I already had a 12ft for soaking bait, and a 9ft for throwing lures in the surf. No issues with either, so decided to get an 11ft for another reel. I 'm sure there are better, more expensive rods out there, but these get the job done.

I have bought the 9' before and it was great. I decided to try the 7' and was not disappointed. What a great value

5 LKS10
First impressions of this rod are good. I bought the 9' combo in the blue camo. The quality is better than I imagined. The rod is sensitive and has good action to the tip. The reel is bigger than I expected and was prespooled with monofilament line. For anyone wondering the 9' combo is medium heavy power with medium action. It is rated for 12- 25 pound line and can cast 3/4 oz to 2 1/2 oz weights.

This rod is like a dream guy it ’s sensitive yet strong. Pretty and tough. Nice you you and mean to the catfish this sucker right here will sling your bait to the other side of the Atlantic like you are Posidon or something.

I just got mine in the mail today and did not expect to be comparing it to my St Croix musky Rods but it is very comparable. I love the extended handle, which is a rare, but useful feature. The oversized heavy duty glass eyes will allow smooth casting of heavy line, good backbone, and charchuse for night anglers. Not just a rod for soaking stink baits.

Their weight can also provide a comfortable experience during long fishing sessions.

Glass rods are known for their durability and flexibility, making them suitable for various fishing techniques, especially when targeting larger species. They typically offer a slower action, which can enhance sensitivity and provide a more forgiving feel when fighting fish. In contrast, graphite rods are generally lighter and stiffer, allowing for quicker actions and better responsiveness. Ultimately, the choice between glass and graphite rods depends on personal preference and the specific fishing conditions.

Glass rods are often favored for specific types of fishing due to their unique characteristics. They are particularly well-suited for techniques that require a slower action, such as crankbait fishing, where the flexibility helps in casting and retrieving lures effectively. Additionally, glass rods can be beneficial for targeting larger species, as they provide a forgiving bend that can help absorb sudden movements during a fight. Many anglers also appreciate their durability and resistance to breakage, making them a reliable choice for various fishing environments.

When choosing the length of a glass rod, consider the type of fishing you plan to do and the specific techniques you will use. Longer rods can provide increased casting distance and leverage, making them suitable for techniques like surf casting or targeting larger species. Conversely, shorter rods offer better control and accuracy, which can be beneficial for finesse techniques or fishing in tight spaces. Additionally, think about your personal comfort and the rod's balance, as these factors can impact your overall fishing experience.

Glass rods are known for their durability and flexibility, making them a popular choice for various fishing applications. They are less prone to breaking compared to some other materials, which can enhance their longevity in challenging conditions. While they may not be as lightweight as graphite rods, their resilience often makes them suitable for heavy-duty use. Many anglers appreciate the strength and reliability that glass rods offer during fishing trips.

When selecting a quality glass rod, consider the material's durability and flexibility, as fiberglass offers a unique combination of strength and sensitivity. Look for features such as a comfortable grip, which enhances control during casting and retrieval. Additionally, pay attention to the rod's action and power ratings, as these will influence its performance for different fishing techniques. Finally, check for quality guides and reel seats, as these components contribute to the overall functionality and longevity of the rod.

The action of a glass rod plays a crucial role in fishing performance by influencing how the rod bends and responds to fish strikes. Generally, glass rods tend to have a slower action, which allows for a more forgiving flex that can help absorb the shock of a fish's initial pull. This characteristic can enhance sensitivity and improve the ability to detect subtle bites, making them suitable for various fishing techniques. Additionally, the slower action can provide better control when casting lighter lures or baits.

Yes, glass rods can be used for both freshwater and saltwater fishing, depending on their construction and materials. Many glass rods are designed to withstand the rigors of saltwater environments, making them suitable for various fishing applications. However, it's important to choose a rod that is specifically rated for saltwater use to ensure durability and performance. Always check the specifications to confirm the rod's suitability for your intended fishing conditions.

The typical weight range for glass rods can vary based on their design and intended use, but they generally fall between 5 to 12 ounces. These rods are often heavier than their graphite counterparts due to the materials used in their construction. The added weight can provide benefits in terms of durability and sensitivity for specific fishing techniques. Many anglers appreciate the balance and feel that glass rods offer, especially for certain types of fishing.

To determine if a glass rod is suitable for your fishing style, consider the type of fishing you plan to do and the species you are targeting. Glass rods are often favored for their durability and flexibility, making them ideal for techniques that require a slower action, such as crankbait fishing. Additionally, assess the rod's length and power rating to ensure it aligns with your casting distance and the weight of the lures you intend to use.
