Very flexible shoes. I took them to the Galapagos Islands, and they held out very well on hikes, on boats and are attractive enough to wear out to dinner. I wear these shoes to work every day and everywhere. Tough as nails and looks great even beat up. I never complain about foot pain anymore with these. The soles are so tough and the wear is minimal. The outside is suede and leather and the inside has an incredibly warm and soft fleece lining. The rubber sole gives support and traction which is a MUST here in northern New York during the winter months! I did find that this boot runs quite small. I began eyeing these boots( along with a few other pairs of Danners) when I really got into hiking this past year, but was hesitant to purchase as I 've seen a million reviews( on literally every hiking boot ever made) that talks about the break- in requirement and resulting blisters, foot pain, lost toenails and the likes. I committed to a winter hiking hut trip this past month and knew that I needed something waterproof and after window shopping( literally every boot tailored for women who love the great outdoors) kept coming back to these. After weeks of considering my options, I decided to take the plunge on these. I received my order about 10 days before the hut trip. The first day I trying them on they felt great, but the second day( when I intended to start wearing them every minute of every day to break them in pre- trip) I noticed that they felt quite roomy, despite having ordered exactly as the size chart indicated. I immediately began looking for a half size smaller and low and behold, they were sold out everywhere. Despite my immediate panic, with lack of better options I ended up committing to the size ordered paired with a thick pair of wool socks for the trip( 6. 5ish miles each way, 2kish in elevation gain on the way up). I am delighted to report that despite feeling a bit roomy when I tried them on, the wool socks made the fit perfect. The trip up proved to be the most foot- comfy hike I 've ever had! My feet stayed entirely warm, which has never happened without Hot Hands in my socks in winter hikes for me. Beyond that, the boots were completely submerged in snow due to post- holing multiple times throughout the weekend, but my feet stayed 100% dry the entire trip. These paired well with my Kahtoola microspikes and Orvis snowshoes. All in all I 'm completely impressed and can not wait to hike more in these boots. If you have gear anxiety and are on the fence about ordering these( like I was), I highly encourage you to get off the fence and order! My initial impression is that this is the best boot purchase I could 've made.

I 've worn them in snow, rain, and hail and can say they 're definitely waterproof! I work outdoors and walk tens of thousands of steps every day in every possible type of weather. I 've tried boots from several other brands/stores, and finally, after hearing me repeatedly complain about said failed footwear, my brother recommended Merrell. I 've only been wearing them for a few weeks, and while my feet have been delightfully dry( yes, they 're 100% waterproof even in standing water), I 'm wary about whether or not they will last as another brand or two also managed to keep themselves together for a few short months before disintegrating miserably and proving themselves not worth my money. So, while I 'm cautiously optimistic that my Merrells will outlast their competitors, I can confidently say that these are unequivocally the most lightweight, comfy and waterproof boot I have tried. I took this on my first trip to the western states and used them hiking in Estes State Park and Yellowstone, my legs were sore from the inclines and walking long before my feet ever where! These are my sixth pair of Sorel boots. I have three dressy pairs, two traditional winter boots, and now these. I wanted casual boots the wore like running shoes( something with heel support without a high heel). This style was perfect for it. These have kept my feet warm and dry when the temps are below zero. Super comfortable right out of the box, a little squeaky on tile and vinyl floors the first few hours I wore them but that quickly went away. Didn ’ t notice a breaking in phase like I do with other boots and the side zip makes them really easy to take on and off. Haven ’ t used them in inclement weather yet but they feel solid and I have no issue wearing them while on my feet for 8+ hours a day. The boots are breathable and with the right socks my feet don ’ t sweat like they did with other boots no matter what I did. Looking like this will be the boot I use for the rest of my career.

Well first off these are Lightweight and at the end of the day you don ’ t feel like a horse shedding a saddle. They slip off and my feet feel great. I did put my arch supports in and these boots picked up where my other Georgia boots left off. The soles of the boots grip well on many surfaces and the tops have a nice feel and not too restrictive also. I ordered a half size bigger, since I wear wool soaks for added cushion on my feet. Now the only draw back is I wish they were a little narrower by a little. These feel like they are wide instead of a standard width. Again, my wool soaks help make up for some of the looseness but it is not a deal breaker by no means. Thus far for everyday work boots for someone who is on their feet a lot on concrete, these have done really well.
