They are water resistant and can be easily cleaned after a muddy hike! Just make sure to wear tall socks with them.

I bought these boots along with carhartt woman's rain pants to accommodate me and help keep me dry while working on the roads in PNW. I am sad to admit I am sitting in my work truck with my boots off because my feet are soaked after 4 hours of work... my rain pants busted out the whole rear end from the poor seams. Wilco happily returned them after wearing them 1 day. My boots are definitely the most upsetting in this situation. If you plan on purchasing these boots, I would not plan on staying dry for to long. Hiking, they are amazing fit and support around ankle. I will say a few puddle stomping, you may not soak all the way through.

I bought these boots for my son. Once we got the correct size( no shoe to try on in store) they were perfect. My son recently went on a winter retreat where they spent almost the entire weekend outside, sledding, horseback riding, broom ball tournament, hiking, etc. And his feet were the warmest they have ever been at this event. [ The materials, color, and safety attributes of these boots initially appealed to me. I wear work/safety boots six days a week, 12+ hours a day. The Carhartt Ironwood boots fit exactly right, and are unexpectedly comfortable. The soles absorb shock and are comfortable all day. The insulation is just right too. My feet usually sweat in boots, but stayed very warm did not sweat in these. The only improvement I would make is to use something other than hiking boot laces. I ’ m very satisfied with them and would highly recommend.

Have worn Carhart shoes, coats and clothes for over twenty years. The shoes I buy are the 8- inch- high variety. I bought these for my retirement because the need for higher boots are not needed. Boots are very comfortable. Little to no break in time. They have a great arch support for when your standing for long hours. I have had them for a couple have held up through rain, mud, dust, dirt, snow. They are water proof. My feet we ’ re slightly damp standing in torrential down pours for my job but after what I was in I doubt any boot is that waterproof…. They are starting to wear out though. I mean I do put them through rough stuff but I don ’ t expect these to last 6 months in the toughest of conditions.

Solid boot. I work in natural gas and am outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. Snow in Idaho and rain over in Oregon and Washington They 've been great for driving, job site and walking around, and the waterproofing is top notch. I 've ridden the Harley a couple times with them in and the met guard is no good for that, protects your foot too much to have good connection with the shifter, but for work, these are great.
