I use this heater with a large 4 man shanty and it keeps it heated. First trip out this year was in sub - zero weather and we stayed warm all day long. One small tank of propane lasts about 3 - 4 hrs on low setting. The only time I ’ ve used medium setting is to cook and have never used the high setting. This will work well for you, if you realize how to use Cast Iron. It will heat slowly with the first pie and then probably burn if you do n't pay close attention. After that they will come out of the fire perfectly toasted and fairly fast. We had one as kids for camping with our family. It lasted over 40 years and one of my siblings has it now. I bought one for our family, so we could enjoy the same memories! Not very expensive either!

So when looking for a pie iron for motorcycle camping I bought a Rome pie iron for more than 2x price of the Coghlan ’s version, but found the 28 ” handles don ’ t detach so they wont fit in my panniers. About as compact as it gets with a regulated backpacking stove. I usually prefer the systems like Flash and MicroMo, but I always keep an extra MightyMo in my kit. It's small and affordable enough to keep a few handy for emergencies or as a backup. I love that you can place any pot or pan on the fold - out arms. Small but mighty!

I bought two of these stash. Cook sets one for myself and one for my sister. My sister had experienced a really bad storm in DFW without power so I sent her one of these so she could make lentils and rice. It came in clutch! The second use case I have for it is… I feed my dog, the honest kitchen brand food, which is basically freeze dried human grade, but in powder form. You basically mix it up with hot water and make a nice thick porridge. I keep one in my truck so that I could quickly heat up or barely warm up the water to make a hot meal for my coco pup basically anywhere we are! Plug: i also own the 3 other JetBoils. The Genesis full system, micro mo and mini mo. Took the mini mo to Banff and made the Food - for - sole brand meals. It was amazing to have it take care of 6 people using it taking turns. We had our food and a gallon of water. Spent the entire day at lake lousie and kept everyone nourished. They all have a place in our camp setup.

This pot is a nice addition to a non ltralight backpacking trip. It allows for cooking meals like mac and cheese( rather than just boiling water in the normal windburner pot). The heat is concentrated in the center of the pot, which is intuitive given the design, but it does n't cook as well as a pocket rocket, but uses much less fuel... just stir a little more often and it works just fine! I use my Jetboil all the time! I have a wide variety of stoves and use this one the most. It is so fast for boiling water and so easy for making coffee. On roadtrips I use it to make quick coffee every morning and in the winter time I ’ m boiling water for ramen noodles in the ski resort parking lot. It is a little bulky for backpacking but I have brought it along a few times. For backpacking I would bring along a more compact and versatile stove. I end up using it in random situations like long hikes, days out playing in the snow, and car camping trips. After about a year of heavy use it wobbles a bit on the fuel canister and the sparker is inconsistent which can be solved by bringing a lighter. Would highly recommended for anyone who spends time outside and loves coffee.

Awesome cook stove and extremely dependable. The Genesis is like the gold standard cook set that all others are compared against. It costs more but you get so much more in durability, adjustability of flame, fuel efficiency etc. Not a hiking cook set but works in all other arenas.

The Genesis system is one of my best kitchen items. I have both the basecamp( 2 burner) and the single system. Absolutely never fails, great click to light that lights even in high wind. The flame is extremely sensitive making high heat vs slow boil settings very accurate to cook with. It's small, lightweight and stackable. Highly recommend
