My partner and I recently bought two kayaks from Dick ’s and needed to transport them over 100 miles through several mountain passes on a windy day. On a whim, we bought this kit and we are so glad we did. In the parking lot of the Dick ’s, we were able to install the kit on the crossbars of her Subaru Outback within 30 minutes and did not need a single tool for assembly! The instructions that came with the kit were clear and taught us how to safely secure our kayaks to the car. After tightening the straps, the kayaks didn ’ t budge for the entire trek home. This is a great product that is easy to use and effective in fulfilling its purpose.

Installed these on my expedition to use with my 14 foot canoe with my Reese one man loader. They were easy to install and keeps my canoe solidly in place going freeway speeds. Instructions on how to use tie- down straps were very helpful and the whole system works great.

This was a cinch to use straight out of the box. I had to drive to the Boundary Waters at high speeds and then on some back country roads. The canoe was solidly placed with the attached belly straps. I had to use a front anchor strap of my own to keep it centered. I would be the only negative I had. Sure beats the foam pads I 've been using for the last few years. It a nice alternative to buying a Thule rack for hundreds more.

I have the Malone AirFlow towers and rails and the BigFoot Pro pads are a great accessory to get the canoe/kayak up off the vehicle roof. Quality construction. I just wish there was a way to lock them to the crossrails.

Overall, a great way to store your canoe on your vehicle's cross bars. Felt like the price was about triple for what you actually get in terms of plastic braces, 2 straps, and screws. However, it's a well- built product that should last. Have used it twice thus far for our canoe... have a good hang of it now... could probably reinstall/take- down in 10 minutes tops.

I placed this on a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with factory crossbars. These worked great for holding a 16 foot canoe. Never moved and protected the vehicle. I would give it five stars if there was a way to lock the mounts to the car( None of the other canoe carrier companies had locks either. ie thule, Yakima) It would be nice if you did not have to undo all the screws each time you removed the mount from the car, but not a big deal. I would recommend this and I would buy it again.

I use this trailer for my 12' fishing kayak. Buying American has many advantages, in particular that the build instructions are in English and easy to understand. The directions walk you through everything and the pictures are excellent shots of the steps. It took me over 4 hours to put it together, but I 'm a 54 yr/old woman!

I love my Malone Microsport trailer! It pulls nicely on windy, country roads. Very versatile. Can adjust cradle placement. After a long day of kayaking, we can easily lift our kayaks on the trailer. Solid materials make for a solid product. Best investment for avid kayakers!

[ As a fit kit, each model is design for a specific vehicle or set of vehicles. I purchased the Kit 1340 to fit my new 09 Legacy. The product does what it needs to and fits quite well.. a few unexpected gaps( since the rubber is formed specific to the roof) but nothing to worry about. I will warn anyone with the 1340 fit kit... It is designed for certain Subaru models and is highly specific because these models are vehicles that do not have framing around the windows( rather uncommon). Thule fit kits typically clamp right to the metal roof where the doors close. This kit, however, clamps to the plastic trim where the doors close( since there is no frame). Structurally a this is okay because plastic is reinforced to the vehicle frame, but I point this out because the clamping of the roof racks to the car will cause some indentation in this plastic trim where the metal plastic rests and is tightened. I noticed this only after a test fit, and have n't fully utilized the racks yet to know if it gets worse, but it's something to note if you really care about pristine appearance of this trim when you remove the racks. Otherwise, functions great and have confidence in knowing you are using a product specifically built for your car.

Canoe carriers designed for use without a roof rack offer greater versatility and convenience for transporting your canoe. They can be easily installed on various vehicle types, allowing you to carry your canoe without the need for permanent roof attachments. This makes them ideal for occasional use, as they can be set up and removed quickly.
Securing a canoe carrier without a roof rack typically involves using straps or inflatable components that can be adjusted to fit your vehicle's shape. Most carriers come with detailed instructions on how to properly attach them to your vehicle to ensure stability during transport. It's important to follow these guidelines to prevent any shifting or movement while driving.
Canoe carriers without roof racks are designed to be compatible with a wide range of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, and trucks. Their adjustable features allow them to fit various roof shapes and sizes, making them a flexible option for many drivers. Always check the manufacturer's specifications to ensure compatibility with your specific vehicle.
While canoe carriers without roof racks can be used for long-distance travel, it's essential to ensure they are securely attached and that the canoe is properly balanced. Many users find these carriers effective for short to moderate distances, but for extended trips, it's advisable to check the setup frequently and consider additional safety measures.
Canoe carriers without roof racks are often made from durable materials such as nylon, polyester, and reinforced plastic. These materials are chosen for their strength and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring that the carrier can withstand the elements during transport. Additionally, some carriers may feature inflatable components for added cushioning and support.
Many canoe carriers without roof racks are versatile enough to accommodate other types of watercraft, such as kayaks or paddleboards. However, it's important to check the specifications of the carrier to ensure it can safely support the dimensions and weight of the different watercraft you intend to transport. This flexibility makes them a practical choice for various outdoor activities.
