I also love the extra- wide brim, which easily keeps my entire head and neck in the shade during the brightest hours of the day. [ I was in the market for a serious summer sun hat instead of the cheap ones available at all of the big box stores. After much research I decided on Sunday Afternoons Ultra Adventure Hat. I received it and I 'm lovin' it! The first thing I noticed was the air I could feel circulating on the top of my bald head. Having vents on your hat are important, however, they usually allow burning sun rays to filter through. Usually I have to decide between being sunburned without a hat or hot with a hat. The Ultra Adventure hat has happily made that decision for me with its ultraviolet protection factor of 50+, including the mesh panels. No more polka dot sunburned head! Also, its so light weight you can forget you have it on. It is really the lightest hat I have owned. Its hard to believe it can do its job and be so light on your head. The downward sloping 3 ¼ ” brim shades my entire face and the cape keeps the sun off my neck, which is another great design feature. This hat gives protection to head, face, neck and ears without being obtrusive. Other features include a sunglass lock that holds your glasses in place. It works too. I have tried to shake my head to dislodge them and they stay put. Also, if taking a hat in a back pack is an issue for you, this hat folds in half at the brim and can be kept in your pocket. Without a doubt, this is the best hat on the market and worth every penny. I urge people to give this hat a try if you are shopping for the best hat out there. I wear one for work where my hat has a mountain ridge line of sweat going across it. It has n't warped and the elastic bands still fit snug to my head without the usual looseness that happens after hats get wet or are worn too much in activities that have excessive movements involved. It's also held up after being doused in rain storms. I do n't collect hats or consider them fashion statements and use them for their intended function of providing some shade from the sun and also doubling as a sweat band. The fit is also great.
