It seems that any time I 've gone skiing this year the temps have been in the negatives( Fahrenheit) and evidently there's not a whole lot the helmet is protecting, since I forgot to wear my hat underneath it for a while, but it was a good hour before I was wondering why my ears were starting to get cold. Totally awesome helmet! The Giro Jackson helmet is super lightweight and warm. Even with my large dome I can wear this helmet comfortably for hours. With just a balaclava underneath I felt totally fine at temperatures that would make Jack Frost shiver. Outdoor Tech Chips Headphones also pair nicely with this helmet.

[ There's no such thing as a safe, light, and inexpensive helmet... you ca n't have all three. So, this helmet might not be the most inexpensive but it is a name brand from a trusted retailer( I will not take my chance on other sites where they may try to pass a counterfeit), it is light and comfortable, warm, and looks good. The vents direct air to the inside of my goggles to help with preventing fog. My hand hit the dial on back which loosened the helmet only once by accident. The ratcheting system worked for me with no issues after that at all,... despite what other reviewers said. I 'd recommend it.
