Had the normal one full day break- in period. This is my third pair and I keep coming back for them. They are rugged and durable and last a little over a year when used roughly for hiking, trail running and slogging through the mud. I compete with these a lot because they keep the water out( unless I go in the streams) and they hold up really well. The soles start to get thinner after 1. 5 years but I have n't found any others that hold up any better and still stay together like these Moab 3's.

He has a similar version without the extra black textile on the side but they really stretched out. The black textile seems to help hold the shape of the shoe better than just suede. I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

These shoes fit true to size and are amazingly comfortable. They are soft and squishy enough to survive 10- hour days working on concrete but also rock solid on runs and in the gym. When running, you 'll feel them propel you forward for the next step. I 'm also a bit of wide footer and these have plenty of room in the forefoot/toe area for me. Great shoes! Where did I take my new shoes? First trip is to Portugal, including beaches, cobblestone streets, hiking on gravel and stone paths. And yes, a bit of water to test the waterproof claim. This is my forth pair of these shoes. I wear them every day( whether I 'm going hiking or going to work) and they me last 4- 5 years. I like them because they 're very comfortable and the GORE- TEX keeps my feet dry. They also get a great grip on the trail and protect my feet from all manner of trail hazards. On the negative side, the sole separates from the shoe after a few years. It ’s possible to glue the sole back on, but for what these cost, the soles shouldn ’ t come unglued.

Once I figured out how to tie them to fit my foot better I could n't hardly tell I had them on. They breathe well and my feet feel fresh and dry. I also wear wool socks which add to that. That traction is there for me in everything I 've put them through. I believe I 've found my new favorite boots.

Recently purchased these as a light hiker for dog walks on trails. I have a couple of foot issues that require a wider toe box and these delivered. I find them to be comfortable, roomy in the toe box but still snug around the heel to prevent slippage. They also fit my custom orthotics perfectly. After a horrible experience with the migrating foam in the footbed of a previous leather- upper Merrell, this was a gamble... but so far it's been great. Incredible cushioning, great fit. A few unexplainable hard spots on the uppers noticeable only on steep side- hills. Now on to the desert sand.

These shoes are great as my daily workshoes on the dock or out landscaping. Great traction on multiple surfaces even if a little wet. Vibram tech on the sole keeps you going strong on the most rugged terrain. The leather material keeps your feet dry and adds durability to the shoe, but it does not provide breathability like other materials. I highly recommend these shoes for specific use, but if you plan to use them for extending hiking, I would choose a fabric material so you feet can breathe and not get overheated.

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. Excellent boots for summer to fall hiking that will last.

I ’ ve worn Salomon boots for years. Since they dont have the older model x ultra mid boots. I decided to try these ones out. They look nice and seem to have all the features from the previous model. However, they have an uncomfortable pressure point located on the inside middle part of both boots. Which makes it uncomfortable to wear as soon as you wear them. Hoping breaking them in after wearing them over time will fix this problem.
