So stoked these exist... I realized this is exactly what I needed: small, light storage for odds and ends that pack down small and light, but ALSO each of them can be used as a day sling WHAT!? So great-- looking forward to taking all 3 with me and having options for a trip down to the pool to around town, or on a trail. Also these can be strapped to your bag( I have the 45L travel pack) for quick access so it's a no- brainer for me to get these.

I bought these for a backpacking trip and they were so useful I ’ ve began using them daily already. Each size has its own use and I ’ m surprised at the ease of access and sturdiness of zippers and fabric.

I 've bought 3 black ultralight packing cubes. Sizes: Small| XS| XXS. They are indeed featherlight, since they weigh in at 43 g| 27 g| 20 g. The bags are not see- through which is great for taking it out. i will use them for packing and hiking. For my fellow Eastern European buddies, the small bag will fit a full adidas tracksuit and a book. For all other people this means it will fit two average size shoes( mine are 43 EU, still fits) Very easy and simple design, yet sturdy. overall happy.

I bought three of these in XXS and XS sizes. I planned to use them for cords, meds, and other small misc items when traveling. I ’ ve found myself reaching for these bags for every day use also. Great to put some small gear and toss in the daypack when out photo- hiking. Also makes a good wet sack for my bathing suit. I can think of so many uses for these bags. They are well made and roll up very small when not in use. Great that they can clip to a belt loop or another bag, or be used with a strap.

This bag is great and a level up from a duffle bag I ’ ve been using for years from another brand. I love all the pockets and how everything stays organized. My friend has the same style bag but the smaller version, we both have experienced a hitch on the zipper on the top right side of the bag. It must be close to where some strong seams come together on the inside of the bag, it makes it difficult to open/close in that one spot every time- even if the pack isn ’ t super full. That is my only complaint, and it ’s just a small design flaw, otherwise a great bag.

Excellent travel backpack for a weekend or as a supplemental bag to a roller. Comfortable when wearing and super useful holding straps for when held to the side or on other bag. The pocket configuration is great and there is no wasted space. This is a great pack, very light and versatile. Comes with a nice rain cover that packs easily into the front pocket. The gray color is very cool and keeps the contents of the pack cool on hot sunny trails. I really liked the main front zipper to access what I needed quickly from the pack.

This is such a cool camping/hiking backpack, it has more pockets than I 'd know what to do with. There is a little pocket at the bottom that holds a waterproof cover. It can be easily folded back up to fit inside. There are sturdy metal rods, with a heavy duty mesh piece on the back. It will definitely hold up when hiking. I like that the main compartment can unzip to fit a sleeping bag or other bulky items. I have n't used it yet for hiking but it will be great for our next camping trip!

This bag is a great size and style. It seems to be good quality. Has multiple storage places. The padding on the belt makes it comfortable to wear. Will for sure fit all your hiking/exploring necessities.
5
Linda L
The bag is adequately sized for all hikes and most short camping trips. Despite its relatively small size, it boasts a number of impressive features. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

[ We just got hit pretty much back- to- back by Helene and Milton, and this made a great go- bag to evacuate from the hurricanes! It ’s very well built and easy to carry, there ’s plenty of room for evacuation essentials, and all of my stuff stayed dry! All sorts of camping and survival supplies are very popular here in hurricane country — even though I don ’ t know of a single person who actually voluntarily goes camping around here! The only thing I wish I could change about the bag is the color! I really wanted a hot pink, or at least a bright neon orange or yellow! Still, the red and yellow is considerably more visible than the basic black. I received the correct item, in good condition, in a decent amount of time. The packaging was frankly ridiculous, though! It ’s very flat and took up minimal room, even without rolling it up – so there was no reason to send it in a massive cardboard box the size of a golf bag, for goodness sakes!
5
Curt C.
[ I ’ ve taken it on one back country trip and a few other over nighters, and have found the pack to be great. I like the white interior for finding gear and the quality of the bag seems durable overall. The straps themselves aren ’ t the most comfortable when your bag gets heavier but for my portages I ’ m never wearing the pack for much more than an hour between paddles. I would personally prefer a bit of extra bulk and weight if that was the compromise to have a slightly more padded shoulder.

[ As an avid canoeist I ’ m always looking for tough but lightweight gear for canoe tripping. Over the last few years my gear closet has transitioned almost entirely to Sea to Summit gear. [ I have been using Granite Gear cordura compression sacks for many years but took a chance on the Sea To Summit compression sacks. To my surprise, they were not only equally rugged enough to meet the rigor of my motorcycle travel, they were also lighter and more water resistant. Quality product for sure!

[ When I first bought it, I thought there was no way my massive sleeping bag could fit inside. I was wrong. Stuffs perfectly in and fast, too. Feels durable and I ’ ve had no complaints so far. It also compresses down smaller than other similar sacks I ’ ve tried. 10/10!

[ This is n't my first Sea to Summit compression sack. They are durable and well- made and just do n't seem to tear or fail. You can really pack a sleeping bag into it. And even though it's not water proof, it does seem to repel water.

Telos tent, Spark 3 sleeping bag, collapsible pots, big river dry backpack, stuff sacks and compression bags and I have been completely satisfied with each and every item. Great job Sea to Summit!

[ These are perfect for foraging. They pack down small for when they are not in use. I carry them all so I can keep different items separate. The mesh allows spores to escape, which is nice for future foraging. There is a carrying strap on the bottom, and the top ties snuggly so nothing falls out. This is my second set, as I loved them so much I bought more.

Made extremely well. Loved the hard bottom of this considering I mostly fish kayak and canoe, keeps things dry. Looked forever for what this thing will hold with no info on storage capacity. Pulled the trigger and was pleased with what I could fit. Main compartment holds 3 3700 size boxes, you could add a 3700 thin as well but its pretty tight. The front pouch will hold a 3600 box without much room to spare, I loaded mine with a 3600 thin terminal box and a thin 3500 box. Pouches on the side of bag will hold the small Flambeau spinner bait box. I used top pouch for plastics, holds like ten bags or so comfortably. Great bag and comfortable to carry fully loaded

This is a great pack. I am a big guy( 6 ’ 2 ”, 275) so I do wish I would have gone with the Stout 70 plus, but it is still a great pack. Sits on the back well with plenty of adjustments available. Took some time to get dialed in, but once I did, it was very comfortable.

Much more comfortable for larger guys. Looks to be of good quality. Will put it to the test with some long hikes this spring.

This is one of Gregory's basic packs, essentially a Baltoro with fewer bells and whistles. I needed a 70 liter pack for a 12 day Philmont Trek, and it survived 2 years of shakedown hikes, and 2 more years of `` regular '' weekend camping use. Works well, and great bang for the buck if you are patient and watch for sales.

Bought this pack for my husband for our upcoming first backpacking trip, because he is a big dude and the options for him were limited. As soon as he got this pack on, we were both so happy at the fit, the quality, the look, and just all the thought that went into this design. It was super nice being able to just buy a pack that actually fits, without having to worry about replacing the hip belt or shoulder pads. We have n't backpacked with it yet, but we have done some long day hikes with all our gear and it seems like a quality pack that will hold up well and we just could not be happier. Also love that it comes with a rain cover, the hip belt pockets are a very good size, and the brain is nice and roomy!

This is a great pack for a guy with wider shoulders and that 38 to 39- in waist. It obviously can go for even bigger person but this one fit perfectly and felt comfortable on my shoulders and just overall as a pack. Very excited to get this one on the trail
To ensure your backpacking gear remains in good condition, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It's also important to clean your gear before storage to prevent mold and mildew. Use breathable storage bags or containers to protect against dust and moisture, and keep items organized to easily access them when needed.
Maximizing space for backpacking gear storage can be achieved by using vertical space and organizing items by size and frequency of use. Consider using shelves, bins, or hooks to keep gear off the floor and neatly arranged. Packing items into smaller bags or containers can also help utilize space efficiently and make it easier to find what you need.
Ideal storage solutions for backpacking gear include durable shelving units, bins, and hanging organizers that can accommodate various sizes of equipment. Look for options that are waterproof or moisture-resistant to protect your gear from environmental factors. Additionally, consider using clear containers for visibility and easy access to your items.
Clothing should be stored in breathable bags to prevent moisture buildup, while cooking equipment can be stored in hard cases or bins to protect against damage. Keep similar items together, and label containers for easy identification. Ensure that all items are clean and dry before storage to maintain their quality.
When organizing backpacking gear for seasonal use, consider separating items based on the activities you plan to engage in during each season. Store off-season gear in a way that minimizes space, such as vacuum-sealing bags for clothing. Keep frequently used items easily accessible, and regularly review your gear to ensure everything is in good condition.
