I like cinching the ankles because I like the sporty look I get. It's brilliant how they have been able to design a way to keep the cinching elastic out of the way, whether it is loose or not. These are the most perfect pants I 've worn in over 20 years. They actually fit correctly and are properly high waisted, and as such can easily be dressed up; but are also entirely functional for work. All the while they are still wide enough to accommodate truly muscular thighs, they have a clean cut through the leg that you can even fit a pair of half chaps on top of them to ride in them! Furthermore, I expect them to break in fantastically as they 're a study weave of 100% cotton. I am so happy I snagged the last pair in a size that would accommodate my hips, but I regret not being able to semi- stockpile these! They are fantastic, and particularly left- hand friendly. The waist band allows some gap to accommodate natural movement but, I have it pinched in with a stretchy belt, as can be seen in my photos. However, the belt is not needed so long as the pants fit your hips. I could go on? I want more of these, and others `` like '' them.

I purchased these pants in both the zip- off and non- zip- off models for an extended trip to southeast Asia. Three countries and 30 days later these pants, like the others I have purchased over the years from Columbia have been impressive. They wear like steel surviving daily wearing where I sat, hiked, climbed in and out of long boats, tuk- tuks, taxis, busses, through remote villages, along muddy tracks, and repeated washing in sinks and the occasional clothes washers. The hot humid climate created a thermal challenge but wearing shorts was not an option given all manner of biting insects that carry a variety of nasty diseases. These pants are super lightweight and fast drying. Most stains came out in the wash and those that did n't, probably would n't come out of any fabric.

Really stretchy, great fit( I 'm 6' 2, 214, and I got 38/34), great side pocket which even fits a phone, water repellency after two washes, extremely strain resistant( I got grease on my tan pants which washed right off), and rugged enough for hikes through brush. Could n't be happier- except for maybe a nice gray or mud brown color.

[ I received the Columbia Men's ROC Tech Chino Pants free from Influenster in exchange for my honest opinion. I got them in black and they are a very good quality pant. They are versatile in that they can be worn for business or casual. The fabric is lightweight and breathable and almost feels like they are water resistant. You do need to remove from the dryer and hang up quickly as they wrinkle easily. Very comfortable fit and feel like a pair of dressy khakis. Great for work as they are very comfortable but also great for a more formal event as they can also look dressy if paired with other garments. They are a win, win in appearance and you ca n't beat the fit as they are super soft and comfortable. You can move easily in them and they do n't feel stiff like jeans.

I love these hiking trousers!! I live in the Midwest and I did not know how they would hold up in our really cold winters. They are great in the snow and wet cold. I add a layer underneath for warmth and the trousers do the rest. I tend to be hard on jeans and cargo pants but these are just as rugged and really lightweight. In addition to hiking, I do a lot of outdoor shooting and needless to say these do just fine for a day at the range. They arrived extra long, but I understand why, I washed them twice and then took them to get altered and it has been great ever since. What an amazing product!!

This was my second item I ever got from this company and I love them! Like the Sten jacket it's a sleek design and definitely got compliments from these pants. As for water repellence, Like the sten, it's worth having Greenland wax to put a few coats for before your adventures to add more resistance. They were slightly lose, but with a belt will be fine. Very comfortable to wear. The straight leg looks good with athletic shoes. Definitely going to look into other pairs of their pants.
