And this is the best I 've ever used. It's nearly silent. The drag action is smooth as silk and the retrieve is just as good. Gone is the loud ratcheting sound when a fish puts on a fight. If you like that, then grab the Authentic 33. It will sound like you expect, but this is silent and buttery smooth. Zeb co makes much more expensive reels, loaded up with quality bearings. But unless you 're making a living on a boat, this should be plenty. I go fishing every weekend with my sons and I 've caught dozens of fish on this. Mostly pan fish, crappie and bass but I 've reeled in a few nice carp and catfish as well. The reel did well.

Used to have the last model of 10k Saragosa SW. Was too big to cast or hold all day, so sold it and recently bought the 6k Saragosa SW A. Love it. Smooth and light and casts well. That said the 6k has limited line capacity. Fishing for pelagic species off the kayak in SE Florida the 8k or 10k makes more sense so may buy one for next trip down. Hard to find at local stores so online seems like the only way to get one.

I was using a 2500 Ultegra but it's just too heavy for long days of jigging. Tried to use a Stradic 1000 and it works but feels underpowered and with 6lb it's not ideal. Been using the Tatula 2000 model for inshore jigging with 6lb line and I ca n't fault it jigging for 5- 6 hours non stop being so light. The only gripe is the handle has a tiny bit of play but nothing a shim ca n't resolve. I changed the handle to a black Titanium Gomexus with ceramic bearings and now it's perfect. I am critical of my reels and I have many including the 22 Stradic and Stella as well as other lower model Diawa's. This is an extraordinary reel in how it feels. The shaft feels that it's spinning on air when turning the handle, something my other reels do n't feel like. It's really an amazing feeling. The reel never has failed once in operation and is very light. Line management is excellent but need to add a washer to get the line lay to not taper on the top from how it came originally.

I couldnt be more pleased with this reel, Drag is great/strong, very smooth and has anti- reverse switch. Spool is exceptional for casting and line maintenance( no problems with line twist). You could use this reel with or without the bait feeder feature, but if ur bottom fishing this is a great feature to have and use. Got to use this immediately on a recent trip to the beach. Not to heavy and bulky like my other reels. Smooth retrieve. Only caught small fish so the bait feeder system disnt really come into play but boy is it a cool feature. Look forward to using it for fall striper fishing!
