[ I needed a longer winter coat that I can move and walk in. This one is perfect. Comes down to upper calf( I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ”) and unzips from the bottom for hills. The coat is lightweight including the shell so it ’s not for standing still in a blizzard, but ideal for** city** commuting and longer walks. The whole collar and hood are so squishy and cozy, but slippery so they don ’ t make your hair wild and electrified. Good winter and low temp jacket. Its longer and a tad baggy/active since its made for riding, so take your normal size and layer underneath for really cold days. It's super comfortable and will keep you warm and dry. Hood is definitely a little too Raph, it's made for riding with a helmet on, so its too big for casual wear but I knew that would be the case for any snowboard jacket so it does n't bother me.

Many down jackets with smother you with heat no matter how light they are, but this one does not do that. I am going top use this for winter golf as a layering piece. I normally wear a medium and this one I ordered a large so I can put a fleece underneath and still swing a golf club - this one is spot on. find a layer that can work for golf and keep you warm is a rare find. This one is super versatile.

Keeps me warm in the 30s easily with just a normal shirt and a sweater. With real layers I have been able to walk approx 30 minutes round trip in the low 20s and strong winds. It ’s very warm and also gives you that psychological warmth boost of a fat, cozy puffer. The length is just right if you need a big outermost layer but don ’ t want a full parka length. I am normally between S and M for most things and a S easily fits me even with a chunky sweater. The two internal mesh pockets are clutch.

This is my first puffy jacket since the 90 ’s with my Starter Jacket. I kinda never liked them until I moved to a colder climate and saw other people wearing this brand and I just really dug the way they fit. I admit, I was a Cotopaxi virgin. The usual high - end brands seemed great so it was n't until recently that I decided to venture out and try one of these more colorful alternatives. I must say that I am impressed! The main things that set this jacket apart was that it wears much lighter for a larger jacket and the outer shell is softer to the touch and less stiff feeling. Also, I just came back from a dog walk and the hood was great - good vision, light, stayed in place. It runs a little longer than the others which I am finding I like as well. I appreciate there some color options outside the usual basics which is fun. Side note, I bought my father a vest and I swear he has not taken it off. I 've only had this jacket for about a month. I 'm 6'2 '' /175, wiry and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Right. Anyway, I usually wear the jacket to walk the dog at 5: 30 am and it's been upper 30's. The jacket is super light and blocks the wind very well as long as you cinch around the bottom. I like it to fit a little roomy, but I could easily fit into a medium, which is unusual for me. I 'm typically a large. I have n't seen the jacket perform in the rain or snow yet, but have no doubt it will do extremely well. I used the hood once on a windy night and it kept my neck and head very warm. I 've also worn the jacket over just a t - shirt when it was about 40 and it kept me warm. Everyone has their own cold tolerances, but I enjoy being warm and usually need a good jacket to achieve that. The only semi - negative with this jacket is the zipper, which seems a little fragile. It gets hung up at the bottom and does n't release until you pull with the other hand. That said, it's working fine. There are plenty of other jackets that are probably as warm and pretty light for less money. I splurged on this and enjoy the light weight. Get the jacket if you wan na treat yourself.
