[ This is my second pair of Trail Pegasus, and I like it more than the first one:) The Pegasus are a staple for any running enthusiast, but I had n't worn a pair of trail shoes until recently, and I 'm sold. The sole has a lot more grip, which makes these shoes truly `` all- terrain '', both for trail runs but also for every day walks. On top of that, these shoes include Gore- Tex material, making them water resistant( no more excuses not to go for a run in light rain!). They are as comfy as their non- trail Pegasus counterparts, and they have a very similar fit. This color combination has quickly become a favorite for their versatility. As with any Pegasus, I 'd recommend sizing up half a size if you regularly run long distances( 6+ miles). Looking forward to many trail runs over the summer!

[ Wow! These are my new go- to workout shoes. I do everything in them and have experienced no problems during my Zumba, cycling, running, and HIIT workouts. They ’ re super spongy, almost like walking on one of those rubber bouncy floors at the playground. The mesh material keeps them airy and lightweight. They don ’ t have much grip on indoor hard floors but they still get the job done. Outdoors they ’ re great and really flex well with the changing terrain. The curved sole in the back has a unique design and allows for a lot more mobility than a flat shoe. It ’s almost like rocking in a rocking chair! If I could change one tiny thing I would like to have the foam piece on the back heel sit a little higher for more support but it ’s not a big deal at all, just a personal preference. I ’ ve only had these shoes for a short time, but so far I ’ m very impressed. I previously wore the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and loved them, so I was a little hesitant to try something new. The fit and overall feel are similar enough that the transition has been easy, with no significant break- in period for me. I have high arches, a higher instep, and toes that like room to spread when I walk. I also tend to notice pressure points and fit issues quickly. These shoes provide a nice balance of stability and flexibility without feeling overly rigid or overly cushioned. They feel secure through the midfoot while still allowing natural foot movement, which is important for my walking/running style. For sizing reference, I wore a size 8 in my Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and chose an 8. 5 in these. I ’ ve experienced no rubbing, hot spots, or heel issues so far, and they ’ ve been comfortable from the first wear. The traction and overall ride feel well suited for walking on a mix of pavement, road shoulders, and uneven terrain. My only wish is that there were more color options available when I ordered. I recently noticed the customization option and would have loved that feature from the start. In fact, I ’ m already considering picking up a second pair as a backup because I like them that much and hope Nike keeps this model around for a long time.

I needed some hiking shoes to hike North Cascades National Park in Seattle. Never had hiking shoes before, but hated that they looked so clunky. I saw that trail running shoes work well for hikes as well and allow your feet to stay flexible. I saw these for sale and gave it a try. Wow. It genuinely provided so much support for hiking and light jogging. I hiked through brush, rocks, gravel, tree roots, grass, and other terrains. I did n't slip a single time and the shoes really cushioned each step. Safe to say, I would have been doomed with regular running shoes. After hiking a few days, the shoes still looked new! They were a bit dusty from the trail itself, though. Treads on the bottom looked new, did n't see any scratches or gouges, laces were not frayed. I got the Gore- Tex variant, so at the end of the hike, I walked into the shallow end of a lake and wiped them off, no water got in. I half- sized up. My regular shoe size is a 9, but I went 9. 5 because I wore thicker socks and appreciate the toe room during hiking as I do n't want my toes banging the front of the shoe. Feet also swell when hiking. All in all, I hiked around 20 miles on this trip as well as walking around city areas, so probably closer to 30 miles. I had no issues whatsoever and would recommend them. If Nike wants to sponsor me for this review, I 'm all ears because they 've won me over with these purposeful shoes.

Though for years I stayed away from `` maximalist '' shoes, Saucony's take with the latest Hurricane has changed my mind in a big way. Incredibly supportive in all the right ways for my miserably flat and over pronated feet( even the subtle medial angle is perfectly designed)... [ This is great. Honestly, when I first wore it out it was a little too tight for me and I thought I needed a bigger size. Since it is a waterproof shoe, you can expect it to be a little bit tighter obviously to help keep water out during rainy training days. The second time I wore them they felt much better and didn ’ t feel as tight. I normally go half a size or a full size up for running shoes. I ’ m normally a 9, but did a 9. 5. The cushion on these shoes is amazing. They have the new zoom cushion which is super comfortable and you can wear out for long periods of time. I did a few recovery runs in this shoe during the rain storms we have been having and they did great on concrete with rain, road with rain, and some softer terrain with muddy surfaces. I didn ’ t feel like I would slip or anything while running- the grip on these shoes is amazing.

[ The Women's Nike Vomero 18 GTX really impressed me with its comfort and versatility. I have trained with it mostly on the road, where the cushioning and responsiveness have made for a smooth, comfortable run. But what surprised me the most was how well it transitioned off- road. Even on slick trails and uneven ground, the traction held up and gave me confidence to keep my pace steady. The Gore- Tex is also a huge plus. My work schedule does n't always provide the flexibility or the luxury to take rainy days off, plus sometimes I get caught in unexpected showers. With the Vomero 18 GTX my feet stayed dry, and I did n't lose any of the support or comfort. I never felt weighed down, and the shoe moved naturally with me no matter the surface. [ The Nike Vomero 18 Gtx have quickly become my go- to running shoes. They offer incredible support with a noticeable bounce in every stride, and the rocker design makes heel- to- toe transitions feel smooth and effortless. [ The Cascadia 20 surprised me. I tried some Cascadias many years ago in my search for trail running shoes, and they did not work out. They were too narrow and not at all comfortable to me. Brooks has made some great updates though! The Cascadia 20 was comfortable right out of the box. I have worn them for short and long trail runs, and they remained just as comfortable at the end as the beginning. These shoes have ample cushion but not so much that it makes you feel unsteady on the unstable terrain of the trails. My feet were well- protected from sticks and rocks poking them. My biggest complaint about any running shoes is how narrow the toe box is, but I was so happy to find these had great space there. Additionally, the soles provided excellent traction on technical trails, both wet and dry. They performed well on trails made of grass, rocks, roots, creek crossings, wet bridges. The Cascadia 20 will have a permanent place in my trail shoe rotation.

[ I 've really enjoyed the Cascadia 20s. They 're comfortable, supportive, and have quickly become one of my favorite trail shoes. The traction is reliable on dirt, gravel, and rocky trails, and I felt confident hiking in them. They were n't the best on wet sand, but that's pretty typical for most of my trail shoes. They were also a little squeaky during the first few hours of wear, but that went away after breaking them in. The stability is excellent, and I always felt secure on uneven terrain. The cushioning provides a good balance of comfort and protection, keeping my feet comfortable on longer hikes while still shielding them from rocks and rough trails. Overall, the Cascadia 20s are a dependable, comfortable trail shoe that I 'd definitely keep reaching for on future hikes.

[ The Cascadia 20 gripped like glue to every surface I encountered. They were very engineered and well made. I never felt my foot slip in any direction. The construction was solid especially on rocky terrain I encountered while hiking in Colorado. Whether it was rocks, gravel, or wet surfaces this shoes could handle it all. My hikes range from 3 miles to 10 and I could definitely withstand this structure for long distances versus other hiking shoe brands in the past. I didn ’ t feel like I needed to break these shoes in to go the distance. My biggest wow factor was crossing creeks with my kids( normally a lot of foot slip) and I barely had to use my pole to stabilize due to remarkable stability.

I like lightweight, comfortable shoes for all- around casual wear. For me, foot- bed cushioning is a negative. I 'm 78, still active and working daily. I can wear these walking, driving, commuting, and all day in an informal research lab environment. I wear something even lighter in daily stair- climbing exercise. Easily washable is also a plus. I would prefer less visual embellishment in darker shades-- plain and simple appearance would help me NOT stand out where others are wearing more traditional shoes in work and social situations.

Loved the previous versions of the Speedgoat, but the 6 felt “ off ” to me, and had durability issues so I switched over to a different brand. Luckily the Speedgoat 7 fixes many of my previous complaints and is a light, cushioned trail shoe that still provides a good ground feel. I have long, square shaped feet and the toe box felt slightly narrow; sizing up made the whole shoe too big, so I stuck with my traditional size and did a heel lock lace tie which helped keep the foot in place!

After running through two pairs of the original Long Sky shoe, my expectations were high for the 2nd version. Kudos to Merrell, LS2 meets and exceeds the performance of the original version. These shoes are light for the support you get underfoot, have excellent traction from Vibram, and I appreciate the added gaiter attachment points. I 'm about 200 miles into my current pair and so far no noticeable points of excessive wear+tear. If I had to be critical, I wish there was a little more padding in back for my achilles, but it has n't been a problem so far, just something I would change if I could. Great shoe, eager to see how many miles I can get out of them.

These shoes are incredible! They 're light so you 'll feel quick and agile in the trail and they also have great traction for grip on technical trails. The draining system on these shoes is great too, going through water and mud the Long Sky 2s drain out quickly so they stay light through your run. I raced a trail marathon with 9000 feet of gain, some technical ridge running, and some mud and slop in it and these shoes held up well the whole way!

I brought the Long Sky 2 as one of my shoes for a 120 hour ultra. The race involved 150 miles and 50, 000 feet of vert. The Long Sky's were the only shoe I needed for comfort, light weight, breathability, and trust. Trust was important with steep ascents and descents. The Long Sky's give me a sense of stability without sacrificing manuverability in extreme environments. This is quite easily the best trail shoe I 've ever worn.

These are an excellent choice, the foam offers plenty of protection in rocky terrain but its not so high that you feel unstable. Very first hike with these, I came across snow and mud and am pretty happy with how it held up, great traction and no wet feet. First hard effort in these was an 11 mile trail race in the Adirondacks. Weight is superb and grip was more than adequate through a mix of singletrack, mud, roots and rock slick with humidity. I 'd last run this course in a pair of VJ Sparks and these were better in nearly every regard. Race went great. The fit is just a bit long and I did kick the toe a few times- if purchasing again I 'm 50- 50 staying with my size or going down a half. Only other change I 'd make is a millimeter or two more of foam- barely more, but these did feel a little bit harsh at low 5/min downhill miles. That said, they ARE race shoes. Great job Merrell.

After an initial 10 mile trail run, I took this bad boys out to Spartan Poconos outisde of Palmerton, PA. This was about 6. 5 miles with close to 3k ft of evelation gain, and some of the trails were extremely rocky. As long as the shoe laces were snug, they hugged my feet super well, even on the extremely steep downhills. They shed water like a champ, and honestly I do not see a single sign of wear. I was worried I would get a hole from all those rocks, but nothing. I 'll be taking them to an 18 mile trail in Washington state in two weeks and very much looking forward to it!

So far I have about 65 miles on my pair of morphlites. They are one of the best shoes I have ever owned for the price. The upper feels very durable and substantial without being hot or stiff. The sole provides a good amount of cushion under foot. I have noticed minimal compression lines in the sole within my 65 miles on them. It appears larger in stack height than they actually are which if you are missing minimal stack shoes in the sea of high stacks these are an awesome option. The tread is not Vibram which keeps the cost lower but it is still a nice rubber. The lug pattern and shorter lug depth makes them great on roads but, in my opinion they really shine on gravel and fire roads. They have more than enough trail cred that you can take them on some beginner trail running too. I will say that when I attempted to take them on so real trail runs they definitely did not feel great but, that is certainly not what they are designed to do. I give kudos to merrell for coming out with a solid hybrid trail/pavement shoe.

The toe box is wide enough for stability but not so wide the foot slips. The material is breathable yet durable. The heel area is supportive but didn ’ t cause blisters. [ The Nike ACG Zegama were an exciting pair of sneakers to test. I am longtime fan of the ACG collection, mainly for it's forward and functional design. These trail sneakers embody both of those fully. I wore these on the trail routes near my home and they full adapted to the uneven and sometimes slippery terrain. I 've worn them on dry runs and just after rainfall, and the footprint/sole of this sneaker felt like it grasped the earth well in both circumstances. The elastic ankle detail hugged my foot just enough for added stabilization. I could really feel the vibram sole and full cushioning which I prefer when trail running. I appreciated the non slip grip the laces had on the upper, they felt secure the duration of each run. But my main takeaway was the width of the sole at the ball of the foot. It really felt different compared to other sneakers I run on trail with. This felt like when my foot stuck the ground, it was fully connecting, giving me more confidence and security with each step. The shoe was comfortable and responsive all around.

Even though it ’s not labeled as a wide shoe, it still worked well for my feet and provided solid arch support. My only recommendation would be to wear high socks and avoid wearing them barefoot. I made the mistake of doing a 2- mile uphill run without socks and ended up with blisters, so good socks definitely make a difference.
