So far these shoes are keeping up with my 12 year olds strength and conditioning camp and he has zero complaints. Which says a lot because he demands a lot out of his shoes in terms of comfort and ability to run at full speed. I am a size 7. 5 and generally wear an 8 in Nike sneakers( Pegasus, etc.) so that I have room in the toes in case my feet swell a little from heat or hiking, etc. I ordered the Metcon in my normal Nike size of 8 and my big toe is basically at the tip of the shoe, so I need to exchange them for an 8. 5. If I was using them for hiking or anything I thought would make my feet swell, I might even size up to a 9 which would be absolutely wild! I bought these with skepticism- Nike usually has good looking shoes, but often underdeliver with quality and functionality. These shoes get the job done. I purchased with the intention of wearing them in the weight room- no desire to run and/or jump in them. They provide excellent ankle support and a wide toe base so that you 're able to get your feet set before every lift. The firm sole provides little toe bend, which I appreciate. I would n't recommend them if you 're wanting to run, they 're heavier and on the clunky side, but think they 're well suited for a lifting or HIIT type shoe.

I have arthritis on the posterior( backside) of my right ankle. This arthritis makes it very painful for me to walk on a downhill slope because it puts more pressure on the posterior aspect of the ankle joint. I can walk uphill no problem. Shoes that have a half inch heel hurt me as well because they caused my heel to be lifted compared to my front foot. In essence it ’s causing me to put more pressure on the post to your side of my ankle joint. I was looking for shoes that had no extra heel lift yet still had good arch support and I tried several brands and then I came across these Meryll shoes which had no heel lift in the heel. I was able to walk quite comfortably with good art support. And the grip from the tread on the bottom of the shoe is amazing. My first pair lasted me about two years and I just ordered and received my second pair. I ’ m very pleased with them. My orthopedic surgeon tells me that I ’ ll soon have total ankle replacement surgery. Then I maybe can get back into regular shoes. But these Merrills are really comfortable. I may stay with them. I love them and if you have problems walking in shoes with a little bit of a heel these will really help

The shoe itself is lightweight and crafted really well. The sole of the shoe is amazing compared to shoes with tpu tanks. I love the feel when jogging how you can feel the comfort in each stride
