These poles are beefy and ideally suited for use with my Noah's Tarp.

5 Raoul
Purchased these poles to use with Thru- Hiker 100 Wing as a free standing structure as secondary protection for tent. Worked beautifully to keep us dry in a deluge with wind. Nothing like packing up a dry tent.

5 Davide
I was looking around for a decent pole to use for pitching up the tarp when no trees are around. As I do n't use trekking poles it had to be light and compact. Have to say that the MSR one met all my expectations. I 'm probably going to buy another one.

5 Grizz
I bought the Talus TR- 3 Hiking Poles for the Rim to Rim hike. These Poles are nice, I like the easy adjustability, light weight and sturdy construction. They are also very comfortable in my hands throughout the hiking, both up hill and down hill. Super happy great hiking poles.

Great addition to the MSR Wing I bought for our rafting trip, nice added height and definitely sturdy.

Cheap flagpole, but great value. Ca n't find another 20' pole for this price. I bought one of these a couple years ago for music festivals and camping. Worked good enough for 2 years, sometimes the sections get sticky but I always got them free. The plastic rings do nothing, it just seems to mess up with you `` loosen '' the sections too much. You have to `` tighten '' them with some muscle otherwise I rarely have a section collapse. It's not hard, but a child could n't do it tight enough. At full extension with a flag, I feel like this is good for maybe 20mph wind tops. I 've had TWO 3x5' flags going on a breezy day at a music festival, and this stayed up straight. I figured screw it, threw this in my truck bed at ~8' high, put a flag on it, lets see how strong it is. The top bent in half somewhere between 30- 40mph lol. Bought another one because it still works perfect while stationary. So yes this has very thin aluminum walls and it can snap, but just be smart with it and you ca n't beat the price

My favorite portable wind sock pole for paramotoring.

5 Demetrius V.
We just got back from a week long trip to Sturgis, SD. We used this flagpole with the hitch flag pole mount for the truck. It ’s the perfect height and we could see it from really far away which made it easy to find our camper at night in the campground. There were a couple of days where the weather was super windy and we never felt like we needed to take it down, it is really sturdy. It collapses nicely and is short enough to easily store in the trailer or transport in a car truck of average size.

5 Chanda K.
My husband bought it to display 3 flags at the beach. It worked really well. A little slippery with the humid air but be was really impressed!

5 Eugenia X.
I was a little worried that this pole would be flimsy, but just returned from a 5 day camping trip and it surpassed my expectations. Flew two 3x5 flags in up to moderate breezes( 15mph) at full 20 foot extension with no problems, and the pole did not bend or flex nearly as much as I expected. The locking mechanisms worked well, as did the clips to hold the flags. I mounted it on a trailer hitch flagpole mount, and worked brilliantly!

[ I 've used this pole to hike Baden Powell, San Gorgonio, and San Jacinto peaks. So far so good. It does what I expect it to. Easy to use. I have n't used other poles before so I do n't know how this compares to others, but I 'm happy with it and hope to keep using it for a while. The only downside is that at its shortest length, it's not small enough to fit in my pack( versus a foldable pole) but that's not an issue for me since I can still attach it to the outside of my pack.

[ I 'm not into trail running or so. I just need a trekking pole for hiking and to set up a tent. This trekking pole is just the right one for me.

I bought these pole for me and my 5- year- old grand daughter because of their adjustability. I use them on trips, and is she's along, I collapse them down to her size in some situation when she wants to use them( and feel like she's part of the group!). They are very durable as well!

5 Chad B.

These poles are great value for what I need. I wasn ’ t looking for the lightest pole but something reliable and still semi light weight. I appreciate the longer extension as I am tall. And they collapse nicely to fit on my bag. I ’ ve taken them on a couple hikes so far and the tips are in good shape after some heavy use in rocky terrain.

I went with the Kelty brand because I like their tents. I used these poles once so far hiking with my dogs. The poles have comfortable handles and are easy to adjust. The non- slip carbide tips were great for hiking in wet conditions with lots of leaves.

5 Rodney
[ Not the lightest, but very sturdy and great quality for the price. I am 250 lbs and these have held up for multiple high country hunts. I lost a stick hunting and liked them so much I bought a second pair.

5 Kaylie
[ These poles are great for a budget option! They ’ re sturdy, durable, adjustable, and come with all the necessary tips and attachments. They ’ re fairly lightweight and easy to adjust. Sometimes the locking mechanism for adjusting the wrist strap slips out, but it hasn ’ t been a big issue.

4 Cheerful04
[ I am very happy with my purchase. It was just what I was looking for and the price was perfect. These have really come in handy when hiking steep terrain.

[ Used them on my most recent snow shoe activity, very easy to figure out amd extend to a comfortable height. Unfortunately lost one of the tip pieces on that first use, but should be easy enough to replace.

Recently used trail trekking poles at three western state national parks under various conditions, such as crossing rivers, climbing over rocks, climbing steep terrain, etc. The trail trekking poles performed under every condition and functioned as a hiking performance tool. I 'm looking forward to using these trail trekking poles on many more hiking trips.

5 Don J.
My wife has yet to use them due to foot surgery, but my kids loved them when they borrowed them.

5 Jeff S.
I purchased tips to go on my new Black Diamond treking poles. I have been hiking with my family and the Boy Scouts for many years. With my next adventure heading to Philmont I chose to purchase trekking poles and tips to support me as I climb up Mt. Baldy. In trying hikes at Mohican they were useful to keep me upright in some slippery spots, but they really proved their use at Shawnee State Park. Climbing the elevation and not having poles with these tips would have been impossible. In my opinion looking at others gear Black Diamond treking pole tips gave me more grip and stability to be able to finish the 2, 000 foot elevation change, 2 day, 25 mile backpacking trip.

I love how light and compact these are compared to other poles on the market. I was cheap and went with aluminum to save a little bit of cash, because I did n't think the 1oz. weight saving was worth the bump in price for the carbon ones( at least not for me). They perform well, and my knees seem to be way less achey, which was the main reason why I purchased these. I do wish that the poles came with a snow basket included.

5 Dolores R.

I ’ ve been using the BD z- poles since my AT thru- hike in 2013. My original pair finally broke, after 9 years of heavy use. I love how small they pack down and how strong but lightweight they are. I just got my new pair( the Distance FLZ) and they are fantastic! I love the adjustable top pole and that it still has all the features I loved about my first set of z- poles. I ’ ll never use anything else, honestly. These are reliable, sturdy and light. 10/10 y ’ all.

5 David D.
Not only are these poles exactly what I need on the trails( solid construction, sleek engineering and lightweight), but backed by a company that cares. I 've had a few customer service interactions, but none as simple and understanding as Black Diamond. Way to set the bar on owning your product.
