[ I got the Daylite Plus to act as a compliment to my Farpoint 40 for travel. I 'm really pleased with how it can attach on the Farpoint despite not being the Farpoint- specific daypack, because this gives me a daypack with a bit more space. The main compartment holds a surprising amount of stuff for its size, and the bag is really comfortable to wear and carry. It worked really well being carried through the airport and also serving as a daybag for both around the city and campground camping. We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. The water bottle holders are fantastic and fit a regular nalgene perfectly. For trips without the toddler, it makes a fantastic one- bag option for light travel. Purchased: Aug 2024 Uses: 15+ day hikes with scrambling in the eastern Sierra General: I purchased the Sportlite 30 to replace my aging, 11 year old, Deuter Speedlite 30. My preference is a balance of lightweight, volume, and comfort, and I had not seen anything comparable to my Speedlite until I saw the Osprey. Having used it for a few months, I feel I can give a run down of my impressions. Fit: I have a 16 ” torso and purchased the small which fits very well. It carries much better than my Speedlite as it stays in place on my back better and there is less play when scrambling. What I like: Stretch side panels keep items secure, as does the front stretch compression pocket. I am very pleased Osprey added 2 hip pockets and I like that one of them is a stretch mesh pocket. I ’ ve always had zippered pockets in the past, and the stretch mesh secures a snack and allows for an easier retrieval than fighting with a zipper. I wasn ’ t sure I was going to like the direct access hydration sleeve, but it has worked well. Although the shoulder straps seem thin, they are comfortable and I ’ ve had no issues with them. What could be better: The 2 stretch loops on the shoulder straps are too high. I have a carabiner attached to the lower loop and it sits on top of my shoulder and sticks out rather than hanging down. I ’ d really like to see these moved lower. The side stretch mess pockets are about an inch to high. It is very difficult to reach around to grab something, e. g., bottle of liquid fuel/electrolytes, and put it back. The front compression pocket is also a bit too high. I basically have to unclip the compression straps to grab something, e. g., gloves, hat, from the pocket. But, on the other hand, if the pocket were not as high, it might not hold as much. I 'm not sold yet on the trekking pole loops. They seem small cumbersome. When I 've had to store my poles, I stuff them in a side pocket and secure them with the top compression straps. Lastly, I prefer my key clip to be in the external pocket of the top lid. At the end of a hike, when I ’ m tired and just want to get in my car, with the clip in the external pocket, all I have to do is unzip+ unclip. The workflow to get to one ’s keys in the under the lid pocket design requires one to undo 2 compression straps( 2 clicks)+ flip the lid+ unzip the pocket+ unclip. That ’s 5 steps vs 2. Despite the above limitations, I really do like this pack, especially how it carries. It meets my requirements for being light, having a 30L volume, and being comfortable. I ’ m not sure of the durability yet.. the mesh panel on the back has already ripped.

The back pad does n't hold too much heat and the taller more narrow shape of the pack does n't feel like you have a bunch of stuff. I 've used this for mountain runs and sport climbing. It took me a while to discover the hose pass- through for the hydration bladder. The pack is mostly one giant space which has plusses and minuses. I wish it had another zippered pouch on the outside for snacks. I 've kept them in the outer stretch pockets which works well enough I guess.

This pack is the perfect trail companion! I 've gotten to take it out both XC skiing and on some winter hikes and it's the perfect size for an extra layer, snacks, first aid kit, and any other gear you might need on the trail. I love the magnet strip on the water bladder that nicely holds the bladder straw in space when not using it, and easy to drink out of while on the trail. The pockets are well thought out and easily accessible. I do wish the side water bottle pockets were a little larger to fit my nalgene, but definitely not a dealbreaker since it has the integrated bladder.

[ I 've used an inflatable pillow for decades, first a 2. 5 '' one that doubled as a seat pad, then a STS 4. 5 '' pad, and finally this one which at 5. 5 '' thick is actually comfortable for my neck. I typically sleep at home with two pillows, and this is just what I needed to be comfortable. The fabric is comfortable on your face and the pillow is silent as you roll over.

We fill them up and then let a little out. We also have the smaller version of this pillow which is also great when weight is a factor. This is my second Talon 22 and I noticed a number of improvements including a better frame support, sturdier top holder for the poles and easier to access pocket for the water bladder. The only think I miss is the clip for the water bladder which was easily fixed by using a small carabiner.

What's improved:( 1) size of hip belt pockets, they are bigger,( 2) zippers on said pockets. These can actually be opened, and( 3) hydration bladder space. There are other changes that are probably improvements, but those matter little to me. Great pack. Great service from Osprey.

This pack surprised me on the upside. For my daily needs, I only need 16 liters, but I carry a 13 '' laptop and want good organization. This pack delivers. It's a very good design and great materials. Well thought out internal organization. My only gripe is the fabric used for the top quick access pocket feels like cheap sweatshirt material. It wo n't scratch sunglasses, but I 'd prefer something a little nicer. That said, I give this pack a thumbs up.

It is exactly what I was looking for in an everyday pack that I can also use for day hikes. The pockets are great, the straps are all adjustable and there even a whistle on the chest strap. Lots of options for attachment of items such as poles on the exterior of the pack. I love the small fleece pocket at the top of the bag. The outer pocket is great for putting wet or smelly items in. ` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. I would say I still love the fit and durability of each different style I have( the one I use for working outside is the first Rogue I purchased in 2008), and I 'm really happy Camelbak finally upgraded the bite valve design, but the added magnetic clip placement still needs a more permanent home to affix to on the shoulder strap or chest strap, or something. When the only place to affix it to is somewhere along the adjustable side of the chest strap it's just never in a constant place to mindlessly clip it back in. I ’ ve used this for several years now for dog walks. My phone fits well, there ’s a spot for some change/$ /cards in the back. And plenty of room for poo bags and treats. My dog is excited when he sees it coming out of the closet! 😊

[ I bought this for our honeymoon trip to Norway. It has become my go to adventure pack. I love the adjustability of the strap and I love that I can carry all my essentials in one small place—phone, wallet, chapstick, and passports( when traveling). I can hide it under my coat in crowded cities and you ’ d never know it ’s there or I can hang it out looking all stylish and cute. I love this little bag. I hate purses, but none of my dresses have pockets, so I need a way to carry stuff. I put my phone( has a popsocket wallet on it) in the main compartment with a small flannel hanky and my travel toothbrush in the tiny sleeve pocket inside. I use the zipper pocket for my keys. Perfect. Be aware that neither the inside sleeve pocket nor the zipper pocket are the entire length of the bag; I really wish they were- it would make fitting my car keys in the zipper pocket a whole lot easier. I use this daily for errands and at work to keep my phone and my keys with me.

Not the case with the Recon.. the pockets are MUCH deeper and more secure feeling( and I can cinch them down if needed) ... A well crafted well designed backpack that has and holds many items with compartments to assist as well.

This North Face Recon Backpack is perfect for high school. It has plenty of room for books, binders, and even my laptop, plus extra pockets for smaller stuff. The straps are super comfortable, even with a full load. Great quality, looks sharp, and holds up well with daily use. Totally worth it!

I love this bag so much. I have one for work and when I use for my personal, I love the bungee cords. It's a perfect 28 L. The material is awesome. It feels like it's water resistant that waterproof which is fine. The cupholders are great and the bungees do his job so if you 're looking for not too big that's too small solid 28 L and you 're willing to spend a little bit more money check out the borealis you wo n't be sorry!

I was n't sure if I would like the new Recon but I love it! I like how it is nice and tidy without showing everything I have in my mesh pocket. It's easy and accessible and has 3 zippers for a lot of organizing.

Haven ’ t used it yet but in theory, this should be a Great pack and possibly the lightest per volume pack made other than skimo packs. Also, this pack can carry fat skis. My Volkl Shiro ’s that are 151 in the tip and 129 in the tail can fit in either the a frame or diagonal cary. Plus the internal Velcro pocket is wide enough to fit a DK impact spine protector.

Fantastic design. I love the separate avalanche gear pocket and the easy open and closure. The material is great and does not get wet in many snow conditions. Very comfortable for my smaller 5 ’ 1 frame. I just wish the smaller sized pack came with a helmet strap like the others:)

This review is going to be non- adventure related:) I am a caregiver for my husband who is battling stage 4 cancer so when I leave the house, I need to carry syringes, bandaids, towels, hydration supplies, nausea and chemo supplies, etc. This bag has the perfect size for me to fit everything in, without having to carry multiple bags. The pockets are well thought- out as each one has a purpose. The bag is NOT heavy at all which I am so grateful for because it has a good shoulder and back support. The bag is great quality, zippers are very sturdy and overall very stylish color and design! I love how it does n't make me look frumpy when carrying it because it's not your traditional boring `` backpack ''. It's a statement for someone going through a bold adventure. Love the bag! Perfect size and so many pockets! I really like that it has a place for my laptop, and multiple front pockets. At first I was worried it may be too small, but with so many pockets and two water bottle holders, it's small but mighty!
