I bought 2 of these reels for my wife and me. Being disable, we need easy smooth reels- these are so smooth. We tried them yesterday trolling for trout in a deep lake with great success. The sonar marked at 120 ft and so we drop our lines down with the aid of the line counters and hit the mark perfect. We ca n't wait tostartthis Salmon season.

I have many Okuma Cold Water reels and all work generally well( the reason that I will continue to purchase). The line counter is the least reliable aspect but all of the reels continue to work after years of service. Dick's was the best place to purchase while they were on sale. Sales associates are always very helpful- the reason that I continue to shop at this franchise.

Smooth, light weight, and solid. Using this reel for rock fish and it did a good job to hold on the fight.

Frequently Asked Questions For Okuma Line Counter Reels

When selecting line counter reels, consider features such as the accuracy of the line counter, drag system quality, and gear ratio. A good line counter should provide precise measurements to help you track your line depth effectively. Additionally, look for reels with durable construction and smooth operation to enhance your fishing experience.

Line counter reels are particularly beneficial for trolling and deep-water fishing, where knowing the exact depth of your bait is crucial. They are designed to help anglers maintain consistent depths and improve catch rates. Whether you're targeting specific species or fishing in varying water conditions, these reels can enhance your overall fishing strategy.

Choosing the right size line counter reel depends on the type of fishing you plan to do and the species you are targeting. Consider the line capacity, drag strength, and the type of fishing rod you will pair it with. A larger reel may be necessary for deep-sea fishing, while a smaller reel could be sufficient for freshwater applications.

Line counter reels are typically made from materials such as aluminum, graphite, or composite blends. Aluminum reels are known for their durability and strength, while graphite reels are lighter and often more affordable. Understanding the material can help you assess the reel's weight, durability, and overall performance.

The drag system in line counter reels plays a critical role in controlling the tension on the line during a catch. A smooth and adjustable drag allows for better control when fighting fish, preventing line breakage. Look for reels with high-quality drag systems that can handle the weight of the fish you are targeting.

Yes, line counter reels come in various styles, including conventional and low-profile designs. Conventional reels are often favored for their strength and line capacity, while low-profile reels offer a more compact and ergonomic design. The choice between styles depends on personal preference and the specific fishing techniques you plan to use.
