This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. If you 're looking for a basic matte black helmet, this is it. Purchased the S/M and it fits her head perfectly. Strapping the chin strap in place is a struggle though. Coach suggested leaving the chin strap on at all times and just stretching the strap out( when putting the helmet on. Much easier and quicker this way. The chin strap itself is just an elastic band though.
