This pack is very well built, the zipper top is easy to operate, and it's held up great. I use it every day at work as a Kayak guide, the color has n't faded in the sun at all. The sternum straps are removable, so you can take them off for everyday use. This pack is just big enough, my 13 inch Macbook fits like a glove, but with the side and front compression straps it will cinch down well if you only have a few things in it. Has plenty of room for any day hikes, and the running vest style straps are super comfortable and the pockets are very useful, they fit 500ml soft flasks perfectly.

I needed a pack for training and riding in a local 100+ mile endurance ride. I have a couple other Mystery Ranch packs and am always so impressed with their design features. This pack was perfect for what I needed. The sleeves on each chest strap were perfect for storing carb gels that allow easy access while riding. The storage compartment is just the right size for extra layers and water. The mesh along the backside allows good air movement, even in 90 degree heat. Works great. Like most Thule products the instructions are at best vague. Plan on redoing it at least once. The biggest challenge is the integration with the Caprock. When you put a Caprock over the back you take off the cross bars. So now you have two crossbars with no known future to store or throw away( bleh). I would also note that another three inches in height would make the product much more versatile, as others have noted. All- in- all though a great product!

I used the trailer for packing in and out of a very remote area in Colorado. The trail was 24 ” wide max. It was canted down hill and very rocky. It was a horse trail. The only failure was the quick release holding the yoke. The securing nut vibrated off and was lost. I used a valve cap to secure it until I could get two nuts to replace the factory nut. I also used lock tight to hold it in place. I suggest a larger diameter rear wheel for more ground clearance. The trailer tracked very well and was really stable. It took a huge beating from the rocks but weathered it well. I also suggest adding rings to connect bungy cords. Connecting to the bottom rail on the trailer resulted in lost cords due to rocks pushing them off. The weight limit is about double what it should be When I had 40lbs in it made bike handling extremely difficult because the front end was light. Very happy with the durability and quality of construction.

Love it! Use my flatbed to haul inflatable boats to and from the city lakes( for demos) and for hauling items/ gear between home and the shop. Have taken it on a few grocery runs/ errands and plan to use it on a tour or two before the summer is over. Well built, easy to assemble, easy to stow. Would not mind some intentional lash points, but there is a cargo net available. Have used a rack pack and a RUX 70L on a couple of different outings and it's a pretty versatile platform. Handles nicely on mixed surfaces and around the various twists and turns- at speed. I prefer this option to a cargo bike as I can expand and contract as needed. I have the fat tires for less desirable conditions and intend to rely on this product year round- which is a challenge in Minneapolis. Regardless, very pleased with the flatbed. If only they sold direct to dealers. I do n't do business with QBP, but would likely sell more than a few.

I bought this roof bag the night we were going out of town. We drove 18 hours and experienced heavy rain. The bag stayed in place with the straps provided even though the straps feel a little stiff, they were still strong and flexible. Everything was dry upon arrival. On our drive back everything inside was damp from heavy rain but I think the flap that covers the zipper was flipped up. It should be ok as long as you don ’ t overstuff the bag and you ’ re careful about covering the zipper all the way around, you ’ ll be fine. If you have an option to get 20+cu, get the larger one. Everyone said these were huge and while our stuff fit, I could ’ ve used a roomier bag to eliminate extra inside cargo. This is for a one week trip for two adults and four children.

Kit worked well. I changed the mount from inside the trailer to outside( who wants to lose space in the trailer bed?) by getting some additional u- bolts and L- brackets to replace the bottom mounting plates. I did have to replace the bolts used to attach the tie down points, as the wrench needed to tighten them would not reach inside the cross bar.$ 2. 50 worth of slightly smaller bolts, nuts and washers fixed the issue. I still need to cut off the excess bolt threads, but it is going to work great for carrying kayaks while still allowing the trailer to be used for hauling other items.

No, I do not personally own one of the racks, but coming from a person with loads of ladder rack and vehicle rack purchasing and using experience, this may the coolest, most useful product I ’ ve ever come across. [ I bought this bag a few weeks ago and have been able to take it to a few crag sessions. So far, the bag has performed great! I have been able to fit all of my gear, rope, water, clothes and lunch with ease. Solid outer construction looks like it will stand up to a beating but have not been able to test that yet. A nice feature is that it stands upright independently which makes loading it easier. The shoulder straps and waist strap are also pretty confortable, more so than I was expecting for the type of bag this is. Not quite as comfortable as my backpacking pack, but I would n't expect this from the collapsible and stowable straps. Overall, I am very happy with this bag and would recommend it to someone looking for a good crag bag. Probably a little small for a big wall but honestly have not tried it for that.

We needed something fast for a trip and took a chance on this. Other reviews mentioned needing extra parts; I think this is correct for bikes that do n't have the traditional `` male '' frame with the crossbar from below the seat to the handlebar, but I did not need anything to attach to the trailer hitch. The included parts kept the rack very stable to the hitch and the bikes to the rack itself. As noted in other reviews, pay attention to the instructions, there are anti- sway parts that help keep the bikes from moving side- to- side, and a strap that loops between the bikes and the base of the rack to help keep them from moving back- and- forth. The bikes stayed nice and stable on our trip.

After studying some of the other reviews I purchased this carrier for my SUV and tried it out yesterday on a 60 mile trip to a local bike trail. The rack was set up in no time and the my bike( traditional design) fit on the rack with no issues at all. It ’s important to tighten the rubber straps rather hard to prevent the bike from tilting or slipping sideways, and I would also recommend installing the additional no- sway bracket as well the the additional polyester strap( both come with the carrier) securing the bike firmly against the carrier while the car is in motion. After installing all those straps and brackets, less than 5 minutes, the bike felt very secure. While driving, sometimes up to 75 mph, I watched the bike in the rear view mirror. No vibrations, no moving parts, no swaying. When back home it took one minutes to detach the carrier from the car. Overall, it ’s a great carrier and exceeded my expectations. Would definitely buy again.

I ’ m glad I did, it was easy to put together and its first install on the vehicle was easy enough. I put two heavy beach cruiser bikes on it and it handled the weight easily. Probably could not fit a third adult cruiser on it, but a kids bike could or three mountain or road style bikes would likely fit. Great purchase.

Yes- the bumpers are prone to falling out when putting on and removing the rack and this is pretty annoying. But the fact is this rack is, overall, a fine product! The ease- ability of switching from Stroller to Bike is amazing, you just pull the tire down. The large ties as well make it so simple to put air in the tires( our last one was awful). I think this was made to go the distance. Only complaint, the front wheel when you turn it into a stroller is not good for running. As an avid runner( 7: 30pace per mile for easy runs) this tire is awful. It's a plastic tire so there's no fluid motion and it's hard to turn. Luckily, we bought this for biking purposes and it has 100% exceed our expectations on that front!

Very impressed with the design, fit, and function of the GateMate PRO. It took a little fiddling with it to get it to sit on the tailgate correctly( I only had one set of pad blocks over the top at first) but once I readjusted it fit my RAM 1500 perfectly. The straps took a bit of finesse to work through the gap between the bottom of the gate and the truck bed, but that is more a function of how the truck was designed. I plan to keep a small piece of bent coat hanger wire in one of the pockets to help me pull the straps through the gap when I install it again. The Cannondale mountain bikes we hauled sat neatly in the cradle of the foam pads and the straps secured them incredibly well to the truck. For all of the goofballs that complained about the length of the strap in the other reviews- All you have to do is wrap the strap around the frame tube one extra revolution THEN thread it through the plastic ring and cinch it tight. Makes me wonder how some people manage to find their way out of bed in the morning, but I digress. This method of one extra wrap around the frame tube provides a really nice grip on the frame. We drove a couple of hundred miles so far with the bikes strapped down and they do n't wiggle or bounce at all. The mesh storage pockets are a nice touch, as is the cutout that provides access to the tailgate handle and backup camera. The material that sits against the vehicle paint is incredibly soft. Sure, there may be cheaper options out there but they certainly do n't appear to be as well- made as this one. VERY pleased with the purchase!

I ’ ve installed this GateMate Pro in my F150 Lightning. The gate is a couple of inches too wide to cleanly fit inside the frame of my Retrax tonneau, but because the GateMate is flexible I ’ m able to squeeze it in enough to close the tailgate. I might trim a bit off the sides to fix this. The product materials are strong and seem like they ’ ll last a few years. I like the pouches where I can store small items like gloves or bike tools.
