I bought this at the beginning of the trout season just so I didn ’ t have the break the bank. After about a month of using it, I can confidently say that this rod exceeded my expectations. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I would just recommend removing the line that comes on it and replacing it with nicer mono or braided. Besides that 10/10!!

The other day I hooked into a massive red in a pond and it ran straight for open water, taking out about 120 yds of line. The castability is what I expect from a 33 reel but the added bearings are what sets the Gold model apart. Too shallow bottom of carriage I bought it to hinin an old rod but it doesn ’ t fit because the old screw in holder rubs the reel carriage button. 1 more millimeter and it would be golden. Some cost cutting move cutting out old gear. Sony did same with camera gear. Forces more purchases. I taped it in with duct tape and rolled. The Corp game is tricky!
