in ankle adjustments so you can run them shorter when it's hot, they have a zip and button fly, integrated waist tie, belt loops if you need to run a belt, 2 zip pockets( right thigh and right rear) and 3 regular pockets, the material breathes like it's cotton, but dries fast when wet. Crazy versatile gear. Outdoor Research truly lives up to their name, the attention to the fine details is what sets these pants apart. Go ahead and click add to cart with confidence.

[ This is my second pair. They 're comfortable, look good, and are tough! I did every awful thing I could think of to the first pair: woods, mud, crawling over rock, spilling beer! They held up great and are still going, but looking a little worn after 9 years of abusing them. Bought another pair for traveling.

[ These pants are excellent. I work outdoors in the heat and sun and nothing beats these lightweight pants. As stretchy and comfortable as joggers, while looking as clean and professional as chinos. Can not recommend these enough. Your normal waist and inseam size will work because of the stretch, however the waist runs half- an- inch to an inch small and the length is half and inch long in my opinion.

[ Just received my Outdoor Research Ferrosi pants. First thing I noticed was the softness of the material. The pants fit perfectly in fact I 'll be wearing them even when not hiking. The zippered thigh pocket is big enough for the phone. The two front pockets are huge and I like the back zippered pocket for my maps. The fit is not tight or loose. Upon bending, the Ferrosi material seemed to be stretchable and not confining. The pants felt comfortable and breathable to the point that I thought I was wearing shorts. Even hiking during the New Mexico monsoons, I kept dry. Hiking through the brush, I was n't sure if the pants would tear, the Ferrosi pants passed the test. As far as style is concerned, I feel and look great in these Ferrosi pants. Keep up the good work Outdoor Research, ca n't wait to get a Ferrosi jacket.

[ These pants are extremely comfortable, and they do not bind. They are also cool in hot weather, and dry out quickly if they get wet. I have tried to get by with cheaper alternatives from a big box warehouse store that starts with C. But they never fit right. It ’s worth it to spend a little more and get these pants.

[ These pants are great for hiking in wet weather! Slip them on over the shorts. For reference, 6' 1 '', slim build and pants were right at a good length for me( I usually get a 32 '' inseam). Do the job as intended. Got the matching jacket, both work great.

I dug a trench in the rain, in January, during some terrible rains in the middle of the night to keep my basement from flooding. I was dry and comfortable in these pants. I was impressed with this jacket from the moment I received it. Even before wearing it, I could see that the attention to detail and quality is top- notch. The stitching, the inside seams, and the quality of materials all look and feel great right off the bat. I was not disappointed when I took this on my first rainy hike. Water beaded up nicely on the outside of the shell and the pit zips came in very handy as I started heating up. I really like that the material has a somewhat soft feel to it- its not slick like other rain jackets I 've worn in the past. The material is much quieter when moving as well. I also got several complements on the jacket from some fellow hikers( I have the Cenote version- I love the color combo!) My one wish is that that the hood brim had a little more heft to it. A slightly stiffer brim would be nice during heavy rain or windy conditions. Overall I highly recommend this jacket. Its lightweight, waterproof, and a great value given the outstanding quality and overall performance.

Trailblazer
As an avid runner and cyclist, I 've put this jacket through the wringer, and I 'm thrilled to report that it truly lives up to its promise. Let me break down why this jacket is an absolute game- changer: Versatility: This jacket adapts seamlessly to any activity. Whether I 'm sprinting on the trails or cruising on my bike, it stretches with me, allowing unrestricted movement. No more feeling constricted during intense workouts! Weather Warrior: Rain? No problem. The waterproof feature keeps me bone- dry, even during heavy downpours. But here's the magic: it's also breathable! Say goodbye to that clammy feeling- I stay comfortable and fresh throughout my activities. Perfect Fit: As a taller guy( 6' 3 ''), finding a jacket that fits well can be a challenge. But the size Large is spot- on. It hugs my frame without being too tight, and the length is just right. Effectively eliminating awkward adjustments mid- run! This jacket is my new go- to for all weather conditions. It's like having a trusty sidekick that never lets you down. If you 're serious about performance, this is the jacket for you!

I 've had these for over a month now and> 10 workouts. They fit great, size M for an athletic- but- not- huge guy, 6' 2 '' 200# with a waistline that varies 31- 33 ''. Quick drying, great for runs and everything else I 've done in them. They 'll be right at home for daily wear when the weather warms up. If durability maintains, these are a 10/10 for me. Quality feels just a bit better than comparable Patagonia shorts.

I use these leggings for running in cool to cold temperatures, and they do great with sweat management. The pocket is in a much better spot than the previous version so that they can be used to hold a phone or energy bar with minimal bouncing. They also do well in PNW wet weather, keeping my legs warm even when soaked through with rain.
5
Roberto
Predominantly a cold weather running pant, though I have used it for nordic skiing as well. I find the pant performs exactly as I hoped, meaning that I can run in above freezing temperatures without overheating, but do n't freeze at- 10C. Excellent fit, trim but not tight, great freedom of movement.

Pat
Very pleased. I 'm shorter/stockier( 5' 5 '' /170lbs) and the medium was great for me( 32 '' waist), although they fit a bit snugger than shown in the taller model on the website. VERY warm pants. I would have liked regular pockets as well, but the two side leg pockets work great for phone/keys. Great for shoveling snow or running and everything in- between!

This is my second pair of these pants. I think they are great. I use them all winter on mountain treks. Very comfortable and when it gets colder, I just layer with my merino wool underneath. I 'm 5- 7 '' and weigh 160#. And the mediums fit great.

[ Love the style, light weight, and quick dry. Will be making this my go to backpacking shirt in the evenings this summer. Comfortable fit and stretch for hiking and mountain biking. Great quality and design. Feels comfortable even in 103 degree whether while drenched in sweat and dirt; and quick drying. So, everyone loves a good hoodie, and this might be the perfect shoulder season hoodie. It's been a beautiful spring so far here in the PNW; cold in the mornings, but still kind of chilly in the afternoon. This hoodie is perfect for this weather. It's nice and warm in the morning, but does n't seem to over heat when the sun hits it. A perfect hoodie for around the fire or those early morning inconvenient coffee bike meetups. The only low point of the hoodie is that it's sizing is a little on the smaller side. Fit's a little more like an XL than a XXL Other than that, it might be my new favorite hoodie.

This is hands down the softest hoodie I have ever owned. I do n't ever want to take it off. Its light which is great cause you do n't get to warm in it compared to traditional hoodies due to the the high quality materials used. I wish they had more colors cause I need one for everyday of the week

I wore these pants 32 days straight while walking the Camino Frances in Spain. They were terrific. East to hand wash at night yet be dry in the morning. Lightweight for hot Spanish sunshine yet keeping me warm in the morning. Easy to zip off when your exertions make you sweaty. I did n't even bother alternating with the joggers from another brand, which quickly became my pajama bottoms for cold nights.

BlueEyes
I use these shorts for hiking, camping, the zoo, and other outdoor activities that I might get sweaty or dirty doing. They fit great. I wear a women's 14- 16 depending on the bottoms and the 14 fits very well. They have a little give in them as well which is nice. I love that the slightly longer inseam helps prevent them from riding up in between the legs when walking( I find it annoying when my shorts do that). I hike with my phone in the back pocket and have not had any issues. I also like that the front pockets are very deep! The side zipper pocket is not very big but is still useful for things like keys and tissues.

[ These are the best hiking shorts. I love the slightly longer length- I 'm 5' 8 '' 120- 125 lbs and the size 2 fits me great and is super comfortable on the hike and running errands afterwards. I have 2 pair and will probably buy more.

I love these shorts. They are lightweight, breathable, and the pockets are a great size. Even better, there are several lengths to choose from. I am over 50 yo, and the 7 '' shorts are perfect. There is a drawstring in the waistband, so they feel secure. Will buy them in several colors for summer hiking.

Finally, the absolute perfect pair of pants!! I am so excited! I have long been obsessed with the Ferrosi fabric, and joggers are my favorite style of pants. They are legitimately the most comfortable and functional pants I 've ever owned and I hope they make so many more colors. I fluctuate between the 16 and 16W sizes in the regular Ferrosi pants, and the XL in the joggers fit me perfectly. I could also probably wear the XXL but they 'd be significantly looser than the model in the pic and I like them a little form fitting. I would say to size down if you 're in between sizes unless you want them baggy. The drawstring waist is so comfy and non- restrictive, and the cuffs hit right at the ankle of my 5'10 '' frame. They are the perfect amount of stretchy but hold their shape, they 're super breathable and water resistant, and honestly more comfortable than most of my pajama pants! Way to go OR!

Love these. Love the fit, fabric and style. I usually wear leggings hiking but wanted something more durable and still flexible. These fit the bill perfectly. I 'm 5' 5 '', 155. lb and got a medium. They are a little baggy but not too bad. I like them a bit more flowy.

Great pant for all casual outings. Several trips to the rock climbing gyms and the trails, and loving it!

Greta M
The most comfortable waistband. It has some type of very soft liner in the waistband that is a treat. Yes, these are a little higher- waisted then my other outdoor joggers, but it works because you can easily and comfortably, roll down the waistband without bulk. Material is so, so comfy( and no swish/swish when walking, etc). I 'm a 27/4 pants in Women's and probably could 've sized down to an XS). Length great at 5' 4 but the design is such that I can comfortably roll- up the bottom once and they still look 'cute' and are functional.

[ I 'm 5'10 '', 155 lbs and medium fit perfect. Not too loose, not too tight. The material is such that it feels cooler in the sun than not wearing any shirt at all. Very durable given how light the garment is. Would definitely recommend.

I like that it is longer than the other Foray versions The longer Parka style provides better rain and snow protection than the shorter Jacket

I 've been wearing this since last winter in Seattle, and it provides excelent protection from cold rain while looking clean and professional.

I use this as an everyday jacket for plain clothes LE work in PA. It is insanely warm for how light weight it is. Water repellency and wind resistance is excellent. Excellent balance between weight and warmth. Only downfall is the length makes it difficult to get to a sidearm when zipped up.

Impressive 3- 1 after wearing out my North Face 3- 1 system I have wore for years. Bought this to replace it and I am happy with what my research settled upon. Love the zip out silk liner as a stand alone lite duty jacket, a nd the shell works excellent as a rain cover. This is a great system for a beginner or an expert in the field or out on the town. Size runs true and is a little longer than expected but I did not mind the extra length to cover my hind end.

fabric started fraying within one use. I 'll be reaching out to OR to see about a warranty claim. used this during a range day in the rain and my chest rig caused it to fray after first use. otherwise is very water resistant.

Great for running and as a top layer ... What I found during my runs is that I moves well with the body, I did not have any complaints about restriction I felt I could run and even sprint without

Bought this on sale from a third party. Well constructed, smooth sealed zipper function and seemingly durably material. Have a Rab raincoat which does not have the same degree of durability. Had the opportunity to wear this in a variety of rainy conditions over the last 3 weeks. Remained dry with no wet through after 70 minutes of light to moderate steady rain. The must have chest pocket kept electronics dry throughout. I am 5 ’ 8 ” 152 lbs and range between small or medium depending on cut. This coat seems to a slightly fitted cut and the small fit fine with room for a base layer and either micro puff vest or jacket with still plenty of room for movement. Large vents are bidirectional. Small criticism of all rain coats of this version would be the lack of lining/light pil on the inside front of the jacket when it is fully zipped- the fabric can get a little harsh around your chin/mouth. Light weight and readily packable. Not yet sure what the DWR retreat rate will be but mfg specs suggest using Nikwax wash/treat products. To date, a nice light weight, waterproof shell. So far, 5 stars.

Great mid weight jacket with a wide range of uses. Hiking, spring skiing, mountaineering. OR makes great products and this jacket is no different

I needed a jacket that would perform in a variety of extreme environments when going inside was not an option. This jacket filled this role perfectly and has kept me dry while exploring the north Maine Woods more recently while hiking through the cloud rain forest in Costa Rica. On a cool rainy day, you can keep warm with all the vents closed and a puffy underneath. While in warmer humid weather, just open the massive vents on the sides and keep dry while still being able to `` breath '' and stop sweat from soaking you from the inside out. It is very weight efficient, easily packed, and well cut for the active user. The chest pocket is also a favorite feature of mine to safely store a cell phone while on the move yet keeping it easily accessible.

The new 3L Fabric is a huge improvement over the older Foray, it's robust, has just enough stretch, and overall is impressive. I was somewhat hesitant as they moved away from Gore but seeing it in person I am 100 percent a fan and it's better in every way. The only improvement, and OR please make this happen, is the branding. Make a Blacked out version without the contrasting logos, that would put this jacket as the best among the best.

Finally... A jacket that does what it says its going to do- so happy I purchased this. Excellent rain protection I experienced over 2 hours in medium rain on walk. No wet out, no leakage- water just ran off and kept me dry the whole time. Highly recommend this jacket for sure!

Used these on a hike up Mount Monadnock, temp was sub freezing the entire hike and I was comfortable during the climb. I 'm 6' 225lbs and ordered an XL. They were slightly big on me despite the sizing guide saying this should be my size. I had to draw down the belt as far as I could. However there would be plenty of room to layer if I needed too

[ The Coldfront is warmer than expected, much more into the down parka range than the down sweater end of things. The fit is comparable to other OR jackets, maybe just slightly roomier for an extra layer. I am 5 ’ 10 ”, 145 lbs, and the small fits well though the sleeves could use an extra 1/2 ” or so

[ Bought on black friday and is the warmest jacket that I own. The down feels full and dense, and cold dry days are no longer an issue, I 'm very careful to keep it away from the rain. Fit was accurate, perfect for myself.

I love this jacket. I looks great and has more room than the typical OR jacket. I am 6 ft and ordered the large and I have room for some layers under the coat which was not typical of my other OR jackets.

It is quite warm does a great job; I generally wear a L but went for the Medium here based on the recommendation that this would be slightly bigger than a regular sized one and I did n't plan on having multiple layers under it. If layering under it, then go for the regular size. It is heavier than my L Arcteryx Cerium LT, which will be my go to for packing and traveling. But overall, very pleased with what this does.

I live in New England, and I 'm traveling to `` old '' England later this year. Between our record rainfall back home and variable conditions across the pond, I needed a good raincoat. Cue* hours* of research, which landed me here. So far I 've worn this coat out in several storms for 10- 20min at a time( walking the dog) and after a quick shake off in the mudroom, it's completely dry. And so am I! Plus it's quiet, blocks wind, and the material has a nice matte finish. The colors are lovely, classy green shades that go with everything. Got a medium and there's room to layer a fairly bulky coat or sweatshirt underneath but it's not huge if I 'm just in a t- shirt. I 'm 5' 6 '', athletic 150lbs, 37- 27- 38. I 'm literally excited to camp and hike in the rain this summer now that I 'll have this coat to protect me. Now I just want OR to make a matching one for the dog.

This jacket is as functional as it fashionable. My go to jacket any time there is inclement weather. Very comfortable and size is perfect. No complaints with this jacket. Thanks for a zipper that seems like it will hold up as long as the jacket.

[ Crazy lightweight tee perfect for hot days on the trail. I now own several of these. The first two were bought in size medium but they ’ re little tight fitting so I bought a couple more in size large. I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ” 180 lbs with really broad shoulders. Only wish is that they would remove the logo from the front of the shirt to make it look less like a workout tee so I can wear it out on the town.

I bought a couple of these for running and hiking in the humid SE summer. They have performed perfectly for that purpose and are great when paired with the super comfy Astro Shorts. I also wear a couple of Patagonia Capilene Lightweight short sleeve shirts, and I would put the Echo up against the Capilene; they are very similar in terms of fit, performance and weight. The Echo comes just a tad further below my waist line than the Capilene. Fit is great. I am 5'10 '' 165 and the medium is perfect.

I ’ ve owned 2 other puffers( Patagonia and Rab). The Helium combined my favorite aspects of both jackets into one and improved on some other aspects. Only thing I can ’ t attest to is the jackets durability. I ’ ve had my Patagonia puffer for nearly 10 years, hoping this one lasts that or more! Pros:- lightweight but very warm( tested in the 20 ’s and 30F so far, expecting to see how it fairs in the negatives soon)- hand pockets are lined and warm- hood is a must have for long bouts in cold weather IMO- phone pocket on the chest fits a new pro max IPhone with a case on it- large internal open pockets, probably won ’ t use much but nice additional feature- the hood and shoulders have a water repellant material Con: My only negative is the sizing, I ’ m 6 ’ 200lbs and usually wear an XL for jackets. A large would have fit more athletically with room for another layer underneath. I live in a place it can get to- 50 or colder so having space to layer is wicked helpful, but an XL is a tough too big.

brett g
very happy with this downie. granted, I would n't try my luck in a Minnesota winter with this and a tee shirt, but for simple, functional northwest cold, this jacket is perfect. the fit is great, roominess enough but not too much, and the sizing is dead on( I 'm 5' 10 '' and 180, bought a large). good coat for the casual wearer and will last well on hikes, but the more serious outdoorsman may prefer a bit more durability.

I 've only had this jacket for a couple of days, but I am already very impressed. It's very warm, the zips are all high quality, the pockets are sooo soft and nice to put my hands in. I love how the neck comes right up to my chin so even if I do n't have the hood on, I can zip the neck right up and I feel like I am wearing a scarf. Very happy with the styling too. It has a lot of really nice features and attention to detail. Great jacket for the price.

The Freewheel Short Sleeve Jersey is more like a daily driver shirt over a traditional jersey. You can wear it daily for day to day tasks then hit the trail after work. The material is similar to other Outdoor Research shirts in the 2024 clothing catalog. I took the shirt for weekly rides on local trail heads in MD in spring and on the Santos Trails in FL on a work trip. The stretch is nice when you catch a sticker bush and length is nice if you have a long torso. The only con in my opinion is that a bring color would be nice for hunting seasons. I currently have the blue shirt and it looks good.

Bought this jersey at the Sea Otter Classic Expo, and wore it on the mountain bike tour. Loved the extra length in the back and the way the seam design at the shoulders and the stretch fabric gave me freedom of movement on the bike all day. I went with the blue color but want to grab the green one too.

I practically live in these shorts during the warm months! The material is comfortable, the colors are fun, and they don ’ t restrict my movement. I have an athletic build and often struggle to find casual shorts that don ’ t feel too tight on my thighs — but that ’s not an issue with these. I wear them for everything — gardening, running, biking, hiking, and more.

I love these shorts. The fit is a bit more relaxed which is good for people like me with athletic thighs. Great for hiking, water sports and every day wear. People complained about the long belt, but I think that is just the style these days! I am going to buy again in another color!

I loved those shorts. The only thing is that I ordered medium while it was ok on my climb it as a it too big for my waist so I just had to tighten it to its max but I ’ m getting the size small for sure!

I have worn these almost nonstop this summer, for just about everying- travel, hiking, paddling, backyard BBQs, pick up soccer games, etc. I found myself reaching for them over and over because they have the comfort and breathability of running shorts with the functionality and versatility of hiking shorts. I like the longer 5 '' inseam. Pockets are generous and with a zip pocket on the back for things you want to secure.

These are the most versatile winter pants I 've ever owned. The combination of breathable and fleecy warm fabric makes them wearable while traveling and perfect for most any winter adventure when you arrive. I 've worn them cross country skiing, snowshoeing, winter hiking, kayaking, and on the plane home. Layer on rain pants and and you' r good for almost any winter conditions. I also love them for camping, I thrown them on in chilly evenings by the campfire. The short version of these parts are fit me perfectly, the combination of fabrics are comfortable, and the cut is flattering and functional.

I use these pants when hiking and camping in cold/damp weather. The fleece liner feels so comfy against the legs, and the outer shell is durable. These pants are extremely flattering, but I am not a curvy girl... I 'm more straight- shaped. I could see why a curvy figure would have some issues with the waistband. I am in the outdoors all the time for work, and these are a go- to pair for me in the colder and shoulder months. I will be buying more.
5
Rachel C.
I previously bought OR's Methow legging and loved them too, but these pants are even better. They are nice and stretchy, just like the Ferossi pants, but with fleece lining to keep you warm when cold weather hiking. I love the fit-- they have a slightly high waist, which was not obvious to me from the pictures, and I like that so much better than the low rise I find on most hiking pants. Another reviewer complained about the fit, but for me, a more curvy gal, the fit was perfect. I also love the side pockets, including one zippered one. They stretch a bit when wearing them so if you are between sizes, considered the lower size. I will definitely be ordering another pair and wearing these throughout the winter.
$129.00
Doubles as a running and casual jacket better than the Houdinis due to a more forgiving fit around the mid- section( for looser- fitting street clothes), shorter length( more flattering for my short stature), and zippered side

LouDogg
I 'm so happy with this windbreaker! It's super lightweight but really does cut down on the wind. The fit is very flattering. And more importantly, it has hand pockets! That may not seem like a big deal, but I 've been disappointed with numerous other lightweight windbreakers on the market that do n't have hand pockets. The pockets are zippered too. This will be a versatile jacket to throw in my bag for spring, summer, and fall. I can see myself using it for hiking, biking, and around town.

Andrew P
As always OR makes the best gear. The fit is awesome and looks great. Be aware it is a very light jacket, lighter than I was expecting. But a perfect running jacket, or for a thin layer on a hike
5
ItsJ253
This ultra light weight jacket does it all! I use it for early morning summer/fall commutes, runs, field work, and sun protection even in hot weather. Surprisingly warm and wind resistant for the super thin fabric, almost paper weight, yet breathable. The easiest layer to throw in a purse or bag. I had doubts when I received it but it ’s exceeded any expectations. Two thumbs up!

Was looking for a high- visibility running jacket similar to the Patagonia Houdini Air( wind resistance+ breathability). I have both the regular Houdini( size L) and Houdini Air( M). Keeping this in M. FIT: I 'm 5' 1, 150 lbs, 34DD, round belly. With a Smartwool 250 baselayer or a thin long- sleeved cotton t, fit is close to the body, but not tight( Houdinis run much slimmer); pretty forgiving of my belly:) Perfect length for me, falling around mid- hip; Houdinis are longer, falling below my butt. FEEL/FUNCTION: I 've worn this for multiple runs( incl. light rain, strong wind). This feels somewhere in- between the Houdinis in terms of wind- blocking and breathability. V. light rain beaded on the surface of the jacket, but left a mark when smushed into the fabric. Material is a matte, slightly stretchy, more fabric- y( vs. plastic- y) material- like a slightly thicker/heavier Air. Hood fits over thick pony- tail securely when fully zipped, and stays in strong wind. Doubles as a running and casual jacket better than the Houdinis due to a more forgiving fit around the mid- section( for looser- fitting street clothes), shorter length( more flattering for my short stature), and zippered side pockets. Packs down small enough for an upcoming 2. 5 week trip to Europe( 24L bag). COLOR: Azalea appears neon coral in the pictures, which is what originally attracted me. Unfortunately, it actually is not neon at all, and is more like a salmon pink that leans more pink than orange. It is slightly see- through. LOVE the green( Grove) colorway- something about the color+ matte fabric texture+ matching zippers makes it look SO smooth and rich and clean. Did not intend to get this color, but decided to try( and keep!) it based on the( accurate) pictures.

So far I have only used this jacket for spring( alpine) skiing, at which it has been amazing! With temperatures in the low to mid 40s at the top this jacket, along with OR Trailbreaker pants and Gripper gloves, was warm enough, with just enough wind protection for riding the lifts and skiing fast, but breathable enough to prevent me from get sweaty and catching a chill. With temps below that I threw on an ultra- light softshell and was plenty warm.( Note that 1. I run warm when working hard and 2. I wear a hydration pack while skiing, without which it is possible my back would 've been chilly sitting on the lift) And it fits( size S, I am 5' 6 '' 145lbs) perfectly and looks great even just around town. So far one of my favorite items by OR( and I 've got quite a few of them) Looking forward to using this for snowshoeing, cool weather hiking etc.!

This thing rocks. Originally, I purchased this to do winter trail runs in, but have since used it to paddle, ice climb, mountain bike, backpack, and travel. I have found the Deviator to be one of the best if not the best light, active piece for me when it is chilly outside. The front/hood fabric has a good DWR and sheds light wind/rain well, while keeping just the right amount of heat in. I have found that it needs to be under 25F while running to keep myself from sweating, but with the other activities, I find it to be very comfortable in the 30- 45F range( when I am moving), even if it is windy. The zippers are a little fragile, BUT it is meant to be a lightweight piece. I have found that being patient with and keeping the zippers clean and waxed go a long way. I am a Medium/Large and bought a medium, which worked for me well. Overall, I love this piece. While it is not a replacement for a puffy, It retains way more heat than I expected for such a light jacket, especially when moving.

Man, this hoodie slaps. I primarily use it for days when it's cold but I need to get my miles in whether that be running trails/roads, snow shoeing or whatever else I do in the winter. The back is covered in what seems like waffle insulation which breaths super well so when I get hot, the excess heat has a place to go. It wicks sweat and keeps me feeling dry. The front has wind resistant panels that keeps warmth where it should be, and keeps wind out. It definitely fits snug in the arms so layering with a long sleeve base was a bit challenging considering how snug they are, but they are not too tight. I actually feel like the sleeves had a 1- 2 use break in time because now they seem more roomy and it's no longer a struggle to get a long sleeve skin tight layer on underneath. That's my experience, but not really a bad thing considering that putting on another layer over the deviator is that much easier. Please do not buy this piece expecting to hang out in 15 degree weather and to be toasty. This is an active layer that will absolutely keep you warm while you 're on the move. I use it for its intended use, and it produces a 5 star experience.
5
HVtoADK
I absolutely love this hoodie and have ordered more in other colors. I hesitated at first due to the high cost, but this is worth it. The design keeps the wind out but lets your back and arm pit breath while running or wearing a pack. The fit is intentionally slim- fit, as the product can keep you warm that way. Paired with a base layer this keeps me warm in temperatures just below freezing while running or hiking. If it gets cold, I just throw a soft shell over this and it's perfect. I highly recommend this.

[ I 'm 5' 7 '' and about 170lbs. I bought a large to put multiple layers under for alpine use and the size was just about right. A little snug down around the hip area, but okay. I liked the jacket so much that I decided to buy a medium for `` around the town '' use, but the medium was so tight at the hips that it would n't drop all the way down. Had to return it. Fits much tighter than the Interstellar. Otherwise, great shell.

[ Fit is superb. Comfort and breathability is awesome. Never a drop of water incursion. However: on the coldest of days, the gustiest winds sneak through. Fabric has seen some ski tumbles with no hint of damage. I think of this as my soft hardshell. So I wouldn ’ t describe it as “ bombproof ”, but it ’s a go- to for anything short of truly severe weather.

I am a curvy size 6. I was worried about the waist being tight as per other reviews. It's not. Follow the size guide and they 'll fit. They fit wonderfully, I 'm super happy with them. They 're higher in the back so no crack- show when I 'm squatting down or anything. Great material, lots of stretch, perfect waist. No negatives.

I am so happy with my new OR Essential Fleece Hoodie! The key reasons being fit, length, and material. This is the perfect layering hoodie that provides a light fleece for warmth and softness, but with zero bulk involved. The length does not feel overly cropped and gives enough coverage to still feel cute but keep you warm!

[ These pants are perfect for lounging or activities. They stretch and are a medium- light material. I am 6 ’- 1 ” and the medium fit well, although I ’ d take a few more inches in length if they offered that option.

My new favorite pants. Comfortable- fabric and fit, durable, and humbly fashionable. Worn while working in my home office, on a hike in the forest, after a workout/swim, to the museum, to the shops with my family. No more searching for the perfect pants.

I found myself wearing sweat pants all the time because... you know, it works and feels good but I do n't want to look like a guy that wears sweat pants all the time. Now I got these pants and not only am I comfortable, but I also am able to keep it classy:) This pants are great for an expert at comfort. I feel like I could even wear these to work. I advise you combine it with a nice top.

I love the casual look and feel mixed with the tech performance. I 'm someone who often goes from a meeting to outside play and these fit the bill perfectly. The drawstring waist is super comfy and eliminates the need for belt, which I hate having to use on tech pants.
