I have the altra gators and( not just this shoe but others) the laces do n't go far enough towards to toes so you ca n't use the lace hook on the gator. I 'll admit that I have always thought Altra shoes were not for me. Between the squared off toe box and the zero drop DNA; I just never gave them a chance. That all changed when they came out with the Experience collection and the move to a mid- drop ALTernative. What a beautiful shoe! I was very excited to give this one a opportunity as ince i needed a shoe for runnable trails along with dirt/gravel paths. Sizing for me was absolutely perfect, I ordered 10. 5 as always and hold and toe box spacing is excellent. I will have to play around with lacing tightness to figure out that best heel hold but that's the case with most shoes imo. The midsole is incredible and I 'm sure it will take on the abuse well, the bounce and propulsion is entirely new for me, I have never experienced something like this before. It would be a waste to use this for easy/slow runs since the rocker and midsole are clearly for running at faster paces.

I have been a long time Hoka Stinson wearer for hiking but the soles do n't hold up well for Grand Canyon and slick rock hiking. I decided to try the Olympus 6's and have been very pleased. The Vibram soles are grippy and durable with the same plush cushioning that I enjoyed with the Hokas. The Olympus runs about 1/2 smaller than the Hokas which caused the hassle of sending back a pair. There was a break in period for the cushioned heel but felt much better after a week. I 'm wearing them for a rim to rim later this month and if they do well with that, I 'm hooked.

I 'm an Altra purist and have been for 3 or 4 years. I have road and trail styles, but with the Olympus 6, Altra just outdid themselves. I purchased these for trail running on small gravel/dirt trails around the beach trails in the hills of the SoCal coast. Nothing technical, just a good sturdy and grippy shoe. The structure and protection level in the Olympus 6 is perfect- the toe has protection and the edge and bite of the sole works great. I was also looking for cushion and I would say the cushion is cloud- like. The reduction in fatigue from long runs is really noticed. The shoe is sturdy, but the comfort is level 10. By far my favorite 10+ miler trail shoe I 've ever worn. I have to order another pair as these quickly became my dailies. I work in film production and I have lived in these since I purchased them. Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

These are great hybrid trail shoes. They do a lot of things pretty well for mild- moderate terrain and feel like a road shoe with minimal break in. I found the Caldera 7 to be too boxy and the Cascadia 18 made my third toe go numb. I have worn the Divide for training and in road- to- trail races in good weather conditions and in the rain. The only bummer was performance in red clay- but I was able to release the debris quickly enough with a quick scrape on a tree stump and keep moving. The lugs aren ’ t aggressive, but this IS a hybrid shoe and red clay cakes on everything. The Divide 5 was an improvement on the 4 with more added cushioning and I keep both models in my rotation. True to size as other Brooks( Glycerin 21, Ghost 15, Trace 3). I hope Brooks keeps this model as it fills a nice sweet spot for its versatility.

Use them as hiking and backpacking shoes, 3- 4 days of light use to break them in, than a 3 day backpacking trip with substantial load, few days later a SAR trip, and a day hike. Great shoes. No hot spots, great room for my wide feet and toes and nice support. I usually wear boots with my heavy pack so was pleasantly surprised. Seem little tight first through the middle of my feet first, especially around the top, but went away after couple days of light wear. Only issue is the loop on the back. Could be slightly bigger to allow a finger to go through, would allow shoes to be put on a lot easier.

Love these shoes!! Great cushion especially under heal. Construction seems solid. Tread pattern is very “ grippy ” and fairly aggressive. Fairly wide toe box is comfortable but not over sized. These shoes fit well as the size indicates. They don ’ t seem to run big or small. Just about right. Also love the detail in the cacti by eyelets. The print inside the shoe, and they even mirrored the Nike logo on the sole so the orientation is correct when leaving footprint!!!

I ’ ve had these for a few months now and I have put over 300 miles on them during that time. Both the sole/rubber as well as the upper show no noticeable signs of wear, which isn ’ t normal for me as a pretty heavy runner compared to most. They have been an excellent purchase and I would definitely buy them again!

These are sturdy and comfortable. The structure of the support is really nice and ideal, if you have a broad foot. The fit around the bridge is also really comfortable and the tongue has just then right amount of thickness. The eyelets appear nice an sturdy too which really helps when having to adjust the laces. I like that the 4 feels light and I can run without feeling weighted down. The laces are functional, where they do n't come untied. I do wish the colors were n't as light because they get dirty so easily. I did buy a half size up from my normal size because I am running a half in these and need more room.

[ These shoes are probably the best pair of tennis shoes I ’ ve ever owned! Most shoes leave my feet feeling tired and achy after wearing them all day, but not these. They ’ re cushioned for comfort and the support they give is like no other. The toe box is nice and wide, leaving plenty of room so my feet don ’ t feel cramped. I feel very balanced and stabilized wearing them. You can tell quality work went into making them, all the way to the little details. The tongue is sewn in, so no sliding from side to side. Even the shoelaces have ridged edges to prevent them from untying. The sole tread is very “ beefy ” and are fantastic for walking on uneven or slippery surfaces. I ’ m already planning on getting another pair as soon as these wear out!
