This pack is the perfect trail companion! I 've gotten to take it out both XC skiing and on some winter hikes and it's the perfect size for an extra layer, snacks, first aid kit, and any other gear you might need on the trail. I love the magnet strip on the water bladder that nicely holds the bladder straw in space when not using it, and easy to drink out of while on the trail. The pockets are well thought out and easily accessible. I do wish the side water bottle pockets were a little larger to fit my nalgene, but definitely not a dealbreaker since it has the integrated bladder.

As a smaller sized gal, I 've struggled with daypacks feeling too big and bulky. The 18L was my goldilocks and is such a great size for a casual hike or wandering around town! There are not a lot of pockets, but I actually prefer a simple pack. My favorite part of the pack is the chest and hip straps that make the bag easily adjustable.

The Vantage 20L has completely replaced my old commuter bag. It's a good looking bag with smart organization to keep my laptop and essentials tidy. I live in the PNW, so the tough, water- resistant fabric is a lifesaver – my stuff stays bone dry regardless of the weather. Plus, I love knowing this whole bag is made with recycled materials. But what really sold me is the surprising capacity. At first, I thought it might be too small for weekend adventures. Yet, it easily handles a change of clothes, tech gear, and even some snacks for a quick trip. The comfy straps and that sweat- wicking material are a game- changer, especially when I 'm out exploring – you barely notice you 're carrying it. I 've used it cycling 10+ miles at a time, and worn it scrambling up a cliffside. Incredibly versatile.

I got this backpack to prepare for my 3 month trip in the Caribbean and it ’s has been so helpful to say the least. I have an overpacking problem but all of the different compartments and pockets made it so I could fit everything I needed. The support on the backside of it helps so much with my back pain and doesn ’ t make me feel exhausted at the end of a busy travel day. Furthermore, the top bit comes off as a smaller backpack which was perfect for day trips. The only thing i would change would be the smaller buckles that attach the front pocket to the bag, they were a little weak. However, I don ’ t have any worry they will come undone when I check it at the airport. Overall, this bag has been a HUGE help!! It definitely has made my traveling much easier.

[ This Ampex 65L transcend backpack is quite impressive. It checks all high- end features like- waterproof material, little pockets for essentials is awesome. It provides really decent support for the frame on the back and the rest on the hips, rather than on upper back and shoulders. This is a great backpack for the price. I am giving it 5 stars because it's everything you would want and need in a pack. The middle zipper opening is an amazing feature that allows you to get into your items without having to pull everything out from the top like a conventional pack. One downside are the hip straps. I feel they could be slightly larger for the size of pack, I had some discomfort but nothing terribly bad, likely had more to do with me being out of shape as well. I recommended this to a buddy and he has one and uses it quite often like myself.

I went backpacking in Linville Gorge, NC for three days, and honestly, my best choice was the 65L backpack. It fit what I needed and had plenty of room to spare. The support to keep my back from sweating, the elastic exterior pockets, and the included small daypack are my favorite details. I would change the side straps for the rigid mat to be a little longer, and the phone holder to be more elastic, since my S23 Ultra does n't fit. I highly recommend this backpack without a doubt.

[ The Transcend 50L Hiking Backpack: A Versatile Companion for the Trail The Transcend 50L Hiking Backpack is a formidable choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a durable, versatile, and comfortable backpack for their adventures. Having used this backpack on several hiking trips, I can confidently say it's a reliable companion for both day hikes and extended treks.** Durability( 5/5):** The Transcend 50L is built to last. Its rugged materials and reinforced stitching make it resilient against wear and tear. Even after traversing through rough terrains, the backpack showed minimal signs of damage, a testament to its outstanding durability.** Capacity( 4/5):** With a 50- liter capacity, this backpack strikes a great balance between being spacious enough to hold all your essentials and compact enough to prevent overpacking. The main compartment easily accommodates clothing, camping gear, and food supplies, while the numerous pockets and attachments allow for organized storage of smaller items.** Comfort( 4/5):** The padded shoulder straps and back panel provide decent comfort, especially during long hikes. The airflow system helps keep your back cool and minimizes discomfort caused by sweat. However, some users might find the hip belt padding a bit lacking for heavier loads, and it could be improved for even more comfort during extended treks.** Features( 4/5):** The Transcend 50L boasts various thoughtful features, such as multiple gear loops, hydration reservoir compatibility, and adjustable straps for securing your gear. It also includes a rain cover, which is a valuable addition for keeping your belongings dry in inclement weather. The only downside is that some users may find the zippers a bit tricky to operate, especially when the bag is fully loaded.** Price( 5/5):** The Transcend 50L offers great value for its price point. It competes well with more expensive hiking backpacks on the market while maintaining a reasonable cost. In summary, the Transcend 50L Hiking Backpack is a reliable choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a durable and reasonably priced backpack. Its versatile design, decent comfort, and excellent durability make it suitable for a wide range of hiking adventures. While it might not be the absolute best in every aspect, it delivers a commendable overall performance that will serve you well on the trails.

Great day pack. Pockets in all the right places for convenience items. Not having an internal frame, saves the weight I was looking for. Main pack pockets are right sized. Hydration sleeve allows for a variety of connection styles by using a Velcro strap. Comfortable shoulder straps with phone and bottle/other stretch fabric pockets. Waist belt has convenience quick access pockets and useful mini daisy chain rows, nice for small caribiners to connect small stuff. Lots of details others tend to leave out.

It's a great backpack. I got it large and it was actually smaller than I thought it would be. It definitely wo n't go over your head if you think it's those types of backpacks. You can reach the water bottle if you are able to reach for it normally on the side pocket. It looks nice and the clips are easy to snap on and off to remove the pack. The pockets all are great and the small pocket on the strap is pretty convenient and you can see through it a little bit to know what's in it too.

I used this pack on a winter 7 miles, 3, 200' elevation hike breaking trail most of the way. I packed from the bottom up: belay parka in a compression sack, burly goretex shell jacket, 2 one liter nalgene bottles, extra gloves, med/ emergency kit( about 1L in size), 2, 500 calories of snacks, nanopuff jacket. Two headlamps and keys in the internal zip pocket, map and microspikes in the external zip pocket. Two 16oz waterbottles in each side pocket for 3L total, neither side waterbottle fell out while butt sliding down the trail. Samsung Galaxy S22 fit nicely in either chest pocket, chapstick in the bottom elastic pockets. 25 '' snowshoes on the S/M pack were easy to put on a take off with a sling. I did n't use the zip pocket next to the waterbottle holder but it definitely seems like it could be useful. Used the double sternum strap( very comfortable!) to clip my gloves to the bottom strap and tuck them under the top so no snow fell in. I carried the pack around for 15 minutes with 30lbs of rice and beans in the back, it carries the weight well but you can feel items through the back if you do n't pack right. No soreness the day after hiking. I plan to take this out on longer day hikes- presidential range, great range where I might want extra gear but do n't want a 40+L pack. No signs of wear after a single hike getting snagged by trees, seems like it will be durable. Sizing: I typically wear my packs at 18 '' torso, the S/M mens is a perfect fit, I had about 1 '' extra waistband with a 28 '' waist. I bought the Deuter SpeedLite 28 womens but it was terribly tiny all over, this is everything I wanted that pack to be and better. Overall: Very well organized, lots of attachment points, lightweight, comfortable, and moves well with the wearer. New go to pack, well worth the price.

[ I got this pack for longer day hikes, and specifically for an upcoming trip. Have n't used it for said trip yet, but have used it on local hikes to get a good feel for it and it checks all my boxes. It's uncomplicated( just one main compartment with some exterior storage) and I love the padded hipbelt. Also like the fact that there's compatibility for a water bladder. I love how tiny this packs up- I take it on every trip. The fact that it's waterproof means I can take it on river trips or Italian boardwalks and never worry about my belongings surviving rainstorms or splashes. My only complaint is that it's just one giant open pocket, but the cinch straps on the front make it easy to decrease the size of the pack when carrying smaller loads.

The Ultra- Sil Dry Day Pack is uber lightweight for a dry bag/ backpack combo. It packs up into its own small 3 '' carry bag so it's great and small to keep in a purse or laptop bag for availability on the go. The drypack carries a lot and feels sturdy on your bag. It does n't bounce around even when half full. When full, you still hardly notice it's on your back. We used it for long hikes and to keep my camera dry in the case of a rain shower. It worked well! At the top of the pack is a buckle that allows you to roll down the top of the pack and buckle it, thus keeping moisture out. This particular bag is slightly harder to pack into its own carry bag overall, unlike the Ultra- Sil Daypack. The top buckle is harder to repack into the carry bag. I found myself packing it 75% of the way in and letting the carabiner and buckle hang outside of the carry bag. Not ideal but liveable for such a lightweight, capable dry bag. Outside of the drypack are stretchable tie- downs that can hold a jacket or other items outside of the bag. These are good for jacket but I 'd be careful with heavier items that could slip out.

I love it and would absolutely recommend it. So nice to have when traveling and you do not know what the weather or activity will be, or if you may need a spare bag. I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

As an ultralight Backpacker, I leave my honest review here. First, I have to say that I was excited when I got this backpack; the fabrics and the implementation are outstanding excellent job Black Diamond. The fast backpack idea with those extra shoulder straps makes this backpack ideal. Not only is this one waterproof or almost, but it is merely one of the best backpacks I ever owned. Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. If I had a bigger one, I could guarantee it would never fit inside.

I bought my first Gregory backpack in the 1980s and have given it hard use ever since. After 30+ years, I thought it was time to get a new Gregory backpack. I am extremely pleased with my new Stout 70. It fits me well and can haul the loads I need for extended trips.

Just received my brand new Stout 70 from rei. A tad disappointed they didn ’ t have the green or orange, but all in all I ’ m excited to put this to use. It ’s purpose will be to get me thru a 100 mile trek I ’ ll be doing for an autoimmune charity, and I imagine by my first impressions that it will do just fine. Plenty of pockets, included rain cover, and comfy straps. Rei helped me fit it and it seems to be quite functional compared to my old external frame pack from the 90 ’s.

I love everything about this pack from being compact to it ’s easy access pockets and straight forward design. I have the 75L Stout and I have packed this beast up to 35lbs and have had no discomfort on extended backpacking trips. Highly recommend!

This is one of Gregory's basic packs, essentially a Baltoro with fewer bells and whistles. I needed a 70 liter pack for a 12 day Philmont Trek, and it survived 2 years of shakedown hikes, and 2 more years of `` regular '' weekend camping use. Works well, and great bang for the buck if you are patient and watch for sales.

We bought this for my son as we got more into backpacking. This pack is versatile and handles his gear nicely. It isn ’ t unusual for him to strap the sleeping pad to the bottom of the pack. We use light gear, but definitely not all ultralight ultra compact gear. Durability is not a concern. I have a larger 80L pack and am considering getting this same pack for a more compact carry. One of your sales people on the phone recommended it after I tried several other models and sizes. Could n't be happier. One of the zippers broke before my trip but it was n't key. This backpack is very big and sturdy and it can definitely hold a lot of whatever you need. I like that is has additional smaller pockets on the handles and straps to keep small things like wallets, cash, or cards dry and separate from the rest of the items you 're holding. the arm and waist straps are seemingly strong and easy to adjust to proper fit, and they hold the pack in place very securely. It's also nice looking and the easy to remove/attach waterproof cover is an additional plus.

This is a lightweight backpack that I feel is a good balance of capacity and comfort. Lightweight but durable fabric. It has buckles that can keep the backpack more compact, or unclipped, can expand to the full size. Has many pockets and comes with a rain shield in a bottom pocket to cover the whole backpack in the rain. The chest and waist clips to secure the backpack are comfortable too. This backpack also has a central zipper down the middle which would help you reach anything inside easily, even in the bottom of the pack.

This is my first day pack with internal frame. It makes it very comfortable to wear, balancing the weight down onto my hips( even unbelted and even wearing it on one shoulder) and the frame with mesh back keeps my back cooler even in 93 degree humid weather. The pockets are n't ideal. The top front pocket is very small( and if you put a heavy phone there it is unbalanced). The internal( water or laptop) pocket is deep- so anything small put in there is lost to posterity( beware). The water bottle pockets on the side fit a smaller water bottle easily but tougher with anything larger. I used it as a carry on( personal item) and no complaints from the flight attendants about how it fit under the seat in front of me, though the top did stick out a little and I found it to be a bit in the way of stretching my lets. It fit a ton of stuff- I had an umbrella and rain jacket, wallet, cosmetic size bag with electronic cables and earbuds, cosmetic bag with actual cosmetics, book, magazine, two journals, an airport shopping bag( small), and small cosmetic bag with meds in there. There is a helpful clip to attach your neck pillow! It also has a rain cover in a pouch at the bottom that was very useful in a downpour, if a little hard to extract and put in place on the fly.

I ’ ve been using this backpack for a while now and I have to say, one of its great features is the smart design that balances comfort and functionality. The padded shoulder straps make it really comfortable to carry, even when it ’s fully loaded. I also love the multiple compartments — it ’s easy to keep everything organized, from my laptop to small accessories. The material feels durable and water- resistant, so I don ’ t have to worry about sudden rain. Overall, it ’s a stylish, practical, and reliable backpack that works perfectly for both daily use and travel.

[ Been doing intermittent 3- 7 day hikes along North Country Trail. Decided my back country hunting Kifaru Pack was just too heavy for just a week of trail use. Wanted the lightest pack that still had good straps, belt and suspension system. Went with Osprey because of their reputation and couldn ’ t be happier. It drops almost 5 pounds off my other pack just by switching. The suspension system and straps are second to none. If you like( or can get away with) a single opening and compartment main bag this is it. I tried out lighter packs but once loaded up with 20+ lbs of gear their straps and hip belt were much to be desired. This bag just floats on you back making any load “ feel ” 5 lbs lighter. It is ideal for 20- 40lbs loads. If you are packing lighter maybe look at an ultralight, if carting much over 40 pounds look at the sturdier/ heavier options. Everyone else THIS is the pack. At 4 lbs even on my scale for the l/xl it is lighter than almost any other pack in its class. It is almost in the ultralight realm. Fit for LG/XL was square in the middle of adjustment( I am 6 ’ 2 ” 210 lbs, and have longer legs slightly shorter torso compared with men of similiar height). Great BUY! Great Bag! Carries perfectly no one does the 2, suspension system and hip belt like Osprey.

I originally had the Atmos 65 AG a few years ago and changed it out for the Exos 58 when Osprey offered the LT. The torso adjustment is the same as the Exos which works fine. The hip belt adjustment has changed which again works for me. Access to the bottom of the pack t to though a zipper has been eliminated but I never used that anyway. With the weight coming in at just over 4 pounds in nice especially know I have the comfort of the Atmos on my back.

If you ’ re going out for a day or two, any old backpack will pretty much do. [ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. The Kalmia offered great space/ volume per weight, and fit me so well! The adjustable backplate offered needed personalization for fit, and the padding protected me from hotspots without being bulky. The rotating shoulder straps made a difference; I could feel the pack moving with me, instead of against me. The Kalmia 50 is my new go to pack! While this pack offers some personalization, it is n't the pack for everyone. I highly recommend trying the pack on before purchasing, and walking around a bit with some weight added to see how she rides. Overall: well made, great weight to capacity ratio, helpful personalization through various adjustment and tension points, moves with the hiker.

Superb quality everywhere and durable. Superb comfort. A few nip picking things I may do different is add an umbrella holder on the shoulder straps with molle webbing that I have seen done and is quite neat. Also the stow and go trek pole holders. Also I noticed the lid on top has 4 little molle like webbing straps and that is it. It would be much better if there was 2 more in the middle and all 4 were horizontal? and not diagonal? so you can attach a shock cord or straps to hold a blanket, rain coat or etc. As they are now you ca n't really do much with them especially with only 4 spaced so far apart and facing diagonally. But not a big deal and not worth a point deduction as this pack is exactly what I needed since I am almost 60 and it is so comfortable and adjustable and just hugs the body with nice air ventilation also. Once you load it right and adjust it accordingly is when you really notice this compared to a cheaper pack that just breaks you down and wets your clothes in sweat. I will never buy a cheap pack again as it is better for me to go to a premium one like this Osprey and spend a little extra for one that is made the way it should be to achieve the comfort, adjustability, and durability level needed to enjoy ones self when out and about other wise I would just be miserable and broke down with a bad back and knees. Trust me at my age its should be easy to understand.

[ Thank you so much Osprey!!! You really came clutch with this backpack, a great replacement to my older backpack, I am now ready for my next adventure:))))

I am an occasional backpacker and after 15 years of hiking my old Osprey Atmos had finally had enough.. the materials were starting to fall apart and after Osprey had repaired it once a couple years ago it was ready for replacement. Osprey replaced my old Atmos 65 with this Atmos LT 50 as part of the All Mighty Guarantee... the downsize and the simpler LT model were my choice and they honored it for me. Let me tell you this thing is WORLDS better than my 15 year old pack was even new! Stronger materials are used in areas that wore quickly on my old pack, the minimal design and smaller size is perfect for my gear that has lightened over the years and though this pack is slightly heavier than my old one it carries the weight MUCH better with the AG suspension, and feels lighter somehow. I am beyong thrilled with this newly designed Atmos as I tried the Exos and found it too minimal for me as I am not a weight weenie( although fully packed with food I am a smidge under 20lbs). This LT model is the perfect step up from the ultra light packs for folks like me that have lightened up over the years, but still want to be comfortable hauling a little extra. The one thing I will miss is the treking pole straps to quickly store them while scrambling up rocks or for road walks, but i made the decision to lose that and its a minimal sacrifice that I could potentially even fasion something for on my own so its not a big loss. I love this pack! Oh and the colors look better in person, not as pukey green, lol.

And he loves it! Its very well ventilated, light weight, and has great access for things you need to reach for regularly. It did n't take much research to settle on the Atmos 50. This thing is a beast and could handle anything I threw at it or in it during my hike. The best feature is the one everybody already knows well: the airspace and ergonomic curvature that perfectly forms to your back. Furthermore, this distributes weight very efficiently, allowing your hips to bear more of the burden and relieve your shoulders. Other features I love include the waist pouches where I stored quick access items like my multi- tool and hand sanitizer, the included rain fly for quick rain protection, and the angular water bottle holders on each side where I had quick and convenient access to my one liter Smartwater bottles. I even made regular use of the two pockets in the brain portion. The interior dimensions are sufficient to fit a bear vault of the largest size turned sideways. There are straps on the bottom end of the pack that frequently held my tent, though you could also extend the top straps for the brain and store your tent under there too. The shoulder straps are thick and comfortable. I was able to attach a phone pouch on one and regularly attached my umbrella to the other. The materials are rugged. Despite all the use and abuse, scraping on trees and rocks, repetitive motion abrasion, weather exposure, and slinging around, the pack held up well without failure for 2, 000 miles. There are probably adjustments I could have made to reduce weight, as this comes in at 4. 2 lb. This while most thru- hiking packs in the ultralight category are less than half of that. With Osprey you 're getting two extra pounds of comfort, in a sense. Alternatively, they do have the Exos 58 that weighs less. Also, regarding sizing, I think osprey could improve by separating them out into four: S, M, L, and XL. Other lesser known UL brands do this, so I would think osprey could handle it. This is my only real `` complaint ''. All around, Osprey is, in my book, the best backpack maker in existence.

[ The atmos ag 50/65 is THE BEST backpacking pack out there hands down. I personally use the 50 L and it is the perfect size for 1- 3 night trips. It is extremely comfortable with around 30lbs of gear. I love the sleeping bag pocket on the bottom of the pack, absolute necessity and only a feature on the atmos AG NOT the atmos LT. The removable lid is also a welcome feature when you ’ re trying to go lightweight.

The suspension system was also great, making this a more comfortable backpack. ... Able to make small adjustments very easily while hiking saving time while getting the fit dialed

[ This is a very high- quality product. Carrying heavy loads is really nice with this. I chose black because it appears that the packs appear much brighter in real life than in the photos. Black looks amazing with yellow interwoven threads in the AG area. Just a work of art!

[ Excellent pack with ample room and numerous pockets for gear organization. The focus on comfort and airflow is well worth the investment. Glad that I bought it.

[ This bag is super high quality, you can feel it in the material and just how well it fits to you with the anti gravity technology. There are a good amount of pockets to sperate certain gear but not to many to being useless. The bag is definitely not for ultralight backpackers but is perfect for backpackers who appreciate being comfortable.

[ I 'd been using my old pack for 20 years and just bought the Osprey Atmos 65. I just came back from a five day trip in the Beartooths( Montana) and I was glad to have the new pack. It definitely put the weight on my hips and was much easier on my shoulders than my old pack. The suspension system was also great, making this a more comfortable backpack. It's almost 4 pounds lighter than my previous pack as well. I 've only used it 5 days, so ca n't really comment on the long- term durability. I 've had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders over the past 2 1/2 years so my shoulders appreciated the new pack as well. Very pleased so far.

[ This pack is the perfect size for anything from a weekend to a full week of backpacking. It is very comfortable and can adjust to just about any size. I love all of the added features this pack has, especially the fact it has a large main compartment and then other smaller compartments to fit specialty items. I see see a few reviews about it making a squeaking noise while walking but I have n't noticed that yet.
