Not being a stranger to On Cloud shoes, I bought these from the sale table( my size is hardly ever on a sale table at Dicks!). They fit perfect, color was not my first choice but could not resist the price. Like my other On Clouds, they are perfect fit, but you do run 1/2 size too small. They are very light, fit like slippers and walk and run very well as they cushion your feet. Like other On Clouds, be careful not to scrape or use them for harsh conditions as they will tear or a hole can happen. They are meant for light to medium wearing conditions and do very well at that.

I have the altra gators and( not just this shoe but others) the laces do n't go far enough towards to toes so you ca n't use the lace hook on the gator. What a beautiful shoe! I was very excited to give this one a opportunity as ince i needed a shoe for runnable trails along with dirt/gravel paths. Sizing for me was absolutely perfect, I ordered 10. 5 as always and hold and toe box spacing is excellent. I will have to play around with lacing tightness to figure out that best heel hold but that's the case with most shoes imo. The midsole is incredible and I 'm sure it will take on the abuse well, the bounce and propulsion is entirely new for me, I have never experienced something like this before. It would be a waste to use this for easy/slow runs since the rocker and midsole are clearly for running at faster paces.

I have been a long time Hoka Stinson wearer for hiking but the soles do n't hold up well for Grand Canyon and slick rock hiking. I decided to try the Olympus 6's and have been very pleased. The Vibram soles are grippy and durable with the same plush cushioning that I enjoyed with the Hokas. The Olympus runs about 1/2 smaller than the Hokas which caused the hassle of sending back a pair. There was a break in period for the cushioned heel but felt much better after a week. I 'm wearing them for a rim to rim later this month and if they do well with that, I 'm hooked.

I 'm an Altra purist and have been for 3 or 4 years. I have road and trail styles, but with the Olympus 6, Altra just outdid themselves. I purchased these for trail running on small gravel/dirt trails around the beach trails in the hills of the SoCal coast. Nothing technical, just a good sturdy and grippy shoe. The structure and protection level in the Olympus 6 is perfect- the toe has protection and the edge and bite of the sole works great. I was also looking for cushion and I would say the cushion is cloud- like. The reduction in fatigue from long runs is really noticed. The shoe is sturdy, but the comfort is level 10. By far my favorite 10+ miler trail shoe I 've ever worn. I have to order another pair as these quickly became my dailies. I work in film production and I have lived in these since I purchased them. Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

I slid around a bit on large wet roots and slick rocks under the stiff midfoot but recovered quickly and happily traded that for the protection from sharp obstacles. The high stack kept my feet dry when encountering mud and puddles, while the well ventilated upper kept me comfortable on long, hot days. The contoured form around the Achilles took a little getting used to, but it worked to lock my heel on ascents; no hot spots. Laces stay tied. Altra gave me this free product to try, and I 'm looking forward to putting many more miles on it.

[ Altra gave me a free pair of Olympus 6 shoes to test and review. At first, I found them a bit tight and bulky, with a snug toe box that caused some rubbing on my pinky toe during the initial runs. I only had the issue with the right shoe. For context, I typically wear a women's 8. 5W or a men's 7. 5D in running shoes. However, 8. 5 regular in the Lone Peaks fit great. I noticed that the toe box of the Olympus 6 felt narrower compared to the Lone Peaks, but wearing lightweight socks helped alleviate this issue. After running and hiking over 100 miles in the last 4 weeks on various terrains, I was surprised by how well these shoes performed. During a 16- mile trail run in the Porcupine Mountains, my feet did n't feel as tired as they usually do, thanks to the extra cushioning. The Vibram® Megagrip soles came in handy and prevented potential slips on loose gravel, muddy, and slippery trails. If you 're considering longer, technical trail runs, I highly recommend the Olympus 6.

[ ALTRA gave me this free product to try. I have been wanting to try the larger toe box but unsure about the low drop and the max cushioned and how my feet would react to that. I 'm happy to report my feet are very happy in these shoes!! I especially love the `` Gaiter Trap '' on these shoes! No need to mess with putting my own hook/loop stuff, these have it securely built in. The stack height is larger than I 'm used to so I thought I 'd trip over nature but nope, not anymore than my normal clumsiness! The cushion is great to keep feet fresh while going the distance. The snug heel hangs on tight to help avoid slippage. The Vibram soles have the perfect grip to keep me upright on mud and wet grass and gravel!

Had to go half size up for a bit more length for toes but not a big issue, I have narrow feet and width is perfect. Haven ’ t ever felt a more comfortable, bouncy, carbon plated shoe. Usually carbon plated shoes hurt my feet after a few miles- these don ’ t. Just feel good to run in and they keep your feet turning over. Only complaint is little hard to get on. Also have the Mach 6 as a daily trainer and love that too. Also have the cielo road shoes- try these they are amazing with peba foam..

Great shoes for fast running. Not as bouncy as the super marathon shoes but feel soft on landing and roll through very quickly.
