This is a great waterproof, wind blocking rain coat. I have already worn it quite a few times. Strong Velcro too. Pros: I ’ m 5 ’ 125- 130 lb. It is not too long on me. Which is a problem when you are short. Sits just below the hips. Velcro on the sleeves cuffs is a plus because the arms are a little long& it keeps the wind out. I am so happy I got this coat for the torrential rains that are happening in California right now. I usually wear a medium... sized up to a large and I am glad I did. The sleeves are long enough to hide my cold hands and I 'm able to wear layers underneath for warmth. It still looks good. My L covers my butt( 5' 6 '', 34DD, short arms, 145 lbs.) Love the visor to shield my glasses. This will be comfy to wear in summer storms, too... the pit zips are handy, 2 outside large zippered pockets. The coat is not heavy but it is substantial.

I bought this for a trip into the rainforest, and wore it on a boat trip that took us underneath the Iguazu falls in Brazil where we got I can ’ t even count how many gallons of water dumped on us at once, and it not only kept me dry but my phone too in the pocket. This thing is awesome! I was debating between this and the heavier version by Sea to Summit, but I 'm glad I got this version as it is incredibly tiny when in it's sack and lightweight. Definitely worth the extra cost! It takes the place of a backpack cover, rain jacket, tarp, and( potentially) rain pants in your pack, while being smaller and lighter than any of those items by themselves! The stuff sack is small( which can be a positive when considering the amount of room you save in your pack) however I was, with some effort, able to get it back in effectively after removing it for use. I am excited to continue to put this thing to the test here in the PNW where rains are, at times, incessant. I do find myself wondering if further enhancement of design could enable better protection from rain for the arms, however I understand that this is a tarp/ poncho combo, so it would be a challenge that would likely drive up price a bit as well and would add material in random places when being used as a tarp. Thanks for the awesome product Sea to Summit!

[ The construction and material are really good- matte color as promised, does n't seem to wet out, and feels durable so far. Seam tape is a bit flashy- I would have probably preferred black, matte seam tape as well ideally. No DWR is a huge positive( both in terms of chemical use, and in terms of maintenance since no need to reapply). I 'd love to see the outer material in high performance footwear for the same benefits and performance. The only issue for me is that even the small fit is a bit baggy on its own- perhaps when layering in cold weather the fit will work better. While this jacket is n't marketed as packable, it packs well into a reasonable size for its construction.

[ I like to hike in the rain. For the past 25 years I 've lived on the Pacific Northwest coast and had plenty of opportunity to do so. I can say with certainty there is no other breathable rain jacket that will keep you as dry as one made with Columbia's Outdry. All other jackets suffer from the same problem. Eventually the outer fabric will wet out and water will wick in through the hood and cuffs leaving you wet and uncomfortable. Not so with Outdry. This stuff is amazing. I also like the impermeable look, taped outside seams and all. It makes a statement you are serious about the time you spend outdoors and it delivers. Although the jacket runs large, Columbia's sizing tool did put me into the right size for my frame.

[ Live in the PNW and have gone through a handful of rain jackets from cheap to expensive and new until worn out. This is my first with a solid barrier versus various coatings( probably toxix PFAS). Can not say this jacket doesn ’ t have them, but it seems much more robust and the slighly soft inside is a big improvement over the sticky plastic laters of past jackets. Time will tell. But so far excellent performance, good fit and seems like it will last a bit longer than average.

I purchased two of these, one for myself and one for my wife, for a jet boat trip out of Grants Pass Oregon. These jackets are very light weight and completely waterproof, yet breathable. The jackets performed perfectly with no leaks. They were not `` too warm '' in mild weather, and if purchased with layering in mind, are the perfect windproof, water proof shell jacket. The hood rolls away to be packed in the collar if not needed. They worked so well, the guide wanted to know what they were and where we got them. After the trip, my wife's jacket ended up in my hunting pack for emergencies. For$ 34. 99, they were a great price for a great product.

I prefer light colors for visibility in stormy conditions, so I got the white/tan one. The internal drawstring at the waist is flattering. The hood WILL NOT blow down in wind. I 'm an avid hiker in Colorado. I never go on a hike without this jacket. It's lightweight and super easy to pack. It keeps me completely dry on the trail and works great as a windbreaker as well. I ’ ve had two of these now over the last 5- 6 years. I do a lot of saltwater fishing on the Northern California coast and this involves actively wading up to my waste in saltwater sometimes. This jacket combined with my waders keeps me dry very well. The first one I had the zipper failed on it after about 4 seasons of heavy use in saltwater so I can ’ t fault the product for that since just about anything will fail in saltwater. I bought a new one and am back out there staying dry and warm. These are really light too, I can see them as a budget backpacking rain shell option as well. I use mine for backpacking also but by ultralight backpacker standards this is not an ultralight jacket. That said it will keep you dry and it is a great wind breaker too. Can ’ t beat the value.

It is beautiful in person and it gives both fashionable and functional. I love the buttons on this coat and the bungee inside gives you more of a fitted look. In the past, I ’ ve had the option of my rain jacket ruining my outfit, or opting for no rain jacket, but having the rain ruin my outfit…. NOW neither are a problem, as this jacket actually makes my outfits even cuter!! Fits comfortably true to size, but size up if you want it to be longer. For reference, I am 5 ’ 3, and the medium fits cutely oversized, and even the large works. The XS definitely fits, but was a little short for my liking.

I love this! I ’ ve been looking for a raincoat I can wear both on my hikes and when I ’ m walking to my office job. So happy I found one that is cute enough to not ruin my office outfits, but functional enough to keep me dry outside! I really love how it has a similar scrunch bottom so you can adjust the length to have it long how it is in the product pictures or make it shorter/ more cropped depending on how you want to wear it! Got it in the beige color and feel like it ’s the perfect neutral for fall!

This rain jacket is super impressive. When it comes to traveling, camping, hiking, or even exploring new cities, countries, etc. You ca n't beat the portability of this jacket. It is super thin and light making it easy to roll up and store into any type of bag weather it's a backpack, purse, or even large fanny pack. Even for being so light and thin, it easily stops water from getting through. I 've had zero issues with any type of moisture getting inside either due to prolonged periods of water exposure or leaks through any seals and stitching. I will say, because it's so thin, in colder weather, you would need a warmer layer underneath to act as insulation. That being said, you might need to get one size up than normal so it can fit over any layers you need. Also, if you are traveling through any thick brush or scraping up against rocks, you need to be careful about scraping or snagging any sharp/rough surfaces too hard to prevent any micro/macro tears in the material. Being so thin, it's not super durable, but it's not very easily torn either. Overall fantastic product and highly recommend

This is a super light, rain shedding jacket. Is it 100% water proof? No, but no rain jacket is. It ’s breathable, and with proper mid layer moister management, you can hike all day in the rain and be as dry as you would be in any other rain jacket. Pairs great with alpha direct layer underneath.

This is a simple, very lightweight windbreaker, that packs into its pocket. It's somewhat water resistant, and dries quickly, but not waterproof. It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. It weighs almost nothing and when it's in it's pocket turned carry pouch, it's about the size of a 3 x 5 card and about an 1 '' thick. It even fits in a purse, a fanny pack, and many hydration packs. I always have one on my boats, whether sailing or rowing/kayaking and have been glad to have it hold in my body heat on a chilly airplane, or as a paper thin layer for skiing, both downhill and crosscountry. Worn as a mid- layer it makes a fleece slip on effortlessly. One of the most versatile pieces I own. I have both hooded jacket, and a no longer available pullover.

Bought this for cycling in the light rain. Nice fit and weight. I 'm 6' 3 '' and 200 lbs. and a large is a nice slim fit. Packs down small and is easy to stow. Not 100% waterproof, but kept me mostly dry on a 3 hour downpour bike ride. If you 're on the husky side, you might size up to an XL.
