[ To begin, I have the navigational ability of a drunk 10 year old. After getting a little too turned around in the BWCA on my last trip I decided I prefer my canoe adventures without heckling from wife and we settled on purchasing this bad boy! Easy to use and durable. Battery life is a big plus too as I had this thing on and open most of the time on all of our paddles across big water. It gave me the peace of mind I needed by making it virtually impossible to get lost out there. The Garmin BWCA overlay maps are totally worth it too if you are thinking about it. Going places is easy, knowing where they are is hard. 11/10 would buy again.

[ I bought this as an upgrade from a etrex 20. Mostly used for geocaching and backpacking it does the job extremely well. It plays well with Expert GPS.

[ I bought the eTrex 32x last month. I especially like the 'tracks' feature where I can see exactly the path I have just traveled. This feature has been really helpful on BLM land where their might be many crisscrossing off road dirt paths. Finding the correct ones that you took previously is critical. The tracks feature makes it easy. This GPS is also super accurate. In my initial test I took it on a walk with my dog. Looking back at the tracks I could see where I walked on the sidewalk vs. on the road vs the other side of the road( single lane road). Overall a great little GPS. The only downside is that the screen seems a little small, but that is what you get when you purchase a small unit for outdoor use.

[ So far, this little unit seems like a great item. Battery life appears good so far, and it has preloaded maps that will work for most. Once I got used to the programs to make maps, paths and such.. I was able to put together a very good set up for an up coming trip. The bad or expected if you already know about GPS's. They are built on like a decade's old tech and they function like a flip phone. These day's most people have their phone on them and generally it works better if you have planned ahead to throw on a ton of downloaded maps, have a ruggedized case and super long battery life. I personally bought this because on a recent trip, we got a bit off of the map we had. We had a general idea where we were going but I had to try to bring up my phone a few times to get maps and positioning. It was lucky that we were on a hill in a bald so I could get signal at all. long story short, my phone battery took a hit and we got lucky that we were able to find the appropriate maps and got back on course. This light weight device will allow me to get my position, look at local trails and measure distance. That's worth the money and the weight.

I bought this several weeks ago. I have used it several times on the course. Fits in my pocket, easy to read, great features, and the battery is still almost full. I had an older approach, and I replaced it with this. I did n't want a watch, and did n't want a handheld, so this is perfect.

The Z82 is incredible. I wear glasses and see through the viewfinder well, which I have had difficulties doing with other rangefinders. The organization of the information onscreen is brilliant. Every distance you can imagine is there at a glance.

I bought a Garmin Z82 a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed the rangefinder. One troubling issue has been the inability of the rangefinder to link with Android phones for more than 15 minutes, rendering the advanced wind reporting functions useless. They recently came out with software upgrades that seem to fix the issue. Love the unit and all features now work. Would definitely recommend the rangefinder - great display and excellent features.

Trading up to Garmin from Apple for the back - trac feature mostly, but man does this thing have battery life. My other watch dies in 1 - 2 days, but this thing will go for a month or more on a single charge, and I can charge it from my cell phone. Really impressed.

I 've been using my Instinct E for about a month and so far, so good! Its predecessor, a Forerunner 45, served me well for about five years, but it was getting difficult to charge( I think it was the contact points, but not really sure). I like the new features of the Instinct - E; each watch proves to have its own personality and virtues. Anyway, it's a good one!

I bought this watch having come from the original Instinct that I ’ ve had since 2018. It ’s been a great watch. I like that it has the connect IQ to change watches faces. It is also a sharper display. The E has all the features I need. Most of the general population that buys these are not doing extreme hiking or marathons and therefore the E has enough for the gen pop. What I think they dropped the ball on is still having a two week battery. It ’s the same battery life as my original instinct. They cheaped out on that. It ’s should be at least a month battery. The only other “ like ” I would want is to have the torch( flash light) on this one. Outside of that. I really like the watch.

The Garmin 965 is the perfect watch for those who want to get into any activity, indoors or outdoors, but who does n't want the full suite of features the Fenix series offers. Since buying and setting up this watch, I have only had to charge it a handful of times. The touchscreen is super useful to be interacting with all of the features on the AMOLED screen. The stress and heartrate monitoring while I 'm sleeping is really nice too. Now that the 970 is out, this is an excellent deal if you can find one on - sale!

I had an Apple Watch for years. I used it for tracking cycling, running, and swimming. The battery life was declining and needed to be charged twice a day. I ’ ve had the garmin for a month now and love it! I have used it to track running, cycling, hiking, swimming, and sleep. I ’ m very impressed with the tracking abilities and the garmin app that tracks health. The battery life is insane. I have probably only charged it three times in the last month. The garmin watch is a perfect fitness tracker!

I bought this Forerunner for my husband who had a major stroke 3 years ago to encourage him to walk, stay hydrated and to track his sleep. He can walk with difficulty with a cane, but he only has one functional hand and arm. But because it is touch screen, he can manipulate his watch by touching it with his nose. We opted for a simple watch face that is easy for him to read.

[ Bought this last month. First of, MJ was great in replacing the first unit I received, which had clearly been used( likely prior buyer had returned it after wearing it). The unit I received as replacement has been phenomenal. Very user - friendly, awesome battery life, and what is impressing me so far is that Coros is very actively improving its features. Just this week they started rolling out turn - by turn navigation. While music functionality is somewhat limited right now( only storage of MP3s on the watch itself I have no doubt this will keep getting better as well. But even if not this watch will serve me very well for running, cycling, swimming, indoor rowing, and many other things for years to come.

[ i did my homework before i bought the Coros Apex 2 watch, so i thought i knew what to expect when it arrived a few weeks ago. i expected the battery life to be longer than most watches that this compares to. i expected that the Apex 2 would have all the features i needed as an avid mountain biker. this watch is more than that. the watch is lighter and more compact than i thought it would be. i am not sure how they are able to provide the functions and battery life in a smaller lighter package. i definitely have no regrets with this watch and i look forward to all the adventures that i will take it on with me.
$449.00
Highly recommend! ... Highly recommend ... The battery life is amazing - - I only have to charge it once every two weeks, and I usually use it every day for activities that are 1 - 2 hours

Matt
[ Great watch. It ’s not too big. It ’s comfortable to wear to sleep. Creating routes on it is easy, though the map is a little hard to see. I ’ ve had it for a couple weeks and I like all the data it provides with regard to quantifying exercise volume, recovery, and optimal levels of activity. As a personal trainer training for several athletic pursuits, it ’s helping me track my recovery. It ’s inspiring me to take my sleep more seriously. I ’ m still learning how to use some of the advanced features. I no longer carry my phone hooked up to my HRM when I exercise. Anyway.. lots of positive changes to my life after finally biting the bullet and getting a smart watch. I am now curious if I could have tolerated the bulkiness( in addition to the higher price tag) of the higher end model. But no regrets. Get this watch.

[ Decided to try Coros after years with Garmin. Sapphire glass and titanium case have prevented any damage so far. Coros app is also great. Highly recommend

[ I absolutely love this watch! The battery life is amazing - - I only have to charge it once every two weeks, and I usually use it every day for activities that are 1 - 2 hours long. The GPS has worked great, though I have n't tested it out on routes that might have reduced signal. There is no 'mountain bike' activity, though the regular 'ride' activity works perfectly fine for mountain bike rides. I really like that you can customize the watch face for each activity. Overall, great watch! Highly recommend!

[ I bought this watch a month ago to upgrade from the coros Apex 1. I ’ m a budding ultra runner prepping for my 3rd 100 miler and first 100m in the mountains. Main reasons for upgrade was increased battery life and satellite coverage strength The watch is def an upgrade from the apex 1. Big things I love are the more detailed sleep data( light sleep, deep sleep, rem sleep) vs apex 1 only tracking light sleep and deep sleep Also the satellite coverage is a lot stronger Aesthetically I love the smaller face as I have smaller wrists

i bought this at golf galaxy. Very easy to put together and even easier to use. Works best with a cart bag, so might want to invest in that if you don ’ t have one. GPS about as accurate as my garmin watch and distance reader. Overall, it ’s worth every penny, if you like walking the course.

Bought this on Massachusetts tax free weekend, and am glad I did. Have used it on hilly courses and it works great. Something I rarely do, download the manual first and read. Assembly is easy, do not test drive in the house in a small space. Do take it outside after initial charging and test drive in the street or parking lot, prior to going on the course. Very happy with mine.

Upgraded from my Fenix 7 to get the full color display. Much more vibrant and readable, with excellent battery life( about 3 weeks with moderate GPS use). As with prior models, it is a bit of a chore to get the menus, display fields, and the watch face customized to your liking, but after that, it just works, with excellent functionality. Main hesitation in recommending it is just the price. Unless you use the microphone/speaker functions( which I do only occasionally) the main upgrade from recent models is the display and battery life.

Sturdy and robust design built for the hardships of everyday wear in all conditions. Great fitness tracking, gps, sleep monitoring, and the flashlight is awesome. UI is kind of weird like in most garmin products but the button interface makes it friendlier than most. Best suited for the committed adventurer and athlete. The solar display is less vibrant so watch faces can be a bit dull, the simpler face the better.

If you want a watch that can track any activity and has a battery last for weeks look no further. This watch does it all, with accurate GPS tracking and long battery life it is perfect for my uses. I mainly use it for running and cycling and its amazing. While this has all the bells and whistles it is definetley meant for the more serious consumer. It may be too much for the beginner with the price.

The battery life is great on it, using this watch for all around activities but tracking your runs are great, I love that the screen is pretty much unbreakable and that the bezel doesn ’ t catch too much light causing glare. Very simple to use out the box, and recommended to set it up on the app for a quicker and easier set up. Don ’ t think about buying it. Just buy it. Did my research and the cheapest place I found it was on here.

This watch is everything and more than I ever could have hoped for in an everyday watch, fitness tracker, training tool and its all wrapped up in a very stylish exterior. HikerFL
I bought this a month ago when I saw they were getting rid of them for the Fenix 8's. I had done a product comparison on the site before, and the only thing the 8 had the 7 did n't was an AMOLED screen, and slightly better waterproof rating for the new dive features. That was it. Not enough for me to want the 8 over the 7, or justify the large price difference. Beyond that, this is a huge upgrade for me from my fitbit. I wanted a watch that would be durable and have a longer lasting battery than the Apple or Google watches. I loved it could have increased accurate GPS coverage and maps for when I go hiking. My sister has the Apple and her battery not only dies before a long hike is over, but the GPS is n't as accurate. The health metrics seem to be in depth compared to the fitbit, and I like seeing my training status and load efficiency. I tested this battery last week. Any time you start a GPS related activity it zaps the battery more. I was also out in full sun often so this helped. I was able to log a hike+ 3 short kayaking sessions on one charge, and it lasted 11 days before needing a charge.( I did not have any smart phone notifications turned on) If you 're looking for a watch that's geared more towards those who are into outdoor recreation for their exercise, and has the rugged durability to survive these activities, this watch is for you. If you need just a smart watch for time, emails, and what not this watch might be overkill for what you 're looking for.

love love the fenix it tracks every sports/activity I do daily the battery has lasted a long time and I think the solar helps especially running/biking outside where it gets sunlight alot. my only issue is I have a small wrists - I wish there was a slightly smaller size.

This watch was a delightful upgrade to my previous Garmin watch. I didn ’ t need to replace my previous watch, but after getting the Fenix for my husband at Christmas, I wanted this watch. I run, walk, weightlift, do yoga, swim, Sup—you name it. I love the ability to see how I slept, suggested workouts, etc upon waking.

While a Garmin is still not as “ smart ” as an Apple Watch, the fenix 8 amoled is starting to play in the same ball park. I ’ ve been very happy to return to Garmin for the sport functions after several years with Apple Watch and AWU. The battery life is still unmatched.

I bought the Fenix 8 after a couple of less - than - optimal experiences with competitor products. After several months with the watch, I am convinced that there is not a more thoughtfully designed sports watch on the market. Everything on this watch just works, and Garmin has thought of everything. Even small details like the watch automatically ejecting water from the speaker after a watersports activity speak to the level of detail that Garmin focused on when designing this watch. The software is fast and fluid, the screen is brilliant, and the health and exercise data collected is precise and presented in a useful and palatable format. The only thing that I feel could use some improvement with the watch is that when I take a phone call from the watch, there is evidently a lot of microphone feedback, as in people talking to me through my watch hear a significant echo of everything they say. Overall, an excellent watch that I feel is well worth the higher price tag.

From backpacking, to running, to working out, this watch does it all. Instead of asking what this watch can do, the better question is what can it NOT do. The battery life is amazing and the GPS capabilities are unmatched. The AMOLED face is super bright even in the direct sunlight. Definitely not a watch that a beginner would need, but an amazing tool for an avid explorer and athlete!

I love it. I use it everyday. I charge it once a weekend but I think I could charge it once every 2 weeks which is a total upgrade from my apple watch that I had to charge every night. I don ’ t use the sleep app but there ’s so many features that I don ’ t even realize how useful it is!
5

I had the Epix before and it was a great sports accessory. This does all that and more. The battery life is the most noticeable immediate difference. I use this for everything, although apparently I need to sleep more and I am really out of shape... lol! This watch will work for any stats geek whilst still being popular with the weekend warrior who likes to smash out activities and track them.

One of the biggest surprises for me was how much the detailed metrics opened my eyes to things I wasn ’ t even accounting for before—like recovery time, heart rate variability, and sleep quality. I used to just track basic distance and time, but this watch really shows you the full picture of your health and performance. It's helped me make smarter decisions about training, rest, and even daily stress management. The build quality is amazing too—super tough yet surprisingly lightweight for how durable it feels. The sapphire crystal and solar charging are a game - changer; I barely worry about battery life even with heavy GPS use. Navigation features are also top - tier, and I love how intuitive the touchscreen is without sacrificing the classic button setup. Another huge plus: the mapping and outdoor features are incredibly detailed. Whether I ’ m running, hiking, or cycling, the watch keeps me locked into the route and even alerts me if I go off track. It ’s truly a complete adventure companion. If you want something that not only tracks your workouts but genuinely helps you optimize your lifestyle, this watch is worth it.

This has been the best fitness watch I 've owned. I used to be a Fitbit person, but since switching to Garmin, I 'll never go back. The solar charging feature with this particular model is advantageous for outdoor users. There are many features with this watch that might be more geared towards experts, but anyone can benefit from it. Personally, I enjoy the GPS features( on - watch map, compass, altitude, etc.), sleep data, and keep track of my activities including swimming with its good resilience to water.

I recently upgraded to the Fenix 7X Pro Solar and I am very happy with the touch screen, new features and extended battery life. The buttons also seem to function better. It gives more detailed info on your workouts and the GPS seems to be more accurate as well. I am glad that I upgraded although I kind of had to as after I fixed my old watch( cleaned the buttons as one of them was sticking), water vapor started to creep in and I broke the LED screen when trying to separate it from the watch face due to the vacuum effect from the water vapor. [ Extremely useful for such a minimalist design with a robust battery life. Lightweight, low profile yet it has an incredible battery life with pinpoint GNSS accuracy delivered by a chipset that supports dual band satellite fixes. The Coros app by far is the best making route building and reviewing post work metrics easier than ever. Additionally, app doubles as either an interactive topo map during activities like hiking or trail running, but on indoor activities like spinning or treadmill running the app becomes real - time stat screen that is customizable by the user. The generation of Coros watches: Pace 3 and Pace Pro really deliver substantive features that are insightful to improving and refrains from producing questionable gimmicks like “ wellness ” metrics that have never been validated by a third party or university researchers. Plus Coros( and Apple) are probably the only company( ies) that are delivering routine updates& upgrades to their previous gen devices so you are not constantly compelled to buy the latest generation. Plus Coros releases model of a series every 3 years.

I bought this for my new boat, a Shamrock 270 Mackinaw. My previous boat had the HDS Carbon 3d - Structure Scan 9 ''. Now that was an awesome fishfinder. However, the HDS LIVE has just upped the game. Though I do not have the 3d structure scan, the HDS LIVE does present a better image in the side scanning and 2d structure views. The touch display is awesome and so easy to use in setting up way points. What more can I say, its a homerun!

While I 've only had three opportunities to fish with this locator since I 've purchased it, it seems to perform very well. I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen option. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. So far this product meets my expectations( which are high) for a Humminbird product.

I had bought this watch after owning the Fenix 5x Plus Sapphire and then the Venu 3. I did like the Fenix 5x Plus but did n't love it. So, I thought the Venu 3 would fill the void that was present on the 5x Plus, it did not. The Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire has everything that's missing in the Fenix 5x Plus and Venu 3. There is no doubt that the edge 840 is feature packed but it is unnecessarily complicated to set up and too prescriptive in terms of defaulting to workouts and performance rather than having those as a choice. I ’ ve used the Garmin Epyx 2nd Gen for two years, and when mine had an issue, Garmin replaced it — no questions asked. But more importantly, this watch isn ’ t just smart — it ’s built for real - life survival. Unlike the Apple Watch, which dies after a day or so, the Epyx 2 Gen lasts 16 days — with GPS on. That alone puts it in a class of its own. If you ever get lost, your phone and tablet will die fast — but this watch keeps going. That ’s more than convenience — that ’s a lifeline. It ’s got everything you 'd expect from a high - end smartwatch — heart rate, altimeter, compass, sunrise/sunset times, text and call notifications( answerable via earbuds), and yes, music control. But these features aren ’ t what makes it special. What makes it special is that it ’s reliable. It doesn ’ t quit when you need it the most. This isn ’ t a toy or a fashion piece. It ’s a serious tool for people who live active, unpredictable lives. The Epyx 2 isn ’ t just another watch. It ’s peace of mind — on your wrist.

I 've only had this watch for a few weeks, so I have n't had a chance to really test it, but so far, I am very pleased with it. I plan to use this watch to record bicycle trips instead of my older Edge 820. The Epix has profiles for a number of different activities. My main interests are walking/hiking, kayaking, and cycling. My older Garmin Vivoactive 4 did not have a specific kayaking activity; I found this mildly annoying. Now I do n't have this problem since the Epix has a specific kayaking activity.

My 1030 plus decided took on water on a wet ride and had to be replaced. I got the Edge 1040 thinking it would be very similar and did not expect much difference. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements in the unit. First thing I noticed were the icons on the data screens that make it easier to find things like elevation, grade, gears, and next turn direction( see first two screen shots). Probably the best improvement is in the Climb Pro screen( screen shot 3). Climbs are automatically detected based on the road you are riding( previously climbs just showed up on preloaded routes). The climb pro screen now shows you the map along with the graph. Includes the grade you are currently at and remaining distance, grade and altitude gain left in the climb. Nice feature! I like how the meter pairs with Di2 shifters as seen on the last screen shot.

It is exactly as represented, so it gets 5 stars. There are, however, a few issues the first of which is a 5 '' display is too small, but that is on me. It's not easy to remove a micro SD card. Brightness control via the power button can produce a quandary as to whether the brightness is turned down in bright sun or the unit is powered off. The beeps and alarms are so difficult to hear as to be worthless. Still a 5 star rating.

This review is for the Hook reveal 5 splitshot with Inland maps. I love this unit so far! I just used it to fish for jumbo perch on open water. My transducer is mounted on back of the boat, so I anchor and then drop my jig near the back of the boat. I can see the fish come in to inspect the lure, I would almost always catch a fish once I saw one on the screen. I really love the detail and I 've been using pallette 13 split with downscan as recommended. from a few friends. Most recently, I used the unit to troll for walleye, it clearly marks suspended off the bottom and has made my fishing experience more enjoyable!

I bought a 2023 Tahoe 185s with the fishing package on it and it has this model trolling motor on it with a Lowrance hook 2 4x fish finder at the trolling motor and my question is what other fish finder unit can I replace it with that will hook up to the same wire connection coming from the motor? And I would like to know if I can hook up a foot pedal to it Cabela ’s where I bought it from said I could.
