I bought this reel( 2500 size) and paired it with a Lew's Custom Pro Speed Stick( got in on sale for$ 90) and am using with 8 lb test fluoro. I use this set up for lightweight and finesse type fishing such as skipping senkos under docks, drop shot fishing or throwing weightless texas rigs around. Will say this reel feels really smooth and can cast a great distance without much weight. Skipping under docks is way easier with this reel also because of how smooth it is. It is definitely an upgrade from the Lew's Mach Crush spinning combo and the Lew's Mach 2 spinning combo I have. My dad is trying to get back into fishing and plan to buy him this as his first reel as well. Definitely recommend.

I 've always been a Shimano go to for years, and always will be, but was looking for a 2000 light reel for jigging and Shimano just does not have it in this price range with a larger high gear for more torque. I was using a 2500 Ultegra but it's just too heavy for long days of jigging. Tried to use a Stradic 1000 and it works but feels underpowered and with 6lb it's not ideal. Been using the Tatula 2000 model for inshore jigging with 6lb line and I ca n't fault it jigging for 5- 6 hours non stop being so light. The only gripe is the handle has a tiny bit of play but nothing a shim ca n't resolve. I changed the handle to a black Titanium Gomexus with ceramic bearings and now it's perfect. I am critical of my reels and I have many including the 22 Stradic and Stella as well as other lower model Diawa's. This is an extraordinary reel in how it feels. The shaft feels that it's spinning on air when turning the handle, something my other reels do n't feel like. It's really an amazing feeling. The reel never has failed once in operation and is very light. Line management is excellent but need to add a washer to get the line lay to not taper on the top from how it came originally.

I bought this for an upcoming fishing trip and the location changed from freshwater lake fishing to saltwater coastal fishing. Although it is not a dedicated saltwater reel the stainless steel bearings should hold up. I just need to be careful not to drop it too many times in the sand. We all know how brutal saltwater can be on fishing tackle it up a little heavy because I had 30lb braid on hand. This thing rocks! Pretty much any I wanted to and reeling in was super smooth and effortless. The drag was very easy to adjust and worked as described. The reel is super lightweight especially with the carbon fiber handle and will definitely help keeping from getting fatigued on long days of fishing.

bought this new reel last week and am impressed with the overall quality. The fit and finish are excellent. I spooled it up with 20 lb braid( 6 lb equivalent mono) and it spooled nicely. There is a section in the middle of the spool to keep the line from sliding which is a nice feature. I made some test casts with it and it cast very smoothly and very long. The reel itself is very smooth and quiet with the 10+1 ball bearings. The drag also seems very smooth even when tightened down substantially further than I 'll probably need. This will now be my go to spinning reel. Excellent quality.

I bought this for an upcoming trip but right after I submitted the order the destination was changed from freshwater to salt water! Anyone that has fished salt knows how brutal it can be on tackle gear! While this is not a dedicated salt reel it is sealed and has stainless gears so it should hold up just fine. however I might be a little careful when fishing from shore because the sand has a way of getting into everything, and this is such a great reel. I spooled it a little heavier than suggested but I only had 30lb braid on hand but this reel was super accurate with test casts, putting my rig right where I wanted to go, and even while paired with a shorter rod, I was able to cast further than with other combos I have. Reeling in was effortless and had super quick gears, plus this reel is light weight, I could see fishing all day with it without the normal fatigue from heavier, more sluggish reels. I bought this at the beginning of the trout season just so I didn ’ t have the break the bank. After about a month of using it, I can confidently say that this rod exceeded my expectations. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I would just recommend removing the line that comes on it and replacing it with nicer mono or braided. Besides that 10/10!!

I bought this thing last summer and its one of my favorites! Durable as hell. Its probably more of a Medium light rod to be honest but its my go to for finesse techniques like drop shot or tubes on the river. I will say tho i have used swim jigs with this thing and it was able to get a perfect hook set. Too light for any chatterbait tho. Honestly thinking about getting one more for a back up god forbid something happens to my current one.

I 've had this for over 3 months now, bought this for myself as I wanted something moderate price, getting back into fishing after about 15 years. Used it over a dozen times already and its just a good feeling reel and rod. Reel is smooth and the rod has some sensitivity to it and a little bit of backbone, which is great. I use 10 lbs fluoro and have had no trouble with the line slipping the spool or reeling in fish. Overall, just a perfect combo to grab and get out on the water for some quality fishing time, on a modest budget.
